What is your favorite equation containing π?
Mine is e^iπ+1=0 because it links the imaginary number i with Eulerβs number e and π, as well as zero!
Well I know all of them. I just don't know the order.
My favorite equation doesn't involve pi - and I must confess that I don't have any digits beyond 3.14 memorized because, well, because I can look it up if needed.
But anyways, my favorite equation is A = P(e)^rt
The number of letters in each word of the following sentence gives you the first 15 digits of π.
How I want a drink, alcoholic of course, after the heavy lectures involving quantum mechanics.
Electrical engineering is full of important equations using e, but not so many using π. My favorite equation involving π, is T = 2ΟβL/g, where T is the period of a pendulum, L is the length, and g is the universal gravitational constant.
Solving for length, we get L=gT^2/4π^2. Being a birder, I know that the period at which a bird (or most any other flying creature) flaps its wings is approximately the same as the period of a pendulum of the same length. This is a good way to estimate the size of a distant bird in flight, and that can help in determining the identification of the bird.
I like this topic shows up on CC π will keep reading all following comments
I've always liked that clock @ChessGirl . Thanks to @dave31415 I know 5 digits of pi, Lol.. @MrPaul, your fave equation is definitely one of my faves, I think. @GreatHornedOwl, it's fascinating to see you apply an equation to birding.
How could anyone not value education after reading a thread like this? How could anyone not like Pi Day? You get to eat pie! ha ha
It'd be nice if you could just react to the post or comments like other platforms. I get that this forces interaction but so many times I'd rather just smile and hit the "like button". Happy Pi day everyone! Make it a blessed one π
I definitely know everything that everyone is talking about here.
@Charlie_Bear THAT'S what I should have said, LOL.
I don't know if I have a favorite equation, but I sure am trying to find out what pi day deals are going on today. π

@MrAdmirer That's clever. Wish I thought of that
I luv this thread.
