No, I always speak and write with words regardless of the medium instead of assuming that people know an entire second vocabulary of abbreviations. I know that I'm communicating as clearly as possible that way.

You think this is bad you should work in the defense industry or military. Everything there is an acronym.

Masterofcuddle no doubt. I remember those daysm. It was like inception. Initialisms snd acronyms with others inbedded in layers

I worked for Xerox for 10 years. They have acronyms for acronyms, and everything has 2-4 names that might be abbreviated. That makes for needlessly complicated and unclear communication, wastes time with people trying to search for information under multiple search terms, and wastes money from people being unable to locate information that could have saved errors and needless parts replacements. In general the more complicated things are, the more expensive they are in multiple ways. Using clear, consistent language is supremely efficient.

Dear All can we go back to the thread, Tipping, We in NZ do not understand tipping as we have laws which protect low paid workers, IE the slavery act, There is a standard that all,all,all employers will conform to. Even as a contractor there are laws, There is a minimum wage to be paid based on age/employment term/trade papers, even Mcdonalds/KFC tried it on and failed having to pay dearly.
To ask for a tip is not even thought of, restaurant staff can be paid the minimum wage but if they are good at there job and build a repoire with the customer which makes the customer come back time and again, they get a bonus based there abilities,
The most valuable asset a restaurant can have it its staff.
Professional cuddling staff, massage staff are paid a wage which is way above the unemployment benefit ($21,000), you have to have some training and prove you understand the body and gain certification, the wages for a proven staff members is $45,000 per year rising to $80,000 NZD tax is paid.
So there is a chance that people can make a reasonable living Cuddling/massaging, but if you work for a health board, all of you clients are going to be aged and if you can understand and survive that, then you will make a living.

Personally I would never have a tip jar out or ask for tips. You wouldn't tip a chiropractor or psychologist, would you? Something to think about.
