What are the safety reasons you won’t leave karma on a clients profile?
I try to always leave karma but maybe someone has a partner who they don’t want knowing they they cuddle others? Is it more of just a privacy issue then a safety issue?
I tried to add a pro cuddler on social media and she flat out told me "I've never added a client to my social media and don't plan to now". Some people like living the private life and I respect that.
@CrossFitNLattes i appreciate your feed back but I think karma is different than social media, social media is a private life and I do respect that also, people don’t want to cross there professional lives with there personal lives.. but messages me, I would love to be friends on this site. Only if you’re comfortable with that of course!!
@CrossFitNLattes I don't think the OP is talking about social media profiles.
@Melancholy i am not!! Thank you very much for spotting that out! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I can't see any reason to not leave Karma. If someone is simply on they site, that would be enough "evidence of infidelity" for that someone's partner to see it that way. The client could always ask to not be "Karma'd".
A pro should certainly be clear in advance if they don't leave Karma for their clients, as some may be specifically looking for a "good reference".
Some leave good karma for people who were very disrespectful. They don’t deserve good karma but some pros I’ve been told are worried that it would reflect badly on themselves. What some of these pros aren’t aware of is that if they wrote a false karma on a disrespectful cuddler, that could harm the next pro. They will read this karma and think the cuddler is alright.
I’m an avid fan of leaving karma. At the end of a session, I always ask if they are ok swapping karma. I’ve had a couple that don’t like to and they don’t give me a reason why, but I wouldn’t push it. I know some can leave false karma but for the most part, karma is very important. I’ve left a karma on a cuddler and another pro would message me saying they’ve noticed I left a review and would like to ask more questions about the cuddler for safety. Another great reason for karma is it does open the door for more cuddlers. How many times have you seen someone wrote in the forums here “if they don’t have karma, I avoid them.” Most respect the fact that everyone has to start somewhere but women generally feel a bit better to see some glowing recommendations. You can usually tell when a karma is written forcefully or if it’s genuine.
To answer the question though, the only safety reason I can think of is leaving a karma for someone that didn’t deserve it, which could harm other cuddlers or the worry of getting a bad karma lash back. Like a revenge karma.
I like the idea that a potential cuddler could be checked out, by privately contacting those who have left Karma on them, instead of just reading the text.
If I don’t leave karma it’s more privacy reasons than anything else. I usually don’t unless the cuddler specifically asks me to.
I really don't understand this as a safety or privacy issue.
I always leave good karma for those who I enjoyed and thought were good cuddlers. Some cuddlers reciprocate others don't when I give them a nice review. Some give me good karma before I send it to them.
I suppose Karma does leave a slightly heavier digital footprint, than merely being on the site.
@geoff1000 Why do you say that?
"Safety" is relative. A good internet practice on any/every platform is to verify your account settings. I don't want non-registered users checking out my profile.
Go into Settings (sixth from the top, third from the bottom):
@hellcat_123 Being on site is "a public record", but it doesn't indicate the member has actually cuddled with anyone. That record might indicate one's location, preference, or where one was at a particular time. It is like browsing in a bookstore, or posting a review of the book you bought. Some people might not want the latter.
@verona - In my opinion, if somebody has a significant other, they should have the right to know and be okay with the fact that they seek platonic cuddling. Healthy relationships don't keep things a secret.
I've had clients request I not leave karma for them for a variety of reasons including privacy and also they didn't want a pro they saw regularly get jealous. I've learned to always ask first.
Some people dont want it to turn into a popularity contest or a numbers game . I've cuddled with more people than who have left me karma , and others I haven't left karma for. Some just aren't into it
who benefits those karma? It only gives someone a way to track your movement and as to who you cuddled. A lot on here have cuddled with positive feedbacks with relatively no or very few karma.
@chocolatey775 "who benefits those karma? It only gives someone a way to track your movement and as to who you cuddled."
Karma is somewhat important as an indicator that a potential cuddle partner provides a safe and pleasant experience. It's not 100% reliable (there are most definitely shitty cuddlers with glowing 5-star karma), but it's better than nothing. In particular when I see a pro cuddler who's been on the site for a long time but has no karma, I consider that a warning sign. (Actually, in my experience these pros generally don't respond to messages anyway - I have no idea what they're doing on this site.)
Although you're right, it is slightly odd that you can look at someone's profile and see a slice of their cuddle history. Imagine if on a dating site you could go to someone's profile and see a list of people they've dated in the past and how their dates went... that would be strange.
@SanFranResident - What's gonna stop somebody from creating multiple accounts and giving themselves karma?
@Mike403 Obviously the moderator! 😇
@Mike403 ~ I literally gasped!
I hope there aren't people doing that! Unless a person legitimately had two or more non-integrated personalities, who are each interested in cuddling (and somehow two also managed to cuddle one another at the same time) that would be an insanely sketchy and underhanded thing to do! Yikes!
I like when ppl leave me karmas. I have however come across cuddlers who use this site discreetly and do suggest them leave me a karma as i always return the thoughtful favor but i dont push limits if they arent comfortable w leaving one. Most of them are ok w it.
As far as "track my movements" goes, karma is a very inaccurate way to do that. I've driven over an hour to a cuddle session and my cuddler did similarly. Neither of us mentioned that in karma, nor did we mention where we cuddled. Someone sticking pins in a map at our home locations and drawing circles might guess where we met, but their guess could be 2000 miles out because I was on vacation on the other side of the country and didn't update my profile location...
@dontremember We probably leave more of a digital footprint with our forum postings.
