So men can be shirtless but women ….

have to be completely covered? This is BS and my photos were deemed inappropriate and removed. If this isn’t being sexist, what is?

  • Once the Free The Nipple movement has been so successful that women's chests are no more eroticized than men's are, I'm sure that the site's shirt requirements will be disregarded for female-bodied people just the way they're currently ignored when it comes to male-bodied types.

If it helps, I report shirtless men more often than shirtless women.

  • I highly agree that this is a very sexist society. In my opinion, it is inappropriate for either gender to be shirtless, but if one gender is allowed to be shirtless, it is only fair to allow it as well for the other gender to not be sexist.

There is also sexism against men, like men can’t wear male dressy shorts to formal occasion without being kicked out &/or laughed at, and men can’t wear male dressy shorts to office job without any of the following: being laughed at, getting in trouble, being called gay, queer, transgender, cross dresser, or many other words. And that is not the most polarized sexism accessory based thing, which it’s insane beyond measure. There is another thing that is even more polarized for both men and women that is an accessory but it isn’t clothing or jewelry. I think you can already tell what I am referring to.

Also, I hate it when I get called sweety, hun, or honey randomly by girls near my age that don’t know me and that I don’t know of, & I hate it also when they take a photo of me, especially without asking for permission first. I can’t stand this sexism! I did one time tell a girl that I would appreciate it if she stopped calling me sweety, and luckily she understood that. She apologized and said she calls everyone by that, but still respected my preference.

  • The site rules are meant to apply to everyone, regardless of sex, gender, or body type. As the Terms and Conditions say under the guidelines for profile photos:

This doesn't refer only to people with breasts. "You," the user of the site, may have any type of body: this rule is meant for you.

The problem is that, since society primarily eroticizes only one type of naked chest, that's the type that usually gets reported. If you want to change this and make the application of the rule as equal as it's meant to be, the answer is simple:

    Report every shirtless photo.

  • If men are allowed to be shirtless but women are not that is indeed sexist, no way around it.

  • Actually, both men and women can be shirtless in their photo in certain environments like if they are at the beach. Though there are times that they both look fishy in what they wear/how they pose which gets dealt with.

  • @Lovelight: Huh. I don't remember reading that anywhere in the site rules, or in any statement made by any site official. Where did you find that guideline?

  • No beach shots of u @Lovelight , what about bare top half of backs - either gender body types?

  • @DaringSprinter - no members were reported in the capturing of this screen shot. This might be what she's referring to though. I just did a test (I went to a profile and clicked on "report").

    @_Green_Eyes_

Yup, that's how I report inappropriate photos.

Like people with no shirts—regardless of body type. Site rules say every user has to be fully clothed in their profile pics!

Edit: Ohhhh. I see. Thanks! (I haven't reported any pictures in over a year, since before I deleted my first account: I didn't remember that bit, and then overlooked it when it was presented. Whoops.)

  • Report any profile where the subject regardless of gender is topless. I'm pretty positive the mods have stated before that no shirtless pictures are allowed including men. The site depends on us reporting inappropriate profiles and pictures.

  • This is what I don’t like. It seems like the site does skirt a lot of rules when it comes to this. I’ve had a couple mods tell me that bikini pics and shirtless pics of men are fine if it’s at the beach. I report every shirtless pic of men. But I’ve even reported very questionable pics of women and I’ve been told by a mod that it was ok. One woman had a pic of herself coming out of water wearing a white shirt and no bra with her nipples fiercely showing while she’s making a very sexual face. They told me it was fine. 🙄🙄 uh no, that’s not ok.

I’ve looked past some bikini photos and shirtless photos of men because Mark himself said swimsuit photos are fine if they’re at the beach but some are just incredibly sexual. Why are we ok with overlooking these photos?

    A few thoughts:

    1. All users should be held to the same rules. For this site, that should mean shirts for all, which is the rule.

    2. The rules should be equally applied in the real world. Women should be able to go shirtless where men can go shirtless.

    3. Unfortunately, on this site, women who appear shirtless are very often trying to sell something else (onlyfans, escort, porn) in violation of TOS. This is super unfair to other women who are not doing such a thing.

    4. I’m all for women being able to be sex workers safely and legally. But not on this site.

    5. Men who appear shirtless here are usually trying to get something more than cuddling, and should be treated as if they were sex workers on this site and banned.

    6. I’m sorry, but whoever said “men not being able to wear dress shorts to formal events is sexist” truly needs to do a lot of work in understanding sexism.

  • If it makes you feel better, I literally 10 seconds ago just reported a profile that has a million red flags.

His name referred himself as “Daddy”, his pic had him putting his middle fingers up, he had a shirtless pic aaaand he said he likes to cuddle after sex….. yea, he gets what this site is allll about 🙄🙄🙄

  • @DaringSprinter , @Green_Eyes already showed what I was refering to. Though here's another too, to show what I was talking about:

Everyone reports at their own discretion and it's up to mods in the end if they deem the content inappropriate.

