Perhaps lower rents so college graduates and new people to the workforce can actually live somewhere besides their parents place. Then that way they can take the final step to independence.
Everyone would truly understand what inclusion meant, they would have to take courses in active listening and emotional intelligence and people would have to learn to stop being cruel to people that are different than them. There would be more and varied social opportunities so those that are marginalized could feel less alone. Hiring practices would change so people that really wanted to work would be able to. There would be less victim blaming and shaming and bullies and abusers would be held accountable. Working people to death would be outlawed, and we would prioritize self care over generating revenue. We would completely restructure all the broken systems and start putting our money into mental health resources and less on guns and war.
Just as a start.
It can’t, because everyone’s idea of utopia is different. Without being political, my utopia would be gun free, while others would have many more guns, for example. Mine would have no surprise mushrooms in food, others would delight and the fungal fun, etc.

I remember reading about this woman who broke down in the middle of a grocery store. Her mother had just died, and people made efforts to surround and support her, even though they didn’t know her.
That’s my idea of a utopia, really. That if you needed a friend, you could turn to just about anyone on the street and they would help you. No fearing for your safety, no having to worry about ulterior motives.
Every just truly cares about everyone else.
Resources would be pooled in such a way that no one is living on the streets, unless they want to.
Everyone has enough to eat and drink.

More cats! I went to Istanbul on holiday and I loved how many cats there were out on the streets and inside shops. Dogs, too. Locals feed these cats and dogs so they're not really even strays, just well looked after animals that live on the street. Nothing cozier than seeing a cat taking a little nap on some fabric in a clothing shop

I'm subscribed to a YouTube channel in Istanbul where this guy goes around building winter cat houses for cats and refilling their food supply. sometimes he adopts or fosters cats or dogs too. his wife was pregnant and her doctor said don't cuddle w animals while you're pregnant. guess what she did? lol

I think utopia is unachievable in this life, on this Earth.
To borrow from the movie Defending Your Life, our purpose here may just be to learn how to deal with fear.
I want a world that gets products to those who need or want them without using any disposable packaging, where plastic does not fill the bellies of pelagic birds and sea turtles, where there are no islands of garbage in the ocean, where life in the sea never has to endure the permanent drone of shipping engines, where available raw materials are allocated to manufacturing according first to the needs and then the wants of consumers without external influence, where people contribute to society in ways that fulfill them and make them happy, where the least-fulfilling work that society absolutely needs to be done is not saved for groups with low status and privilege, and where people are able to form the relationships they need easily because they live a life fully immersed in the moment in a face-to-face public with sufficient, accessible, comfortable gathering spaces that encourage speaking out, listening, empathic debate, and neighborly love.

And please note, I did not say a laissez-faire economy, which can become predatory.

How about a world without marketing? The purpose of marketing is to “generate demand” for products and services. This is most often accomplished by preying on people’s fears and insecurities to make people feel inadequate unless they buy a certain product or service.
This video is just one small example of how marketing people prey on insecurities to sell products.
Next, I would tackle “big food” and the perfectly legal but extremely unhealthy addictions they foster by tweaking highly processed food products to get people hooked on things that are slowly poisoning them and contributing to chronic disease (which in turn benefits big pharma who is great at creating drugs to treat symptoms of chronic disease).

@JohnR1972 I don't know that I would want to eliminate all marketing. Some of it is informative. As for the overly processed "Big Food Inc.," some kind of label, like they do for tobacco, would be adequate.
This is where the social-Darwinist part of me kicks in: people should have the liberty to harm themselves, so long as they don't harm others in the process. I think it is foolish to ride a motorcycle without a helmet, but there shouldn't be a law making wearing a helmet mandatory.
I actually agree with @TxTom on this. This is where if you really want to change things, start doing a better job of teaching critical thinking instead of waiting for higher education to do it. Marketing, eating the wrong things, and not exercising are all personal choices one makes and are not something that is mandated by some higher power. If people thought more critically they would not fall for marketing scams and they would think twice about eating a Snickers just because they are acting like a cranky diva.
@TxTom - I have strong “little L” libertarian leanings so I did not mean laws banning marketing. In a utopia, we would not have people making a living preying on other people’s insecurities so marketing just would not exist in its common form that we see so often today.
Same for big food. I am all for people making their own decisions but today I feel that most people have no idea how bad a lot of processed foods are for them and they are clueless how much engineering went into the design of things like Doritos. The texture, crunch, smell, taste, and even the finger residue was all designed and tested in a food lab to make them addictive to sell more product.
Whether it is people damaging their health with French fries, Coca-Cola, alcohol, tobacco, or riding a motorcycle without a helmet, I am fine with people making their own choices WITH informed consent. I am fine with legalizing a lot of currently controlled substances but again, with informed consent, people have to have reliable information about the risks they are taking but if they are adults, taking that risk is their choice.
However, I have no desire to pay for the consequences of someone else’s poor choices. Accepting the potential consequences of your actions is a part of informed consent.
@JohnR1972 I completely agree with the sentiments you expressed. However, people need to be permitted to "F" up. We cannot go on indefinitely protecting the gullible and stupid from themselves. Its not good for the long-term health of civilization.
Prehistoric humans gradually developed intelligence and wisdom because nobody stopped the village idiot from trying to pet a saber-toothed cat.
In a utopia, everyone will have access to a higher education so they can better make informed decisions on fewer marketed , unhealthy dietary options. how's that?
