I don’t know if I’d thank him for those added months though. I think he may have done a disservice to our concept of time. If indeed it’s more accurate to have 10 months to a year and not 12. Or even 9.

I’d be open to 10 too, but there’s something about 9. Something between 9 and 10. Like 0 and 1. 10 being a resetting factor of 0. Almost like it’s not really supposed to exist. Except to distinguish one level from the next. Like steps. The step itself is counted but the space to make room for it isn’t.
You can count 10 fingers but on a ruler there’s a 0 pt edge. Almost as if 1-9 is a space apart - distinct.

The concept of sonder 🤔
For nearly all of my life I've lived in small towns where at a glance you could accurately read every story every person you saw just by the looks on their faces. Stories of struggle and loss, ignorance and emptiness, desperation and making the most of things. All valid and even beautiful in their way, but it always left me feeling so stifled and stagnant, but I didn't know any other way to be. Even knowing they all lived lives as full and complex as mine didn't hit quite as hard because they were all so similar to my own life. So I genuinely believed that everyone was like that everywhere until I ran away to a big city.
In cities the stories being told all at once on the faces of the people as they rush by feel anything but stagnant, it feels like standing in the center of a symphony, the wild variation of emotions and tells, cares, joys, beliefs and judgements all boldly show on every face and I catch glimpses into worlds I could never have even dreamed of. So for me, as sad as it is that I will never know the details of the vast majority of the stories being told all around me, whenever I'm feeling hopeless or stuck, isolated and lonely all I have to do is stand there in that flow again, let it wash over me like a strong river trying to pull me into it's current. That feeling of sonder helps me remember I'm not alone, just the existence of those stories I'll never hear grounds me like nothing else I've found and I think that's beautiful ☺️

I guess this is an obscure thought I sent to NASA: Experiment and question: If you place a beachball/basketball/ maybe even something heavier like a 100lb exercise ball in your space station which then has little to no influence by gravity, glue tiny rocket on the side, while still attached to the ball during entire thrust phase, wont the ball change trajectory? This scenerio compared to attaching booster rockets to the side of the Earth for testing over long periods of time change Earths trajectory, axis, tilt, spin however small of change we can detect?