  • @CUD_male "No beach shots of u @Lovelight , what about bare top half of backs - either gender body types?"

Pardon? I don't get what you mean... I don't even have a photo of me up.

  • [Deleted User]Leyhill (deleted user)

Why are sites like this relying on their viewers and clients to report photographic infractions of their rules. Should not they be responsible for policing their sites?

  • @Leyhill: That's a good question, and I don't have an answer. Why does this site rely on a "see something, say something" method of rooting out rule breakers? Is there not enough profit to support the servers and a dedicated moderation team, maybe? I'm pretty sure our current handful of mods are all unpaid.

@Lovelight: Thank you! I feel doubly silly now. (But I have the data, which is worth feeling a little silly.)

@Leyhill probably the same reason just about every other major site relies on its members to report inappropriate content. It's more effective that way than* expecting a few mods to have to take on monitoring every single photo that users upload. Which in many cases are fine, just to find the bad apples. That also gives the members who aren't doing anything wrong the freedom to change their photos whenever they want and not have to wait on approval.

    Emphasis on cleavage.
Can someone explain why this photo was removed??? Inappropriate my a$$

  • edited January 2022

    But this is ok

No, it’s not okay. You should report it. There are thousands of accounts. The mods are not examining every single one every time someone uploads a photo. We rely on members to report inappropriate photos, untagged pros, etc. - Babichev

@Drea728: That does look like it falls within site guidelines to me. I wouldn't report a male-bodied person wearing that top—and it's a tropical vacation pic, right? Two for two: fully clothed (as far as I can tell) and an appropriate environment (so even if it's a bikini, nbd).

Edit: The photo of that Ramo guy is the type I'd say to report.

Yeah... this is sexist. If we're gonna go all out "no shoulders no collarbone" on female-presenting types, we need to hold everybody to that same standard.

  • @Drea728 "Can someone explain why this photo was removed??? Inappropriate my a$$"

A photo of you in like sport bra biking/playing soccer is on your profile. The one you're asking about looks fine to me, I think you need to tag or contact a moderator about it, because we didn't take down your photo and can't tell you why.

  • Good point.

Like @Lovelight says, we're just fellow users of the site—and as far as I know, nobody commenting here has reported any of your photos. Honestly, whoever did that might not even be active on the forums (many users aren't).

The mods would be the ones to ask. All we can do is guess... and report more shirtless men, 'cause letting them flout site rules like that is not conducive to equality.

And it’s being removed here, too. And this just earned you time out from the forums.
This one was also removed…..I’m at a damn beach with my jumper on 🙄

  • some people on this site would be shivved in prison for snitching =)

  • I don't see a jumper in the photo. I do see a swimsuit top on the beach, which would seem to fall within site guidelines.

I am becoming curious, though: did your photos mainly feature you in bras and bra-style tops?

I am new to the site and not sure how to say this best. For a platonic site many profiles have suggestive pictures ( Kissy faces, cleavage close ups etc.) And while I agree that men should not be topless, I also know that if a man showed a picture in such tight shorts it would be deleted but the equivalent on a woman is allowed. So there are inconsistencies on both ends.

Its clear to me that attraction plays a part in this site as many people have multiple pictures of being all dressed up which people state is not how they will be cuddling, unless im naive and way more people are providing more than platonic cuddling. Additionally the site asks for orientation and gender preferences. So there seems to be this delicate balance of attraction, compatability and connection but not taking it further than that. Some of my thoughts about it

  • @DaringSprinter absolutely not, this is the extent of it ….the ones from my chest up were removed.

  • @RockRollCuddle this site is a community, not a prison. There are no "guards". The mods are members of the community. There are not faceless bureaucrats, they are people we already know and love. People who have broken the Terms of Service have either made an honest mistake (in which case it can be corrected) or are trying to attack or undermine our community.

@Drea728 the mods are human, and occasionally they make mistakes. The workload they are under is much higher than it appears to us: for example there are large numbers of applications to become a professional which, upon being examined, are rejected immediately. If you think a mistake has been made, contact them politely and ask for second opinion. For what it's worth (which is nothing!) I think your photos are lovely. The site does [in certain appropriate circumstances] distinguish between men and women but it does not consciously discriminate, at least no more than society at large.

@Leyhill the site doesn't actively police its content because it is not a content provider. It's the same reason that the phone company doesn't actively monitor your phone calls. Additionally, it is a small enterprise and does not (and can not) have the resources to examine everything. Furthermore, this site is a community: although the site rules are technically set by the management, the management is part of the community too, and responds to its moods and opinions. The Terms of Service are tweaked from time to time in response to community concerns. Lastly, social networking sites never police everything that appears on them themselves: that isn't a thing.

Everybody should always report any photo they think is inappropriate. Vast numbers of shirtless men photos are removed.
