@JasonCuddles
I understand the question here, one can get certified as a professional cuddler in many online places. The courses range anywhere from $45-$170. I started looking for myself. Getting this certification will hopefully reduce how many people I get trying to solicit more out of me.
The payment helps people be somewhat more trusting.
If anything paying a pro to get karma In return will help build trust for those who are looking to be more of an enthusiast.
But without karma.... It's hard to get free cuddles.
@CharlesInWI Karma is at least a measuring stick for cuddlers to see how a person is taking the platonic aspect of cuddling seriously, its basically a review.
Perhaps the real question is : why do we call them pros? Maybe the word pro should be changed to something else : Cuddler for rent or cuddler for hire or even just PAID enthusiast. Then this whole sticking point of trying to apply these standards just goes away
@MrAdmirer
We call them professionals because they get paid for it. That’s it. That’s the list.
The concept of “professional standards” is simply advertising buzzword nonsense.
Each different “profession” has different metrics for defining successful outcomes, and some go so far as to have guild systems (journeyman, craftsman, artisan, master) or training and testing, etc…
But it ALWAYS really comes down to “Did it work?” and “Did you get paid?”
And if it works enough, and you get paid enough, for you to make a living at it: Tah dah! You’re a professional.
I would guess, based on how most other professions go, especially the most creative/social professions, that maybe 1 “pro cuddler” out of 1,000 is actually getting booked and paid often enough for this to be their means of support.
Which is how professions go.
Some of the comments are a bit concerning but at the same time they’re kind of an eye-opener at least for me if I’m going to cuddle with a pro, I don’t want it to be considered just a service or just business. I want the pro to actually enjoy cuddling. if I cuddle with a bad enthusiast And I don’t really enjoy the experience There isn’t really much of a loss there but if I cuddle with a bad pro and I’ve paid upfront, or I paid a deposit, I lose all that money there’s no money back guarantee for me.
@lonelytauros Most of the pros I have encountered do genuinely enjoy cuddling. But they have also discovered they can make money at it, and if you can make money doing something you enjoy, why wouldn't you?
Best way to avoid a bad experience is, as with any other business, look for someone who has been doing it for a while. If they weren't doing good (and probably repeat) business, odds are they would have moved on by now. It's like anything else, though, caveat emptor.
@lonelytauros I’ve cuddled with many pros that I’ve met on this site and the vast majority of them seemed to genuinely enjoy the experience. A lot of it is on you as the client though. Although these are paid professionals, they are also human beings in a very intimate setting. As a client, if you provide them with as amazing an experience as you can, they are likely to be happy, feel comfortable and safe and do the same for you. In regard to deposits, I’ve paid deposits very few times but when I have, I’ve made sure the pro appears to be reliable and real. I’ve never been scammed, it’s been the opposite, I’ve overall felt that the pros on the site have exceeded my expectations. There have been a couple of not so great experiences but in the end, the positive far outweighs the negative. My recommendation is see pros with karma, chat with them, video chat with them, don’t send deposits if something doesn’t feel right and be nice to them.
JFC. is this thread still going? LMFAO.
Karma is good. Not great, at creating an idea of whom a cuddler is to hire.
Karma is also good, not great, for clients that have booked to create a better sense of whom I'm cuddling with.
Just like a review for a restaurant or place you've never been to, do your research and decide if you want that experience. If not, move on.
If you don't want to pay, don't. If you don't want to book, don't. If you don't like a deposit - move on. If you don't like their lack of reviews - move on. If you don't like XYZ then FFS move on.
Just because it doesn't align with YOU doesn't make it innately wrong.
Just because you don't agree on an element in the cuddling world doesn't mean it needs to change either necessarily.
FOCUS on the key points you do need and want from a cuddler and pursue that. You'll get better odds of what aligns for YOU.
Beating the proverbial horse dead is kinda been done at this point. 😴😴
@MissAdventurous #4! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Fudge samples!!! Omg.... literally laughed out loud....thank you for that little nugget of fabulousness.....
What's wrong with @Rezz 's expression of "b****ing & moaning"?
It's genuine, raw, human emotion. It's appreciated.
Did someone's feelings get hurt? There's way too much hurt feelings, flagging, and subsequent censoring now, I think.
Replacing "b****ing & moaning" with [express displeasure] is like taking Las Vegas back when the mob ran the place, and trying to convert it into some kind of family-friendly equivalent of Disney world. It sucks. Is this a site for adults, or a children's daycare?
Can we stop with the hurt feelings, already?!
@TxTom everyone is allowed to have their own opinion. Some may feel people are being rude, some may feel people are being overly sensitive. There is no right or wrong answer. It is my opinion that there are some serial bully’s on this board as well as people being overly sensitive lol oh well 🤷🏻♂️ I choose to not engage bully’s. There are plenty of nice polite people in the world.
I think this thread has run its course. I'm tired of keeping up with it and dealing with the too many reports people are making on comments said here and 1 person has already been put in a timeout for their comments. So, this thread is being locked. Since it does still have some good discussion in it I'm leaving it to be viewed, but if someone tries starting this discussion in another thread they will quickly be given the chance to go touch grass for the next few weeks.
