For the reticent

This thread is a bit of an experiment.

I made it for the quieter types who might have something substantive (or something silly) to say - but who have been reluctant to weigh in on these forums. If you have thought about dipping your toe in the stream of conversation but feared (or experienced) your voice being drowned out by the more frequent commenters, I invite you to introduce yourself here.

If you are a frequent commenter, thank you for keeping all the other threads on the forums so lively. I invite you to refrain from chiming in here. Just see what happens in a conversation where you only listen.

If this thread fails to be active, or viable, I’ll be surprised. But I’d rather see it commented on only rarely than see it filled with the same voices that are already being heard elsewhere.

(NB Look for a parallel thread where everyone can discuss whether or why starting this thread was necessary. If you’re a frequent poster who wants to comment on this topic, I’ll see you over there.)

Sadly, I think the site’s algorithms won’t keep this thread visible long enough to see good stuff happen here. Thanks for the support though, @avilala. @hillbilly

Hi lovelies! How’s all my fellow quiet folks handling all the spiritual and social ruckus going on at this time? I personally have gotten into opting for a hot cup of tea more often (English Breakfast 😍) and sitting down to listen to some lo-fi music when it feels overwhelming. Also I have a vintage gothic book collection that I started reading pieces from again even if it only is me sentimentally dusting them off after reading for two minutes sometimes lol

  • I like to read and journal. I do enjoy a good cup of tea. My preference is for the fruity or herbal varieties. Not sure why hot water that smells delicious but still tastes generally like hot water appeals to me so much, but it does.

I also like to escape to the wild places with no reception, to go for a walk amongst the trees or tie up a hammock and watch the movement of the leaves and the birds and butterflies and bees.

  • Im working 10 hour shifts 6 days a week. So my cuddle time gets cut down. If anyone were willing to cuddle that is. Noone ever said making money was easy
