Do you put peanut butter and jelly on two different slices of bread or put PBJ on the same bread then throw the blank slice on top?
Peanut butter on both slices, a little smoosh of jelly between.
And then the pb&j gets sandwiched between two grilled cheese sandwiches.
With a scoop of ice cream.
@CharlesInWI lol very creative holy wow that i think im going to try that tonight!!
Just get Goober and you don't have to decide
I never really eat peanut butter and jelly. I eat bread with actual butter and sometimes even beef tallow. I usually use dark rye bread and I sometimes add cayenne pepper to the mix.
Try a grilled pb&j and thank me later
I try to have more peanut butter than jelly.
Sometimes I’ll just do peanut butter and honey in toast.
I used to do peanut butter, jam, and Nutella in the past.
I take my PBJ making very seriously. Do not dare to even think about coming at me with so much as a sliver of edge exposed; I will cut you.
Edit: I’ve since upgraded my PB from when I took these pics. I now prefer Adams PB (west coast) and Teddie’s extra crunchy (East coast).
@pmvines ok, but then the peanut butter gets all hard after you refrigerate it. Then you’re just asking for heartache as you tear up the bread when you try to spread it. That’s best for eating out of the jar. I said what I said. 😆
But @CentralFLCuddle the beauty of.Goober is that it requires no refrigerating (just don't read the ingredients lol)
@pmvines I don’t know. I will sometimes push food safety stuff, but playing fast and loose with bacteria by leaving that out of the fridge for more than a few days…😬 I do go through jars of PB and J very quickly, so I’d probably be ok. That said, I’m suuuuper picky about my brands and flavors.
Firstly, I tend to eat more almond butter these days because 1) peanut allergies in schools, and 2) pb tends to trigger heartburn for me - not sure why.
Then, it depends on if I'm making it for a packed lunch or to eat immediately. If making to eat later, I spread the nut butter on both sides to form a fat layer to keep the jelly/jam from making the bread soggy. If eating immediately I'm less concerned about it so usually just slap it together any which way.
Peanut butter and Nutella. Sometimes peanut butter and cream cheese. Never jelly.
Also, a tablespoon of peanut butter in ramen is basically a life hack.
I'm option four, BUT with JAM. Sometimes cream cheese instead of peanut butter. Rarely jelly; I find jelly to be a bit too messy.
@CharlesInWI add a few red pepper flakes and presto! Another life hack is tomato soup from ketchup packets (my mother's boyfriend was once homeless and taught me all the survival recipes when I was young )
Jelly can definitely get messy, but It can be so worth it! I'm not picky about Jam, jelly or preserves, or even the flavor of those...but do not EVER come at me with smooth peanut butter, that's just wrong on so many levels!
@CentralFLCuddle - That looks like blackberry, one of my favorites!
@Motorbaby it sure is! I like to think it’s the grown up version of grape.
@Lisa123 genius
PB&J also requires potato chips in the middle ... sweet, salty, and crunchy = YUM!
@TNNative THAT seems tremendous. Thank you!
My favorite lately is almond butter on one slice. Manukau honey on the other slice. Neither is spread thick. Cherry preserves is also really good instead of honey. Even better on toast.
Bread jelly and butter for me
Butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and chocolate chips. On whole wheat bread. Gotta be healthy.
Add banana slices.
Some days the fruit component (jam, jelly, preserves, whatever) goes on top of the pb, sometimes it goes on the other slice of bread. Some days it gets buttered in the outside and grilled like a grilled cheese, some days it goes on toast. They are all situationally dependent.
Wow. slowly backs away from you people and your peanut butter and jelly 😄

@MountainCuddles I am a butterphile as well. Butter on all sandwiches. For a PBJ I will use butter as a base between the jam and bread. Adds flavor and acts as an insulator to keep jam from wicking through the bread. Adding butter to PB and toast also enhances the flavor. I’ve never tried tallow on bread but it’s on the list for the next time I fry bacon or hamburger.
@Lisa123 I'll thank you now. What's the procedure for that?
@Bear yes, banana. & honey. Perfection.
I prefer bonne maman jellies. Also, Justin’s peanut butter because it includes honey.
