Hi all,
I've had a few questions about virtual sessions? What is this? I don't want to sound silly but how does that work?
There is a sticky topic at the top of the Professional Cuddling board which links to absolutely everything you need to know.
The key point is to distinguish between virtual cuddling, which involves explicitly replicating the emotions of a cuddle by means of a videocall; and online companionship, which is a completely worthwhile but entirely different thing.
Threads about virtual cuddling are frequently derailed by people who aren't clever enough to distinguish between "I haven't done it" and "it doesn't exist". I hope this one will be different.
There was a train of thought which held that virtual cuddling would die out after the pandemic. This has proved not to be the case, and my impression is that virtual cuddling is more popular than ever and continues to grow. It is particularly appreciated by people who live in areas with few or no other cuddlers i.e. most places.

I did one yesterday and it was great. Basically you can just vent to us, talk about life, whatever you want to talk about really.

It is a bit of a land mine of a topic, but in short, you pay someone to do an online, on camera call with you.
They might simply listen, make comforting gestures and sounds, all the way to guided sensory instructions to create a feeling of being cuddled by them, using your own hands, arms, body, etc as a proxy.
For some people, that works.
For some, it does not.
As in all service industries, the service provider’s level of experience, engagement, and skill makes a difference, for good or for bad.
So, even if you feel this concept might work for you, buyer beware.
