As covid-19 has spread across the country and the world it has forced many of us into self isolation or has the government has called it " social distancing ". In some cities in countries it means complete isolation but everyone it means the inability to enjoy activities that involved getting together with large groups of people. The most obvious example of this is sports. Last week 3 of the 4 major US sports ( NBA, NHL , MLB ) have postponed their seasons while the world figures out a way to fight this virus. The 4th ( NFL ) while out of active season has had to make drastic changes to the way it conducts off season business. Also all other major sports have postponed while the 2020 Olympic games remain optimistic but still in question.
As a huge sports fan this has left a major void in not only entertainment schedule but social calendar. Not being able to come home and turn on a ball game any given hurts. To some I'm sure this seems pretty insignificant compared to everything else going on in the world but trust the impact that sports has on communities worldwide should not be underestimated. I know I can't be the only one on CC missing them !!!
If you're with me how are you filling time that would normally be occupied by going to a game or cathing one on TV ? Which one do you miss the most and what will do when it comes back ?
For me right now it would be March Madness because today would have been the start of the tournament. But I won't lie I miss them all on some level.
- Please keep in mind this is not the thread I want to tell me that athletes are coddled and overpaid it's not what this is about .. Save that argument for another day if that's all you have to contribute ( unless you want to debate whether a specific one is overpaid based solely on their performance in their respective sport then lets have at it !! )
