  • @FireAndBlue  That was a very well worded appropriate post.  Besides the specific two you are referring to, I could easily name two others.

  • One idea I would love to see is a section where users can be the check-in person for other users. This would be volunteer only, of course, and not a condition for using the site. I know I would appreciate being able to check-in more with people here rather than worrying my friends/family every time I have a session, and I'd be happy to be the emergency contact for other fellow cuddlers that want it as a safety precaution.
  • That's a great idea Emily.

Emily, I see one potential problem with that idea. If it is only private to people you trust really well, not bad.  I think if it something where everybody see then it could be a problem for someone who might want to stalk or even rob someone.  Oh, so and so is not home and John Doe cuddled at your home and you are out guesting, would know who to rob.  I am not sure I would want that info so public.
  •  I'm assuming it would kind of be like a volunteer list. Not everybody would get the notifications on the entire site. You would find someone in your area,  contact them or maybe more than one and see if they would be OK with being your emergency contact person for such and such a time on such and such a date. Then only those people would be contacted.  Here's the thing,  A pro can already kind of set some things up that way for themselves. If you do a search  around your area and specified that you only  want to look for pros within a certain distance, you will find  other pros around in your area!  You can then talk to them and possibly become emergency call people or better yet friends!  Long-distance friends are cool too but for an emergency contact I think someone close would probably be better.
  • @navyvet76 - I agree it wouldn't be a good idea to publically post exactly where/when. I was thinking more that it would be a place to connect people who are wanting to use a check-in person, and then they can communicate the details privately.
  • @Emily414 lol  I think you and I were probably typing at the same time! LOL
  • @Snuggle554321 - Yes! Great minds ;)
It's cool that feature is there already. Might just be nice to have the added feature of a volunteer list so that people don't have to message lots of others nearby until they find someone willing. It could even just be a thread on the forums here. I'll start something and we can see where it goes.

Two suggestions - they're linked. Stop showing every time someone views you. Once is enough. And have a list of people you've viewed. Otherwise, people can end up looking like stalkers - maybe they don't remember who they've viewed, or they want to have another look, or they go back to see if someone has added any text etc.
    Otherwise, great site.

The block function should hide posts by that person like I said a few posts ago. Recently a few people have viewed my profile and have blocked it. But blocking has no use other than the other not seeing your profile or pming you. I don't click on or pm these people so I really don't know what they get out of it.

Most of those people tend to be sources of problems on forums so I think that option itself would solve more conflicts on forums and make life easier on Mark and our new moderator
  • My experience is that the blocking function only effects private messages and will prevent someone from blowing up your in box with insulting messages. I've only ever had to use it once because I was getting such messages from England in the morning, England time and much earlier my time. Posts in the forum, are much easier to ignore since I don't get notifications. The only thing that I would have changed is that once someone chooses to block someone else, they should also be blocked from the other person. Otherwise, the sending of PM's can be one way. This particular person had already blocked me although I had never sent him a PM. Looks like it was a planned strategy. Blocking was easy and effective. He eventually self destruct by getting himself fully banned from the site.
  • I am a non union manager with union employees at a very union strong location. Management and the union butt heads all the time and we have had some all out wars. I have been handed up to 40 grievances at one time that I've had to meet on. In the end though, we always manage to work things out because we know that working together is in all of our best interests. I personally feel that working disagreements out is a bigger victory for the greater good than simply blocking someone. As long as both sides are willing to work things out and can come together with the best intentions, opposing sides can come to a resolution. I am always willing to work things out.
  • @MrSoloDolo  That being the case, you should have no problem in making the posts i suggested in our PM exchange.
  • Hi..
I would a way to delete messages that you and the person no longer will chat. Or archive?
Maybe folders..to put them in categorizes. Just to help organize it.
Or am my asking too much? Lol
  • @aya12 You can already do this. Click on the Messages tab to bring up all your conversations.  Click on a particular sender in the list to open that conversation. Once it's open, you'll see a "delete conversation" button toward the upper right of your screen. Presto!  Gone.

Pros can't delete messages yet for record keeping purposes. However, the function is being added for Pros in a couple of weeks for the purpose of tidying their inboxes.

Regarding technicial issues rather than site features...
    1. When typing a post on the forum, sometimes the keyboard focus disappears from the text window I'm typing in, resulting in the last however many keystrokes being lost, and having to use the mouse to re-position the keyboard focus and cursor to where I left off typing.

    2. The avatars next to people's posts in the forum appear only if I have the browser window maximised. If I click the 'restore' button to get a re-sizeable browser window, all avatars disappear.

    3. When they are visible, the avatars are hard up against the left edge of the screen, in fact they appear to be partly obscured by being over to the left too much, such that part of the avatar isn't visible. It would be nicer to have a little bit of blank space between the left edge of the window and the left edge of the avatar.

Point number 1 is getting really annoying. It's happened numerous times during the time I was composing this message.

  • I totally agree with your point number 1.  I don't have the same problem at all with the avatars disappearing, and there is plenty of space to the left of them.  Maybe your problem has to do with your browser, and/or the magnification level?

