So learned a few things this New Years. New York naturally has the Ball drop. Buy some other places have their variations of the ball drop. For example I learned that Sarasota, FL has the pineapple drop, Bradenton (A town not too far from Sarasota) has an orange drop. A friend also told me there is a Potato drop in Idaho. So what would each states' perspective drop be? I thought salmon or black berry for Oregon (where I am from), possibly cattle,trout,huckleberry, or a beautiful sapphire for Montana. Submit your thoughts. Curious to see your answers.

I'm from NYC. Seen it a lot but didn't realize that New Orleans also has one. I saw it in 2019. It was shaped like the Fleur De Lis!

I live in Ohio now. Ours should be shaped like corn 🌽 lol

The first thing that came to mind was a raccoon drop. That’s Tennessee’s state animal (wild animal).
I do see more possums than raccoons, so possum was the second thought.
(No animal cruelty, I love the possum that comes around my place and it loves the scraps I throw out.)

I was thinking Tennessee could be the tobacco plant drop, lol, since they grow so much of it. Not the wacky-backy kind, lol, the legal kind, tho some illegal gets found by the government occasionally also.

Or maybe the country ham drop. Oh that would be so funny. Perhaps the country ham drop should be in North Carolina.
I believe they have some kick*ss ham.

Ohio might have to debate Iowa for the ear of corn drop

yeah we like to drop stuff all over Ohio on NYE at midnight....Sausages, doughnuts, giant popcorn balls, walleyes, minnows, you name it...we drop it ! 😂😂😂

unfortunately we drop those deer daily on the byways and highways with our vehicles! 😲

Love the results of this thread. Thanks to those of you who have participated . I had a suggestion for Maine, a lobster drop. For New Mexico either thinking a Hatch Chile Drop or Hot air balloon lift off( for their famous hot air balloon event).
