I always get flabbergasted when somebody who doesnt appear to be trolling, but has some semi-controversial opinions or concerns get banned. There must be something behind the scenes that we aren't seeing.
I think there should be a stricter policy on people posting what is meant to be private messages and conversation in the forums. I would imagine %99.9 it’s without the consent of the other party involved and I don’t think it’s right. Same goes profiles or profile pics of other members other than yourself unless it’s in the inappropriate profile thread.
@cuddlerforu24 if you are referring to the time that you were upset because of something I had said referencing you having been previously banned I apologize to you again for having upset you . Nothing personal. I have moved on and didn't even get what you were trying to reference. I do hope we can move forward and not have to rehash this again .I have nothing against you truly

@Mike403 There usually is, yeah. That also applies for the most recent case.
I like the early warning, gentle nudge idea. I think it might be our responsibility to tag a moderator or pm them since they can't necessarily stay on top of all threads.
I will continue to call for kindness when I notice things getting mean. I don't have to be a moderator to do that, and I don't need a moderator to do that for me. I've been criticized for it, and tough noogies.
I don't feel particularly targeted on here for being a woman. The thought hadn't actually crossed my mind, but I hear others have that experience, and then the fellows seem to have theirs vice-versa. I kind of like when someone puts out a perspective that seems antiquated, uninformed or whatever about my particular gender, because it gives me an opportunity to counter it. If they just thought it and didn't say it, they might not learn anything. And I've learned a lot on here myself, basically by at times saying something ignorant and getting schooled.

It is valid to think that sometimes certain folks are weighted differently when it comes to mod action. I recall an incident a while back where a user had done something to a pro that got him banned, there was electronic evidence of it and it was a clear violation. He was banned for like a few hrs then was back. Told admin a laughable excuse and blocked her so she couldn't leave him bad karma , which now you are able to do even when blocked but couldn't back then. That incident did leave me wondering why on earth others are banned permanently and he wasn't, but he has also been on here for years and had routinely been hiring pros which is site revenue . I would like to think there was not bias in that decision but I have to admit my little antenna radar went up
That being said I do feel the current state of moderation and current mods are pretty fair and balanced and I welcome @sideon and appreciate what he brings

That does make sense though. One example is if you've been a valuable member of this community for years, or karma shows you've built strong connections, then any mod action against your account should be taken with considerable thought. Even more so than a new member that hasn't built up a high level of account reputation. It's a sensible approach to moderate based on a person's history and overall intentions rather than narrowly focussing on a single aspect. I'd imagine mods will privately chat with parties involved and there being more to the story than what reaches the public forum.

I completely understand that suspicion but there is an effort to avoid that type of bias. As part of a moderator's induction, literally within the first 100 words of required reading, it states, "...the potential financial implications of a mod decision should never be a consideration".
That's not to say a booking record can't sometimes be a factor but it would be from a non-financial perspective based on the circumstances of the case.
