Okay, @geoff1000 ...
I finally went to see the document but she was a bit taken aback by the scars from the tendrils.
"Goodness, are these from spending time in the minefield?
"Oh, no." I said reassuringly, "I've never been outside of the US. These are from when I realized my skin was Peckish and was using an irony to smooth out all the bumps"
Shocked, she stammered, "Wait... What?! How... Didn't that hurt?!"
"Well at first, yes. But I quickly numbed to it."
"Uh-huh" She said now peering over her glasses then glancing down as she jotted a note.
So I continued on, and pointing said, "Look, see? I only got to my elbow on this arm because, mid-burning, my attention was drawn to the ruckus my carpet was making. You see there were workers targetting at the end of the drive." My voice quickened and I began to excitedly pantomime as I was recalling the day's events. "So, I ran out to tell them they couldn't do that without documentation and one of them actually had the nerve to call over his shoulder, 'What, are you some sort of Trumpet?' and the other one laughed and replied, 'Look at the way she's dressed. More like euthanasia!' and then they high-fived each other! Can you believe that?!"
Her eyes were now completely fixed on me so I went on.
"Obviously I didn't planet, but I quickly ran next door to the shaving residence for help. They're well known to be protein ever since Jonny was able to edit the ball that otherwise would have hit their prized 'Lyman Whitaker' wind sculpture." I leaned toward her and in a hushed sort of conspirital voice said, "I can telephony" and winked, "but that's not the point. You asked if it hurt. Well it wasn't until I gertured with a microwave to get Mr. Ving's attention that I realized I had rectum, not just one but both arms! I felt like I'd been kicked in the gut by a foliage when it dawned on me what I'd done. The pain became overwhelming, I fainted and an ambulance was called."
She was looking at me now with a face I thought was softening ever so slightly with compassion.
"It's okay though. I'm sure now I'm going to dilate and through my recovery was able to make my home like an excite for myself. Also, because the paramedics had to park halfway down the street and navigate the stretcher around the potholes, the road has since been repaired making my drive here possible today. Isn't that wonderful?!"
"Um...? Uh-huh. Yes, yes it is." She capped her pen and stood. "Okay, Ms. Quixotic, I think I've heard enough, and I'm sorry to say, but I won't be able to help you. I only take patients with spinal injuries. I'm just not qualified to treat brain damage too."
"Oh, I know." I exhaled a slight laugh, then quickly handed her the copies of my x-rays, "That's why I'm here! When I fainted I must have damaged it because ever since I've had porpoise". ๐

@geoff1000 ~ Quoting Patrick Renna as Ham Porter in The Sandlot...
"You're killin' me, Smalls!"
Those are all really fun and I'm sure will be worming their way into general conversations where I'm cracking myself up with puns and the like... I just can't keep up...
But I am still looking for unique words that aren't often used or that people have some sort of an affinity for.
My latest actually falls into both camps though ~ Necromancer - a person who practices necromancy; a wizard or magician.
Ah... So not a charming vampire! Okay. ๐ซ๐งโโ๏ธ๐๐งโโ๏ธ
Necromancy - a method of divination through alleged communication with the dead; dark art. magic in general, especially that practiced by a witch or sorcerer; sorcery; witchcraft; conjuration.
ooooo... ๐งโโ๏ธ๐ฎ๐งโโ๏ธ๐งน -> ๐ธ๐ฆต+ ๐๐ฆ + ๐ -> ๐ฏ+๐ฅ โ> ๐๐งช -> ๐๐ฌ๐ช -> ๐ + ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐คทโโ๏ธ -> ๐ ever after ๐ If I were a necromancer practicing necromancy, I'd only do it to benefit others... And the only thing "dark" about it would be my doing it at night because that's when all the best magic happens... ๐ ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ ..., it's when I'm typically awake and feeling crafty... ๐โ๏ธ๐งต๐จ ..., and because at heart I'm a Glenda... ๐งโโ๏ธ๐...
===^=== Note - Dictionary.com has received a note from me that using "black art" as opposed to "dark art" isn't appropriate (I changed it above). Not just because of the connotations in relation to skin color (which is the most important reason for my issue!) but also because in any associations I've had with Pagans (at least those who practice some form of Wicca and have talked with me about it) have always used the terms "light" and "dark". This could just be a regional thing, but given my feelings around BLM, and doing what I can to curb problematic language, I feel their definition needs the edit.

CUDDLES DURING COVID?!
People the world over have been touched by the connections they've made through CuddleComfort.com, but for some, online is no longer enough.
Due to the strain Covid has caused from limiting in person interactions to travel restrictions and quarantine, people have taken to wearing various types of full-body protective (HAZMAT) suits in the town square, and offering "Free Hugs"!
One passerby ( @cuddlerforu24 ) exclaimed of their hug, "The person who started this movement must be the most pulchritudinous being in the world!"
Said another free hug recipient ( @respectful ), "This has made an impact of Brobdingnagian proportions on me!"
It's been quite the sight to behold. This reporter was most moved by an out of town visitor ( @verona ) who shared their feelings in semaphore.
In the end, this reporter chose to see for themselves what platonic cuddling is about by snuggling up to this one (pictured below).
Another pulchritudinous individual whose Brobdingnagian soul is so magnanimous it can't possibly be be described in words/semaphore.
edited for typos... again...

