Randomly Blocked?

  • @PeopleLikeUs I would suggest you don't send that message to every pro cuddler you block. Why would you bother them? Why are you inadvertently clicking on their page ?
When searching for people its very easy to filter by pro or not pro.
Also why is it a big deal if you accidentally click on someone who is a pro? What does that matter?

Good god @PeopleLikeUs I sure hope that you block me. I'm speaking for myself, but with anyone who sends out a message like that, unprovoked at that, it's best for my sanity not to deal with them at all.

@Melancholy - I send it because it works. Also, the "Recently Online" section does not indicate whether or not a person is a Pro and it also does not filter out Pros. So it's impossible not to inadvertently click on a Pros page. Also...

@CuddlesByDeep I never send out that message "unprovoked". Only to Pros that contact me about a cuddle. They've all been very appreciative and I think it's nicer than just blocking them without saying anything.

I also personalize each one and try to give them words of encouragement. This is a new field and I want the Pros on this site to feel supported.

  • @Rezz

So sorry to hear about bad experiences. It makes it rough for the rest of us.

  • I have never been blocked but I have been ghosted. I don’t know why (all communication up till then had been friendly and succinct) but I didn’t dwell on it. I just assumed they changed their mind for some reason.

I haven’t blocked anyone on here-I typically report them for their inappropriate messages and they get banned.
But it does sound like maybe you formed a bond with them and that could be why you’re upset you were blocked. If that’s the case, it might be one sided hence the blocking.
    Just a theory.

I don’t give an explanation. People tire me.
My love is limited as is my life force. Who I give my time and energy to, is my decision. Including conversations.

@PeopleLikeUs I do hope you find what you need, but your behavior towards me, in particular, shows petulance, and it is quite unfortunate. I'm glad you blocked me despite us having no exchange by messages at all. I've blocked you back, and, even though I'm not a pro, that one post you made about how you'd behave towards pros on this site tells me the only thing about you that I need to know.

  • @CuddlesByDeep If you and I had "no exchange", I'm curious how I showed "petulance" toward you?

@PeopleLikeUs I have said my piece in this discussion, and don't plan to make further contributions here. Wishing you all the best, though.

  • @Rezz , sorry you have had bad experiences in St. Louis. If you ever change your mind and visit our not so fair city, let me know if you’d like to get together for a chat.

All - please play nice. No need to get petulant. - Babichev

I blocked a pro cuddler because of a miscommunication. I thought she was shady because she asked me to meet in Chicago, but I don't even live near there. I later apologized because it was a misunderstanding. Regardless, she blocked me this time, even though I tried to apologize for my reaction and clear the air. But whatever. It is what it is. Even when trying to reason with people, they block you. Like @Amortentia said, they're not worth your time.

  • Repeated viewing of profile: Often this is because there aren’t a lot of cuddlers in the area you are constantly looking over the same ones. You might not remember the details on one just from the picture and so maybe you have to reread their profile to remember why you didn’t want to contact them. Maybe too expensive. Maybe something else in the profile you don’t like. Maybe you already wrote to them and they never replied. Maybe you already had a conversation and it didn’t go too well. Maybe the first picture appeals to you but follows on pictures don’t. Lots of reasons. I often write to new cuddlers and welcome them to the site. Some don’t reply. If they don’t, I usually don’t send them another message because I take that as a sign of lack of interest. Occasionally I’ll write to them several months later thinking perhaps they were just too overwhelmed. If they still don’t reply, I’ll almost never write to them again. So often, I’ll click on profile, check out the messages and then go away after seeing they were a non-responder.

  • I have been blocked I think cause I looked at a profile frequently .I guess it does seem creepy but I like to read the profile again more than once .I still find myself doing it . sometimes I just like to see if a person has new pictures .am I wrong to relook at a profile ?

@Gaba, some women think that if you look at their profile frequently without messaging, it must mean that you’re using their pictures for unsavory purposes. This seems silly to me. Profiles are made to be looked at and to attract attention. Men have also shared in the past that they might check in on a traveling cuddler frequently to see where she is headed next. Or may click on a profile with a new picture by mistake. There are hundreds of innocent reasons.

If someone blocks you for showing interest in them, it’s their loss. Console yourself in knowing it probably wasn’t a good match anyway.

  • I never pay attention to whether someone is looking at my profile repeatedly or not. I only rarely glance at who has looked at my profile. Seems like I’m missing an opportunity to run a bunch of useless anxiety. :)

  • If someone blocked that's his/she's problem. They don't give me food, water, health. I have dignity if someone doesn't like/want me . Die on your hate .

  • I won't respond and will block someone who contacts me with "hey sexy" or something else equally inappropriate because my profile clearly says not interested in that. And I don't feel bad about it.

  • Blocking or being blocked is not the worst thing in the world. In fact, the person who blocked you might be doing you a favor. Case in point?

I was chatting with someone, a fellow enthusiast mind you, about cuddling. They had looked over my profile and suggested that I might be good at "Dad hugs" because of where I am in my life, and that they're younger than me.

I didn't respond. That observation might have been innocent enough to them, but it touched a nerve and made me feel really uncomfortable. After a little time the person who asked me that asked if that was weird or if it made me uncomfortable. In the spirit of being honest, I told them yes, that it felt weird. It was a matter of fact response - I wasn't trying to judge or make anyone feel bad in the process. They asked me how I felt about their remark, and I responded.

They promptly began to excoriate me, telling me that I must be a terrible person, and questioned why would I be on this site, and other belligerent proclamations. And THEN they proceeded to block me because they didn't want to hear any kind of response to their belligerence.

I consider being blocked by that individual a case of addition by subtraction. The way their tone just flipped like that was a clear indication to me that maybe they aren't the most stable person on the site, or someone that I would feel comfortable cuddling. And I went ahead and blocked them for good measure because I refuse to be treated like a punching bag for someone who does not want an honest response.

  • @Cinephile77 Thank you for sharing your experiences and sorry that negativity was involved (but your decision seemed to be for the healthy/better). I agree with the principle addition by subtraction. I have been blocked before by people that all I did was just look at their profile, some I messaged and or etc. I now view being blocked as a good thing. It saves time with me communicating with others, that obviously think we are not a match (that is ok too). I move on make more great friends/cuddle buddies!!!

  • Fingers crossed. Never been blocked by pros, but a couple regulars on here. @MattsWeather I don't have any words to say that will take away the hurt or pain. In many ways I agree with what others say that it is others' "right" to not have to explain. I still believe this is a fairly new modern phenomena where you can be rude and ghost and treat others as commodity in some market exchange. Once their utility has been met, make that "trade" or cancel it. I would just encourage you to read, re-read and re-play the gentle and kind words of @valkyrievixen and @SuperManCuddles. And in between, accept our virtual hugs.