I think it might invite more people if the man/woman part of the profile were replaced with simple pronouns like "he/him,she/her,they/them"

One suggestion that I have is that in the status section of a profile you offer an option of widowed.

As I am very recently widowed I have a hard time choosing single. Even though that is the closest thing to my belief of my status.

    Thanks for a great site
and a place to offer suggestions ,

I'm using Firefox 51.0.1 browser. There's definitely something weird going on with the avatars. I have Windows Vista, and have the start bar vertically on the left of the screen instead of on the bottom. I just set the start bar to auto-hide, and the avatars show in full when the window is maximised, and they have plenty of space to the left of them. If I click "restore" to get a re-sizeable window and re-size the window to be the same size as when the start bar is showing, the avatars are partly obscured by the left edge of the window. But if I reduce the width of the window to about 90% of the window's width, the avatars are suddenly fully visible again with plenty of space to their left. If I reduce the window's width more and more, the space to the left of the avatar reduces until the avatar eventually starts to disappear behind the left edge of the window, until completely gone. And if I reduce the window's width some more at that point, the avatars re-appear with lots of space to their left again! If I then reduce the window's width more, the avatars again gradually disappear and, once I'm down to a window width about 50% of the screen's width, the avatars remain gone and the text window re-sizes to keep a few pixels of blank space between it and both left and right edges of the window.
I could blame Firefox for this, but I'm gonna guess it's something to do with how this website's code is set up.
  • I'm using Firefox 53.0.3, Windows 8.1, and don't have those problems.  It sounds like it might have something to do with the start bar being on the left instead of at the bottom.  On the other hand, I'm about as tech unsavy as they come, so what do I know.
    ♥jim
  • @Frankincense Windows Vista is no longer patched by Microsoft, so you are likely falling behind on compatibility. Also, Firefox 51.0.1 is quite a few versions older than the current 53.0.3. Try updating Firefox if they still support Vista. If they dont see if any other browsers still support Vista. Google Chrome stopped supporting Vista a while back.
  • Thanks. =) That is wonderful. Yeah even if it just archiving or to another folder. But cant wait till it is added. I missed returning a message because all the ones I wont be messaging with again are in the way.

Oh and i dont get notified when someone returns an answer on the form. Will that change in the future also?

I mostly use my cell so not sure if it is different on a pc.

You guys are great. Thanks =)

@aya12 You should receive a notification in your email every time someone replies to you, is that not happening? Please check your spam/junk folder.

@Frankincense I'll try and look into this soon. I've never had that issue personally but then again I do most testing on Chrome due to market share (Chrome 61.2%, Firefox 6.3%).

@C8H7N3O2 I've fixed the drink field. Thanks.
  • [Deleted User]Frankincense (deleted user)
@Mark Thanks Mark, hope you can find the cause. I've just updated to firefox 52.1.2 and the problem is still there. The issue with the avatar is only a minor cosmetic annoyance compared to the other problem I mentioned in an earlier post, about the keyboard focus disappearing from the text box while typing a post, resulting in the last however many keystrokes being lost and having to use the mouse to re-acquire keyboard focus and re-position the cursor to the point where typing ended. Others have mentioned this issue as well so this one is not limited to Vista and/or Firefox users.

I don't know if I'm the only one to think this, but the photo that you see on the front page before you sign in (showing a guy and a girl on a couch watching a movie and holding hands) doesn't seem to properly represent what this website is about. Sure, they're cuddling, but the way they're cuddling suggests (to me at least) that they're a dating/romantic couple, rather than platonic cuddlers. Also, the smirk on the guy's face is a tad creepy (as if he's thinking "yeah... gonna score later tonight!").
I know it's very subjective and maybe I'm the only one who thinks so, or perhaps others also think a different picture would be better. What that better picture would be, I don't know, but that could be the subject of another thread, with suggestions given and perhaps a prize for the winning suggestion. :-)

Yeah, @Frankincense, I think it's you. LOL  If two people cuddling on a couch look too romantic, how would a picture of people cuddling in bed look?  I also notice the guy's smirk, but I don't read a lot into it. Maybe he's smirking at the experience of watching a romantic comedy. Or maybe this is a scary movie he's seen before, and he knows the scene she is watching so contentedly is about to change when Something Evil jumps out of the closet. In any case, I find nothing terribly romantic about two people who have their attention glued to a TV screen rather than to each other. But that's just me, and of course, reactions to photos --- like reactions to books, music, or visual art --- are all subjective.  So unless you want photos of nursing staff providing therapeutic cuddling to frail seniors ... or of an Amish couple cuddling each other from different zip codes ... you're going to wind up with something with potentially romantic overtones, since cuddling is an intimate activity. All of this is said in good fun, of course; no offense is intended toward frail seniors or Amish people.  Or you.

Now as for your other suggestion, I agree 100% --- the cursor issues when typing in here (especially when backspacing or deleting) are consistently awful. The fix can't come soon enough.

I think the tv photo is fine . But there is a photo somewhere , with the female wearing just panties , ok for non pro , but not for pro ( or keep it secret )