@geoff1000 ~ I'm so sorry, but your last offering has way too many gems for my wee brain to process all at once. ๐ค But, I've gone through and removed all the ones I had the same understanding of, and kept only the ones I either didn't know or thought had a slightly to completely different meaning (example: I thought ameliorate had something to do with mixing ingredients/eggs ๐คทโโ๏ธ weird).
Now a challenge for you (should you accept): Look over the revised list and pick out three for me to thread together, in the order of your choosing, that you don't think I have a chance of being able to do, or that you'd just like to see what I can come up with in using them...
Sound good?
================================ Revised List:
Ameliorate ; make something which is bad, less bad Didactic ; having a moral instruction Foehn / fรถhn ; a wind generated by coldness Gnomon ; the stick of a sundial Jonquil ; bright yellow flower of the daffodil family, often used to describe a paint colour Laconic ; using few words, such as Clint Eastwood in spaghetti westerns Paramour ; a lover, especially not the spouse of a married person Quern ; a simple hand-powered corn mill Soliloquy ; speaking one's thoughts aloud as if to oneself, especially by a character during a play Tessellate ; shapes which cover a surface without gaps or overlaps Ubiquitous ; occurring everywhere Viviperous ; giving birth to live young, rather than laying eggs Xenomorph ; an alien, often used in sci-fi

~One more thing~ This has been an unexpected experiment of sorts that has served as an enjoyable and creative outlet for me, as well as a means of dusting off the ol' axons and dendrites. So, I also wanted to thank you for contributing too!!! Your participation, along with everyone else's, has been much appreciated! ๐

@quixotic_life Try just : ameliorate, paramour and soliloquy.
I'm enjoying revisiting some of my "old friends". ๐
I'm enjoying revisiting some of my "old friends". There's one in particular, my best friend since childhood, that I had a falling out with a few years back. However, with time, reflection, and sincerity put into laconic correspondence, we've been able to ameliorate the situation.
You see, we had the same paramour but didn't know it. Unfortunately, instead of being upset with them, we allowed our hurt egos to devide us.
Recently though, I was soaking up the sun, reminiscing, wondering what had become of my friend, when someone interrupted my thoughts. "What became of who?" questioned my new cuddle buddy joining me on the blanket. "What?" I asked a bit confused. "Well, as I approached, I heard part of your soliloquy and now I'm wondering who you're wondering about." They had a snarky sort of didactic tone, but it's because of that moment I'm on this trip.
I started with a short but heartfelt note of apology and regret, and received one in return with my old friend's new number. We started texting and now, here I am ~ about to fully make up for lost time and cuddle with my #1 best buddy again!

@geoff1000 ~ figured I'd throw in a couple extras for ya ~ ๐
@quixotic_life ๐ ๐ That flowed so well, that if the words hadn't been highlighted, it would have been hard to deduce the passage wasn't constructed around them. I must try to sneak these into some of my work emails.
Oh-Em-Gee! I just found a new word and I LOVE it!
Cacoethes [ kak-oh-ee-theez ] or [cacยทoยทรซยทthes] noun ~ an irresistible urge or compulsion; mania.
I will definitely be working this into general conversation as a way of describing/labeling my state of being when the H in my ADHD shows up ("Eesh! I don't know, must have been my cacoethes again.) ~ Lol
In a sentence(?) ~ My best attempt: Mulier consolationis faciliume habeo cacoethes ut amplecti. Comfort woman easily has irresistible urges to hug! (To those of you who actually know how to string together a Latin phrase and may have cringed at this, Sorry, I tried... ๐คทโโ๏ธ)
When looking into it further I found this lovely poem ~
Enjoy...
Cacoethes Scribendi By Oliver Wendell Holmes
If all the trees in all the woods were men; And each and every blade of grass a pen; If every leaf on every shrub and tree Turned to a sheet of foolscap; every sea Were changed to ink, and all earth's living tribes Had nothing else to do but act as scribes, And for ten thousand ages, day and night, The human race should write, and write, and write, Till all the pens and paper were used up, And the huge inkstand was an empty cup, Still would the scribblers clustered round its brink Call for more pens, more paper, and more ink

Aww... I was looking for 'cuddle' synonyms and found Cwtch! ๐ฅฐ
โCwtchโ has no literal English translation, but is an emotionally significant embrace and an intrinsically Welsh word that evokes a sense of home.
A 'cwtch' (pronounced 'kutch', to rhyme with 'butch') is the Welsh word for a cuddle or hug, but it's also so much more than that. Its second meaning is a cubbyhole or cupboard; a small space in which to store things safely.
Itโs the wrapping of your arms around someone to make them feel like there was no safer space in the world. That is exactly how a cwtch ought to make you feel: safe, warm, comforted.
Itโs in times of fear, danger, distress and melancholy that we most need a cwtch. Itโs not a casual gesture of affection; itโs a profound one, and it was invented by the Welsh.
Hugs are for everyone; cwtches are only for a few.... Itโs not just a cuddle or a hug โ itโs something special...
A cwtch is something you do when youโre overflowing with joy and love at another personโs sheer existence in your life that you canโt help but try and squeeze that love into them; itโs a safe space of love and comfort for someone who needs it; itโs all the best parts of being alive and loving someone, in a pair of arms. Hugs are for everyone; cwtches are only for a few, very special people...
๐๐๐ I'm wishing CWTCHs for all! ๐๐๐
definition/excerpts mainly from here and Google.
Oh internet, ~ I love how some days you just "get me"! ๐
Forever a fave! Whatever you do...
gormless
Coorie (v) (Scots) - to snuggle or nestle
"The baby, stung by the hail, turned his face to his father's chest and cooried in."
Can also be followed by "down" or given on its own.
@Designergirl ~ I often feel as though others view me as "gormless" more often than I'm aware of. I suppose it must be somewhat endearing though, because those who are wicked smart keep inviting me around. โก
@CuddleDuncan ~ Getting to coorie down into my snuggle buddy is my favorite hobby!
Finally!! A diagnosis... Turns out I have Cingulomania!!!
And my Rx will be filled in 48 hours. ๐
