Has anyone gotten Covid from cuddling?

Hello 🐱 Im just curious if anyone from this site has gotten Covid from cuddling or has given it to the person theyre cuddling? I will not be cuddling in person till it is safe again and Im kind of shocked by so many people still requesting in person cuddles at this time since its considered very unsafe to be fraternizing with people we dont know and even with people outside of our household without social distancing and masks. I miss cuddling terribly but I just dont think its worth risking my health or the health of others. If you are cuddling, what precautions are you taking and having your cuddle clients/ partners take? Just wondering other peoples thoughts as well! 💖

Statistically speaking of course people on this site have gotten covid it would be impossible for that to have not happened given the number of site members . However, like with any virus or illness , it is extremely difficult to know where someone would have caught it . Especially due to incubation period and given the fact that one can be asymptomatic. So whether someone on here gets it from cuddling, or from the gas station, would be hard to know for sure

Not cuddling in person either till it's safe, either when a vaccine has been developed and has been distributed or when case numbers drop dramatically on their own.

Unless cuddlers are isolating themselves for a while before they meet up, and trust the other person or people to have done the same I can't think of a safe scenario for cuddling unless they live together of course. Rather sad to see so many people requesting cuddles too with everything going on.

  • I’ve been fine. I shower before and after sessions, make sure my clothes are clean, sanitize, and I’ve asked if the cuddler would prefer I wear my mask. Haven’t had any issues at all. :)

  • Tests are free. The last one I had notified me within hours that I was negative. Both cuddlers can go together to get tested. Wait for the phone call and you're good to go. Spend the night together cuddling. :)

  • In the UK, tests are over £100 a time.

So many people are asymptomatic, it is likely that A had it, B cuddling C passed it on, then D got ill from it.

With testing being free in NYC, it's actually fairly easy to go and get tested about every 3 weeks or a month as I begin socialising and snuggling up again. I think it's really great for us to also encourage our clients to be accountable to us as well, and get tested themselves. I try to begin that dialogue very early in our conversations as I do require it.

It's really dishearteing to see tests being that expensive in the UK! I'm so sorry.

Showering and wearing clean clothes won't keep anything from being transmitted if you or the other person has covid and are cuddling due to proximity and contact

  • I would guess it’s very individualized. I’ve had Covid already (months ago) so the risk/benefit ratio feels like it’s at times pretty worth it for me. I wouldn’t have expectations for anyone else though, especially with trends on the upswing as they are. I don’t think there would be a way to prevent spread with someone that has it while cuddling short of a full head mask and maybe a full body suit to boot... which would be hilarious :)

  • Kinda reminds me of other conversations around risk of Covid vs risks/harmful effects of isolation. Seems like factors are always changing too which is tricky.

@geoff1000 I get tested free as an NHS volunteer.

  • I only know of friend of friend who's gotten covid, and I've done some cuddles since it started. I have a lung issue so I'm at a higher risk, but I also think I have a stronger than normal immune system, and I was a germaphobe for years, so I've probably thought farther than others about germ prevention, and I'm more careful than average, especially now, and do things a lot smarter and more consistently with it I've noticed compared to others, by a long shot.

I've always it's ok to get the virus but not overwhelmed by it, and I think it is safe to cuddle at times if you are smart about it and keep it at a minimum. Don't cough on each other, clean yourself when necessary, don't spend a lot of time closely, cut down on sugar, take vitamins especially C and D and B and K, get good exercise and sunshine and laughs and food.

If you're conscious and careful and take actions to mitigate and prevent enough, your immune system won't be negatively hurt by isolation and loneliness and anxiety. There are benefits to it just being with someone, but you have to stay conscious of mitigation, even your thoughts impact your body's physiology of course.

Otherwise read up on it, not from politicians and talk show hosts, but from the medical and holistic field, and make sure to have a good attitude and think beneficial things, towards a better goal. And make sure to discuss with your partner the details. I think most of the spreading is from people being stupid, and the virus does not pass easily across surfaces, and not as easily as initially thought through the air. Just get educated and make informed decisions.

  • So, maybe i missed it but was it a yes or no?
