Cuddles turned Love Connection?

Before y’all come at me with torches and pitch forks… I KNOW this is not what this site is about at all. That’s not what anyone should be on here for.

However, I’m just curious if there are any sweet stories about people finding love on here? I can imagine it happening easily if you share a good connection, have great conversations, and both of you understand the value and importance of physical touch.

I’m not talking sexual relationships… I’m talking actually finding a romantic partner that you’ve fallen in love with because you met for cuddles first.

I’m just curious. I also hope this post doesn’t turn into anything that will require mods to step in. 🙄

New here in this site but a friend found a partner in a cuddle party few years back. Sadly, this site seems mostly about professional cuddlers though.

Love has many definitions. If we can include an enduring friendship with someone we care deeply about, then … yes.

The majority of people on this site are those who cannot find someone to give them a hug…

    And you’re asking about relationships.

  • There have been a couple of people that found love here a few years ago and they announced it here. But it grew organically. So yes, it happens despite the intent of the site. You can never legislate or oversee human emotions, nor should that happen.

  • A live look outside! C'mon, I gotta get you outta here... we can still make it out the back door! 😆

Well.. I have a story - though it isn’t mine to tell - so I’m not telling :-)

The short answer is - yes, it has happened.

  • Yes, I know many people that initially met just for cuddles and eventually progressed to a long term relationship over time (which is technically legal on the site, key points are first meeting for just cuddles and progressed to a relationship over time, not prior to or during the first meeting).

I can easily see this happening. As someone who identifies as a demisexual, this is nothing I need more than a true connection with someone in order to develop feelings. There is nothing better than a one hour cuddling session to get to know someone better. And if you become a repeat customer....yeah it might almost be a logical leap if you both connect.

Since I'm in my 50's, I've yet to cuddle with anyone really close to my age because most pros are a lot younger. I've never even come close to having any feelings like that. My first cuddler was more than half my age and we've cuddled a couple of times. So of course, now I know her a lot more personally because she has opened up to me, and I really like her. She is so sweet and has a great heart. I almost feel like a fatherly figure to her, especially because she no longer is in contact with her dad for reasons I wont discuss here. I like to give her advice and feel protective of her. And not in a creepy way at all.

  • @Joisonthego Definately agree with you on the fight to keep cuddling platonic. No matter how hard I tried to do that, the guys I’ve met on here try to turn it romantic, then come back at me for themselves getting too involved. They will come back and blame me for wanting more, and I’m befuddled because I made no move beyond platonic. It’s really frustrating and why I’m not pushing this any further.

  • [Deleted User]MrAdmirer (deleted user)

@cerealboxes84 I also agree. That's why I have told other people who reach out to me to try other cuddlers so as to not become dependent on any particular cuddler. I've even discussed this with those whom I've cuddled with so they know I take platonic cuddling 100 percent seriously. I can see definitely see how someone could easily think more because a lot of us who use the site are lonely to begin with. It's the same went I went to a few bachelor parties to strip clubs. (never been into the scene) I used to get a kick out of the guys who actually thought the stripper "liked" them.

  • I think long term romantic relationships/marriages can occur here (as well as on any other website) through CC.
I know of couples who connected through Facebook and became romantically involved long term in the end. It can happen, sure. 😊But I didn't join with the "expectation" of finding a long term romantic partner, I joined up to cuddle with like-minded people...And nothing more!😌

If it genuinely happens… perhaps will be beautiful … the probability is too low

  • [Deleted User]WriterGF (deleted user)

@MrAdmirer Not into the strip club scene either, but from what I have read, strippers and some sex workers (particularly phone and cam) are trained to make customers think they're interested. It keeps customers coming back and giving bigger tips.

  • [Deleted User]MrAdmirer (deleted user)

@WriterGF true. I used to bartend and the same rules apply. However, I guess my point should have been more clear - it's easy for a person to take what is meant as a platonic act and give it more meaning. It happens with friendships too. But, there is ALWAYS that slim chance that it could go further with both parties. :)

"Empathy is not endorsement." - Dylan Marron

I believe we can make space for empathy
without being so militant while still having our own boundaries. I think going so hardcore anti-sex, anti-romance is going to hurt us in the long run as aren't we supposed to be about friendliness, support, compassion, empathy? Shouldn't we model what we preach?

It is entirely possible to have very strict, firm boundaries about remaining platonic without edging into shaming those who do come here seeking sex or love, either because they were misinformed or lack the social skills to know the difference (after all our society generally teaches adult cuddles = sex/romance), or because they really did intentionally come here hoping to pull a fast one. And even those trying to be manipulative are largely doing so because that is what they have been taught they have to. Shaming them isn't going to make them stop - it's only going to make them sneakier or more angry.

