Do you read bios before messaging a pro?

edited September 2020 in General

Aloha everyone!

I’ve gotten so many messages lately from people who are asking for in person cuddles, (which makes perfect sense since that’s what this is here for!) when both my profile picture and my bio say that I’m only doing virtual sessions.

I would love to do in person but am trapped at home in Maui (a great place to be right now, don’t get me wrong!) so I’m offering virtual sessions only, and I tried to make that as clear as possible so I don’t waste anyone’s time.

I would love to hear from you - how does it work for you when you see a pro you want to talk to? Do you always read their bio first? Never? Sometimes?

As a pro, I would love to make what I’m offering as clear as possible so anyone who checks out my page knows what I offer and so we don’t waste each other’s time, and I feel like I’ve done that, so any other suggestions are welcome!

May all of our cuddle needs be met, in person or virtually :)

  • 95% of men don't read the bios on this or any dating site. They just look at the pictures.

Although honestly a picture is what catches a guy’s attention, reading the bio helps me decide whether to pursue further or realize it’s a waste of time.

I would agree with the fact that most guys do not read the bios, I try to do so. But the fact that your picture also says that virtual sessions only, I would presume that people try to ignore it purposely and still give it a shot that you might be interested in an 'in-person' session

I definitely read bios. I think it is pretty silly not to. I really like when cuddlers have extensive bios like yours so I feel I know a little about what the person is like.

However, I think many men get in the habit of not reading bios due to their experience on dating sites. On dating sites since women message back so rarely it’s not really worth it to spend time learning about someone unless she has already messaged you back.

Any person who I am potentially interested in cuddling I will read their bio. Pictures aren't something I care about much.

  • I read all bios when messaging someone regardless of pro / non pro status

  • I totally get how photos can attract someone, especially a new one hehe...for sure, and they may not read the bio due to whatever reason....

    HOWEVER. :)

Clients get bonus points when they read my bio.

It's something important to me, especially if I write an updated note at the very top of my profile, for it to be ignored - then just assume you can book with me or asking the exact question to which the answer is literally in the first two sentences of my profile, is a bummer.

As a very cuddly independent contractor through this site, ;) lol.... I am much more than what I look like and would hope that I was worth the 3 minute investment of your time to treat me like a person, not an item to browse. Those are the clients I maintain the closest friendships with. The ones that take the time as I do, to give and take, our energies to connect and bond through touch and communication.

We all are worth that investment, if a client has a profile, I absolutely read the whole thing. <3

Photos can say a lot, but my bio says WHO I am, not what YOU think I must be/provide by photo only. Some pros truly take the time to write out some pretty good indicators to what your experience would be like, who they are, ect. on their profile.

    Happy Cuddles.

  • All the time. Just as they reserve the right to screen me for their safety, I reserve the right to scream them for my safety.

  • I read both pro and non pro bios. It gives me a better idea of personality, intetests and cuddle session experiences expectations. I also communicate by messages to check for profile and personal communication consistency.

  • I always read bios. Photos together with the bio gives a big picture of whether there will be a good match for a connection that enhances the experience.

  • Like anything, there are some guys that read the bios and those who do not. So yes there will be a considerable amount who do not read the bios. But there is a third group—those who read the bios and disregard because they think they can charm, dissuade or intimidate the lady from their beliefs.

I wouldn’t let it bother you because in some ways these guys who do not read or disregard your bio have filtered themselves out of your pool of possible clients.

  • I read the bios, but my experience on other sites is that they are often out-of-date, optimistic, or otherwise inaccurate ; so they are only an indication. Always best to confirm any details that might be very important, as inclusive or exclusive filters.

  • It would be weird to message a pro and NOT read their bio. That said, I'm satisfied with full sentences, but I'm ecstatic when someone can write and communicate well.

  • Usually look at pictures and give just a fleeting glance at bios. The bios are generally just a bunch of generic fluff with not much substance (rainy days and Mondays always get me down, for example) to really help me in making a decision.

  • @spuds
As an illustration, if the bio said, "My favourite colour is blue, and I have a severe peanut allergy", only one of those is important.

I could turn up in a red sweatshirt with a packet of cookies, or in a blue sweatshirt with a packet of peanuts ; and although each combination is half right, it's important to know which is better.

  • @geoff1000 - But that part of the bio doesn't mention anything about liking cookies.

  • @Mike403
    Nor disliking red.

The cookies are for me. 😀

  • I try to read them. A good detailed one works well for me as it will answer most of the questions I might have before contacting the pro. The more information the better.

  • Some men try to assemble furniture or operate equipment, and only read the instructions when they get stuck.

Often best to read everything first. I still remember changing a bearing on my car, and getting to the point in the instructions where it said "having left the bearing to soak in oil for 24 hours". Or "with the aid of an assistant" or "using the tool fabricated according to the diagram overleaf".

So, probably not good to have the first serious read of the bio, while sitting on the plane / waiting in the hotel room.

@FishCuddles - Many bios I've read from non-pros are either blank or just mentions that they love to cuddle. Isn't that why we're all here?

  • I always read bios before I message. I found that 100% of the time, if a woman responds but does not visit my profile, she is an untagged pro. Every single time, without fail, if they respond without visiting my profile, they end up providing rates at some point. I’ve reported them all. Most of the time they end up getting banned. A few times, I’ve seen their accounts suspended until they convert to a pro account.

    @ScrantonCuddler

I've noticed the same. Other times if they don't look at your profile and are not tagged at professionals, they could also be scammers. I report them as well.

  • I always read there bio !!!, and there feedback/karma to try to learn a little about them. I have also noticed that when someone reaches out to me or I contact them, most do not even read my profile, then the ones that do, are not Pro's,
I also have gotten several females to connect me and ask for a cuddle, when they do NOT look at my profile, they want to charge me, but they are not listed as a Pro. I had one contact me, after several messages, she then tells me that she charges, but not a Pro, she then told me that her fee would depend on what services I would want during the cuddle, LOL, she was banned before I could even answer.

  • @waynewv ,

Cuddle Comfort is very good at monitoring what is going on their site. They will often ban a person quickly if needed.

@RamanAngel It's pretty common for guys just to look at your pictures and skip the bio. It's always refreshing when someone contacts me and indicates they've actually taken the time to read my bio.

  • @Mike403 I agree with everything you've said

"Some men try to assemble furniture or operate equipment, and only read the instructions when they get stuck.

    @geoff1000 that's good advice.

  • As a discerning cuddler I always read profiles before I reach out to someone. I’m on the lookout for professional potential cuddle partners that are into natural holistic healing and mention some type of training in their profile whether it be traditional or nontraditional. While a picture can say a thousand words, an authentic bio says much more to me.

  • Yes, always ... & not just pros but enthusiasts as well , I really love reading profiles

  • I don’t mind if potential clients do don’t a close reading of my bio before messaging me. In general, I think most pro cuddlers’ bios are too long and too many skew negative.

I can’t book you until you send me a message, so message away. We can work out the details together.

Many members of this site have no idea what a virtual cuddle session even is. And we pros are mostly just making it up as we go along—I prefer to take that “erroneous” message as an opportunity rather than view it as an annoyance.
