    @FunCartel

    What is Sexualized about the word "chick?" I don't want to have sex with a chicken.

    Also, are the words "dude" and "guy" acceptable, or are they also cringey, sexualized slang? This is a genuine question, even if it sounds stupid

    @cuddlewithKyle I will refer you to @xelda ‘s excellent post on this thread about the word. Better to learn from a woman on this matter than me. Just keep an open mind. And as she points out—context, context, context.

  • I think the OP needs to understand that during a session of course the pro is going to be invested in your conversation and you guys are probably going to be laughing together and your going to be close and both have a great time. This is part of the service being provided, I think many of us men having a hard time understanding that after the cuddle session ends that is the end of the interaction. Pro’s obviously care about their clients and making sure they have a good time and as client’s we need to enjoy that time and respect and understand the boundaries that are involved in a cuddle session and that interaction and make sure pros feel safe during and after a session.

  • @cuddlewithKyle : if it's not sexualized then we know that it's sexist. And do you believe that dude bro really have the same connotation as chick? I feel like you know it doesn't. Also he literally opens his thread with that within the first paragraph.

    I think @FunCartel is actually being very nice to you.

  • Getting back to the original topic...

    I am having a similar experience as the OP. I am booking with a professional NOT associated with this site, and am experiencing feelings of attachment, although they are not of a romantic nature. I'm not exactly sure how to classify them. It is troublesome, however.

    I appreciate the thorough assessment by @CuddleDuncan ! This has given me some great 'food for thought', and I am going to look more into transference, and ways of coping with this. I really want to deal with this before it becomes more of an issue. I haven't said anything to my professional, but I believe they suspect something as it is getting harder to book an appointment. I don't want this to become a problem for me or the professional.

    The one thing that I do find difficult is to book with other cuddlers. It is just my nature to feel as though I am being disloyal to my preferred cuddler. This is something else I have to overcome.

    Even though @CuddleDuncan gave some very good advice, I hope that others can share their tips, tricks, and experiences of coping with transference.

  • @Europa You may want to look into OCD, regarding that feeling of disloyalty. I deal with that in various settings, though thankfully cuddling isn't one of them.

    P.S. You can add me to the list - I don't mind being called a "chick", either. 😊 Long live The Beach Boys! 🌊

  • @pmalloy I know the feeling. Depending on the personality and maturity of that cuddler, you may be able to discuss your feelings with her, without making her feel uncomfortable or awkward. I think it's beneficial to be able to let go of those emotions, and not let them continue to build up inside you. I can't speak for her, obviously, but I'm inclined to think she wouldn't mind at all helping you let go of those feelings by talking about them openly and honestly.

    @CuddleDuncan Your post on transference is really, very interesting. I'm going to look more into that.

    However, I had a similar situation as @pmalloy in that I was feeling great affection towards one particular cuddler. This has never happened with any of my other cuddlers. But I find her to be absolutely fascinating, well-spoken, an interesting background, highly intelligent, etc. So, in my case, I don't think it was transference.

    @achetocuddle @SunsetSnuggles You two are absolutely awesome chicks!

    nope, I have no experienced this at all. Not trying to sound like a badass or anything, but I'm 100% down with platonic cuddling. I consider myself on friendly terms with every single pro I have cuddled with, and I even do have my favorite cuddler. The fact that I am this approachable without getting attached is probably why my sessions are so fulfilling. I do not feel withdraw at all. In fact, I had not cuddled in a couple months and my favorite pinged me out of the blue to see how I was doing. I figured, hey I am overdue for a cuddler so we cuddled on Saurday.

    But yes, the best suggestion is switch cuddle mates. I'm not sure I've cuddled with the same person twice in a row since I started. I'd have to think about that...haha.