"I only do platonic, non-sexual, non-romantic cuddles. Seeing as this website aligns with that definition of platonic cuddling, you may have better luck seeking a partner elsewhere."

Using a line like that firmly states your boundary, defines what platonic means, reiterates and points them towards the TOS they agreed to, and gently nudges them towards other platforms in the event they are here in good faith. We don't have to allow people to walk all over our boundaries or cause harm to us and others, but we also don't have to assume the worst in them and perpetuate the cycle that led them here.

This is the one outcome I'm hoping doesn't happen when I meet someone from this site.

  • [Deleted User]CuddlelessinLB (deleted user)

@HugsySiegel I knew I should have just kept my mouth shut! 😂

@CharlesInWI Lonely person on CC meets other lonely person on CC, both have a need they have not been able to fulfill prior to joining this site… how is that inconceivable? 🤨

@FunCartel And yes, that’s the kind of relationship that I meant… something that happened organically. Neither party went in expecting it but love bloomed nonetheless.

I guess I’m just a sucker for a good love story. sigh

  • [Deleted User]CuddlelessinLB (deleted user)

@Unsmiley I hope, for your sake, that it doesn’t.

  • [Deleted User]CuddlelessinLB (deleted user)

    @cuddlefaery Well stated! 👏🏽

  • [Deleted User]CharlesInWI (deleted user)

    @CuddlelessinLB

The law of large numbers means it must have happened, and probably more than once.

But, again, the majority of people that visit this site never find anyone.

And that’s of the people that do stick around.

Add in the people that sign up, and stop checking after a week, or month, and that goes from majority to vast majority.

  • As a client, I personally don't support expanding this site beyond platonic cuddling to include people looking for sex or romance.

Sure, these are human desires, but there are a million places online to find both, with all the baggage and issues associated. The beauty of platonic cuddling sessions is that you are protected against the damage that comes from broken trust in romantic relationships. Platonic cuddles are a unique kind of connection with no jealousy, future faking, cheating, or obligations beyond the time you spend together now.

Also, I believe holding strong platonic boundaries is basically incompatible with romantic desire. When people start allowing themselves to develop feelings, things often go off the rails, and it's near impossible to go platonic again. That's another reason why I support a strong platonic-only focus for CC rather than treating this site as another dating or hookup app. People won't be able to understand the basic concept of platonic cuddling unless we encourage boundaries to be strictly kept.

  • @cde123 The OP was not talking about treating it like a dating or hook-up site. She was asking if two people ever fell in love. It has happened because well emotions happen sometimes whether the “guardrails” are up or not.

    @cde123
Can you show me where I suggested we expand the site to include dating or hooking up??

Can we PLEASE stick to the topic at hand and stop adding your own spin on to what I originally posted!

If you’ve never known anyone to meet their significant other through CC, or you personally don’t know of any instances where two people organically fell in love through meeting on here, then please… for the love of all things cuddly… don’t post.

This was in no way to endorse, encourage, or condone romantic, sexual, or any other type of relationship outside of the platonic.

It was a question that was meant to be sweet, but like many threads on here, has turned to complaining and completely missing the entire point of the post. 🙄

This is why we can’t have nice things. 🤦🏽‍♀️

  • [Deleted User]CuddlelessinLB (deleted user)

Mods, you can lock this thread up now if you’d like. No one else needs to contribute their drivel.

  • [Deleted User]Mman (deleted user)

@CuddlelessinLB I think the answer to your question is yes. People fall in love after meeting at work, at the gym, coffee shop, zoo, doctors office and other places. Of course that is not the intention of this site but que sera sera.

  • @CuddlelessinLB
As someone that watches The Holiday every year, I would like to submit Jack Black as one of the cuddle-less but lovable enthusiasts in the upcoming this-is-not-supposed-to-be-a-rom-com rom-com.

  • I can say that's exactly what happened to me. I never found a cuddle partner, however I mentioned this site to a female friend of mine of many years. She started to bring up the idea of cuddling to me, and eventually I warmed to the idea. We ended up cuddling and it pretty quickly turned into more. Its been months now and its great, we're in a serious relationship now and both very happy. We were already really close friends, now were just way closer. So yeah it happens. It was ironic because the first time we cuddled she had told me she didnt expect anything to become of it (we were both drinking) but we both liked it and so tried it again. Drinking or not, it felt right :)

  • For the old timers on here , you may remember we had a thread from two members that met here and fell in love and got married. They were very upfront about how it happened and they were not here for that purpose at all but.... and announced to the community that they were deleting their accounts and riding off into the sunset so to speak. This was like 2015-2016 I believe. Hopefully one of our super sleuth members can find the thread from then. @CuddlelessinLB yeah it was a good love story for sure of two members meeting here.
