Is it just me or....

Has anyone else had someone just disappear on them?? I had a gentleman I was chatting with for 2+ weeks about a pro cuddle. My vacation and his work schedule was postponing a booking. Very respectful, very nice. One week ago Friday, he was talking about an appt last week. I did not hear from him over the weekend so I was going to msg him Monday to see if he was still interested and his account was deleted. So weird to me. His wife was disabled (according to him) so maybe he felt guilty?? But if it was platonic, why feel guilt??

  • I've had peeps totally disappear too. I think people's personal situations can be super complex and hidden from our view. When they get close to following through, I think sometimes they totally chicken out. I also think there are plenty of people, fellows in particular, who can't really distinguish between platonic and not when it comes to being close to another person's body, no matter what the mental distinctions are.

So sorry that happened to you!

  • Wife probably told him to delete his account or she'd file for divorce.

I have had that happen as well maybe they had ill intentions. Then felt guilty so it’s a good thing they didn’t follow through.

  • Was going to say the same thing as @littermate and for this reason I don’t guarantee I will be available until there is a sure session date set. Married men in my experience are also hard to handle because it seems that affair potential sticks to them. Ones I’ve spoken with were not intending to be honest with their wives and tried to establish all these privacy loops for me. I’m like...no absolutely not, clearly you don’t understand what a session is haha. It is upsetting though when you have a longer conversation and it leads to nothing, especially with cuddlers you can totally chat with a lot.

  • It happens! Never take it personal as it usually has nothing to do with us personally.

  • I don’t think every person that bails or deactivates is doing it for shady reasons. Some just have a legitimate change of heart that it’s not for them. I’ve had people do it to me as well so I just accept it as one of those things

  • I think people get cold feet, change of plans, etc.

  • I'm not sure of the reason, but it happens, and in every new email thread I have with someone, I expect it may happen again, it is what it is.

Thanks all for commenting. I didn't take it personal, but I was, as one poster noted above, having a nice time chatting with him so it was just odd to me. Probably a case of cold feet, yes, when getting close. I just would like it, I suppose, if people could be grown ass adults and not ghost others.

  • If it was a situation where he felt guilty, I think a lot of people see cuddling as an activity that mainly couples do. I think it's rare to see platonic cuddling between friends. Someone in a relationship might find it a little weird or off-putting if their partner is cuddling with someone else.

  • When I don't hear back from someone I'm expecting to hear from, I spiral into "worse case scenario" mode so fast!
Thinking things like they were in a horrible accident, had a medical emergency, there's been a catastrophic event like a fire, something's happen to a loved one/pet, they're trapped somewhere, were the victim of a crime, etc.
The last time it happened, I ended up scouring through their local accident reports and it wasn't until I was looking at crash photos I realized I didn't know what kind of car they drove.
Lol! Hardly ever do I just go with something 'shoulder shruggish' to explain the unexplainable ~ Kudos to those of you who can though!!

@quixotic_life yep, me too, but not to that degree! lol

  • If I don't hear back from someone I'm expecting to hear from, I assume they were kidnapped by aliens.
