Feeling bored?, try some of the following.

These activities can be more fun if you make use of an online videochat service which allows screensharing.
My first pick would be Discord. I think it is easy to use and it is free. Sign up and you can start
Other services
Skype
RingCentralVideo
Pexip
TeamViewer
ezTalks Meetings
Cisco Webex
Apache OpenMeetings

phone
Houseparty app

Let a person go to youtube and screenshare with the rest. See? Already better
There are a lot of (old) movies on youtube so you can watch those together.
Or just your average funny compilations.
Reading can be done together if you have Ebooks.

There is a whole bunch of games you can play together.

What do you people think of this?
Feel free to share your own activities which can be done together during these times

  • I've heard of people eating and drinking together on a video call ; where one for instance passes a can of drink behind their laptop, then the other picks up a can of drink from behind their laptop ( N miles away ) and opens it. Ditto for a bottle of sauce, or cutlery.

  • I joined quarantine karaoke on Facebook. It’s fun to song and hear others sing. I miss karaoke lol

  • As of now, I’m just abstaining from cuddling and finding other things to do.

    @geoff1000 Hahahaha good one :)
    Karaoke on Facebook. That is one I would never think about. Nice @Sheena123
    @Lev136 Ah oke. Yeah that is a good idea. I have been busy with school and tried to pick up reading a whole book again.
    @PeopleLikeUs Not sure what you mean :)

  • I've just been working out to pass the time. Also trying to eat better and get more sleep as well.

  • Paint. Draw. Color. Puzzles. All good.

  • You can have lots of fun with Microsoft Paint just using the shape and fill tools:

    @VeganAndSleepy That sure is a good way to handle the situation right now. Keep it up.
    @Sideon It looks amazing. Thanks for sharing
    @UKGuy I see. How creative.

    Great ideas, BroBear! EXCELLENT TIMING!!! Sometimes, activity is the thing that's needed--- I'm 'bout tired of introspection!

    @Sideon and @UKGuy ~ thanks for the visual stimulation!!! I'm SUCH a "Lookie-Lou!"

    @BroBear- I have been eye gazing at this site. It's pretty fun. Anyone at CC could do the same on Skype.

  • One of my martial arts instructors has been doing classes on Zoom. He or one of the others is alone in the studio, and the others are in their homes. The only down side is when the class ends, the calls is gone like that {finger snap}, as opposed to a transition where you change and go home. But it helps my mood a little.

  • Last week, I walked into town to my local movie theater, sat down, ate a hot dog, then watched a movie.

    The missing part is that my movie theater is ( of course ) closed ; so I walked back home for the hot dog, and the movie was on DVD. However, I always find the walk out of my house, helps settle me into the mood for watching the movie.

    Ironic that the last movie I actually watched in a theater, I was the only person in the audience, so I was far more separated than the suggested ideas of severely reduced audiences for Social Distancing.

    @PeopleLikeUs Oooh now I understand. Thanks for explaining
    @CNYMike Wow thats great!
    @geoff1000 Ah like that, Kind of simulating the experience of a cinema night. Cool

  • I also had an idea to cut a scalloped edge on a piece of cardboard, and sit it below the TV screen, to mimic the heads of the audience in front.

    I'm told that if you can't get to an outdoor music festival, the next best thing is to set a CD player going, then put on a pair of Wellington boots and stand outside your toilet.

    For yachting : put on your wet-weather gear, and stand under the shower.

  • I walked to myy local gym to get some exercise ; it was closed, so my only exercise was the walk.

    @geoff1000 You got a funny bone. That is for sure hahahaha. Thanks for sharing :)

  • @BroBear
    Thanks. I try to be "humerus" 😀

    Call ins!!
    Ways you can spend your time at home meeting some asks of the BLM movement. You have all the time in the world!

    This is one of the updated lists, super duper easy to use, makes a huge huge difference to take the time to do this:
    ** Blacklivesmatter.carrd.co http://blacklivesmatter.carrd.co **

    These ones you can hashtag and call in city to city
    PoliceFreeSchools
    investincommunities

    Take time to educate yourself on black liberation and/or white privilege. If you're white there's also plenty of time needed to teach friends what you know about black liberation needs right now and about racial privilege.

    Ps- if anyone even begins to call racial justice political, I will jump through here.. no one is free till everyone is free.

  • Should we have a specific thread on racism ? It feels like too many are drifting that way ; and while I would happily comment on all of them, that might be inefficient.
