For Profiles, Body photos only! Because it’s Platonic Only…

edited March 2023 in General

Is this a terrible idea?? For everyone on the site
- Male, Female, Pro, Enthusiast - photos are fully clothed and cropped above shoulders. We would all see gender and body type, because choices are mainly based on that. Would this discourage (even slightly) Cuddlers looking for someone they feel sexually attracted to?
I would love to hear everyone’s opinion. (Please be nice, I don’t mean to start an argument. I’m just curious.
Edited to point out that before booking a session, of course you do your normal vetting process for your own safety. Everyone would still be selective but invest more effort in choosing a Cuddler.

@carrieanne you cannot judge gender identity by body type.

I think we should leave the photos on our profiles with our faces. I don’t like the idea of my headless body being broadcast on the internet.

  • I feel like body photos would objectify us even more. Well, I say us, but I don’t really have to worry about being objectified myself 😑

  • There is a term, "Butterface", so from a male perspective, I don't think this would help, at all. From a female perspective, yes, I believe women are more attracted to the face than the body.

For the record, my pictures do not show my face because I don't like the idea of being recognized by relatives or co-workers. I send face shots to people I get to know, all the time, though. 😊

  • If anything I think this would have the opposite effect. Men often find a woman’s body more sexually stimulating than her facial appearance, and a body photo with the head cropped out can seem like it’s specifically created to arouse.

  • Let's just remove all photos completely and everyone describes what they look like.

Some people can't see a foot and not think certain thoughts. Not that there's anything wrong with it in a private non CC setting. Point being I think it probably wouldn't work. I like the thought behind it but having been asked my shoe size several times now... I think we'd be better off posting pictures of our favorite flowers. Mine are forget me nots. Fun facts.

  • I would not cuddle with anyone without seeing their face. Nor would I expect them to cuddle me without seeing mine.

Ok, interesting because wasn’t sure how people would take this idea. Some men say they have felt rejected and I think they mean because of looks. Maybe I’m wrong.
I also thought more people would post photos because they would be anonymous without their face showing. Also everyone constantly says it’s about the body type, looks dont matter.
And people are going to be objectified for one reason or another, we can’t control how others think.
Those worrying about their body being on the internet, well no one knows it’s you so who cares. I personally prefer a certain body type to cuddle but as a Pro I cuddle everyone no matter what!
Again, we want to be anonymous, body type matters more, we shouldn’t be looking for a pretty face, still seems ok to me.
Edited to point out that you still can require privately, face photos obviously for safety reasons.

  • @Mr_Cuddle_Bear of course I wouldn’t either!! I think that’s stating the obvious. I guess I should’ve made that clear in my post, you would request and require whatever you want before booking.
This is for purpose of Profile viewing only. Please everyone, use common sense!

well, I don't mind showing face pics. Because if a platonic or pro cuddler is going to turn me down or ignore me based on looks, then they are not being honest to themselves about their intent. (unless they specifically state looks are important on their profile.) I don't mind being rejected, I just hate being ignored so it has nothing to do with my looks.

  • @carrieanne honestly I still to this day feel like as a men rejection has little to do with appearance in a photo as we always try to show our best sides and ones we feel most comfortable.

Men in my opinion get rejected mostly because they are contacting non pro and their inbox is flooded. Regardless of picture, I have a friends who was on here with no photo who couldn't keep up with messages and men being very demanding of a non pros time. Patience which most of us could do more would help. Then lack of effort to send an opening message and lack of a filled out profile. Then I would love to say a small percent with the messages that are not acceptable. So of course with all that reject from women is high.

Things that could do better to fix this is being able to put limits to profile lengths to send a message. Like make people make the time to fill out a profile before messaging.

Its just my two cents. I would be lying if I said i didn't stop on some cuddlers just because I thought they were pretty. Yes I know this isn't sexual and this is platonic but as with most things are more comfortable to trusting to people they find attractive this is been proven in non sexual ways over and over.

  • @BlackKalel thanks for your ideas, I like the possibilities. Honestly I was just trying to think of a low tech way to fix some of the issues.

  • Lowest tech way to fix would be to make profile be filled out lol before finishing. But this isn't designed to control the experience.

There is good and bad with everything. Rejection is part of life.

    Not a bad idea

  • I am tired of my airplane being objectified.

  • @carrieanne I also don't think it would work, but I like that you have tried to put some thought into how to make things better for us. Very nice.

    @Mike403 LOL.

  • I think some people might feel more self conscious with a body pic than of their face . Not everyone embraces their buddha belly like I do

  • I'd never meet anyone here without seeing their face first. It's a matter of safety and not judgement. Keep in mind that there are people that will sexualize an armpit. 🤷‍♀️

@achetocuddle how about pictures with guys holding a fish preferably shirtless lol 😂

  • makes zero sense

  • This sounds more of a personal perspective. Not everyone is going to agree or disagree. People have different perspectives as well as how they want to express themselves. Pictures tell a lot also. Especially eyes. Some people will do this as a choice. Others won't. Some don't even post a picture.

Nope, I have to see your eyes. Don't give a diddly squat what your body looks like.

  • @lonelytauros No, No, a thousand times no! LOL.

  • Im a forehead guy. Thats all I need to see to know everything I need to know from your favorite cereal to what type of socks your wear.
    Im a very intuitive gentleman.
