Booking proposal response etiquette

Am I being unreasonable to expect some kind of response to my booking proposal--either an Accept or a Decline-- that I send to a pro between 24-36 hours before my proposed time?

It seems this recent crop of novice "professionals" don't bother responding at all, leaving me to wonder if I'm going to enjoy a cuddle session or not. Within a few hours of my proposed time, and still with no confirmation received, I haven't the time to book with someone else, nor do I want to inadvertently double-book two pros should the first one finally Accept my proposal at the last minute.

Does CuddleComfort send periodic reminders to pros who have booking proposals waiting in the queue? Leaving a potential client hanging doesn't seem very professional to me.

  • have you had a conversation with these people or are you sending a booking request as the initial ask?

The people on this site might have lives outside of here . Other jobs , families , social stuff etc . So if you dont get a response move on to someone else . May want to try giving more that 24 or 35 hr advance planning, and send to more than 1 person at a time just in case .

  • Did you message them first? I assume you did and you are simply asking about getting confirmation when the appointment is near, but just in case…I always message them first, introducing myself, and letting them get to know me and vet me before discussing a time that works with our schedules. I don’t use the book feature until we have both decided on the time and place. I have not had any issues meeting up after that.

  • No, I always converse with the pro several times via message before booking. I might not ultimately book with them, but I never send a booking out of the blue without having messaged back and forth first.

  • @Charlie_Bear Yes, that's basically what I do. With the new professionals (those joined in July 2022) I haven't messaged them a specific day or time (yet), but have based my proposal on the day/time they tell me they're available. But that's a good idea, I'll start doing as you suggest.

And, I never had any of these issues with pros who've been on CC for a while. So, it's possible the new ones are still learning the ropes, so to speak. Or are overwhelmed with proposals.

  • @Tom2019 I’m sorry to hear about the lack of responsiveness you’ve encountered. You have a great profile and karma and hope you connect with someone quickly. I’ve messaged you with a couple of personal recommendations of pros in Austin whom I know are professional, responsive and amazing. Hope this helps 😊✌️

    Agree with @Charlie_Bear

  • This is pretty common; in fact see this thread from a couple days ago about a similar thing:

    https://www.cuddlecomfort.com/forum/discussion/14514/is-is-scheduling-or-a-lack-of-interest

You mention it as a recent phenomenon, but it's been this way for years.

FWIW, my usual thing is to say "I'd like a session, and here are 3 times over the next week that would work for me." Then I send the booking proposal once she agrees to a time. People don't necessarily come to the site every single day, so if you just send a proposal for 24 hours out, there's a decent chance she won't see it in time.

  • I will send the booking proposal if I have to, but I resist it. I prefer the professional to send it to me for prescisely the reasons you describe.

If I do send it, I do it as part of a conversation and I would normally expect it to be accepted with a very few hours. I would never send it until the session was firmly and finally arranged, such that even if the proposal was not accepted (obviously I would chase) I would turn up on time and expect the professional to be there.

For me, it's never come anywhere close to the wire. But then this kind of thing goes a better here in London than it does on average across the site.

Booking accepted or no, I confirm every appointment of any kind the night before or morning of. Life lesson no. 23 that is.
