  • @Sooson You're welcome!🥚😁

  • I understand the need for a picture, security and safety and all,,,,, but anyone every worry about someone ( you don't know well) having your picture in you phone?

Just a thought, i know they could probably snatch it off the profile but sending one seems different. I am not saying anyone is wrong to require and I'm not saying i would never share, I've done it. But that thought came in my head.

  • I respect that some may feel that a sending a photo provides a sence of safety. However, for those of us who are almost totally blind, or even totally blind, meaning we can't see anything. There just isn't the technology available for us to get a good photo. On the other side, if we were to receive a photo, the screen reader can give a very limited discription which might read like this, "a person posing for a photo." It would certainly not help us recognise a person upon meeting them. I've pondered this for a while, and while I don't want to wrob anyone of their security, I just don't know of a good solution. For us, a voice call would help us to know what each other sounds like, but I just don't know about the visual aspect. I even submit that those who can't see are in the minority. Meeting in a public place is something I'd be more than willing to do. I realize in reading this post, that a profile picture isn't always enough, even though I had hoped it would be. I am open to suggestions from the fine folks on here, particularly pros who want selfies. Is there anything else people like myself could offer you instead, that would help with security?

  • The refusal to send a picture and name via messages is a red flag on this site because people create multiple profiles to escape bans. It’s completely reasonable to ask them to provide (private, but visible to moderators) information in case something happens. The moderators can look at the message history etc. I explain this and people still try to pretend they don’t know how to do it on the messages. They ask for my number so they can send it to my phone instead. And they’re tech workers, allegedly. It’s just such a red flag. I don’t tolerate it.

  • @hifigeorge you raise a valid point, even if it's not typical reasoning.

  • I don't understand dudes who refuse to provide a photo of themselves, either on their profile or privately in a DM. Being associated with needing a hug just isn't that ruinous to one's life, I think.

For women cuddlers, I think an initial video chat or requesting a personalized photo from the man is the best way to determine an authentic likeness.

For the blind or visually impaired, the presence of a chaperone for the initial public meet & greet seems to be the safest route.
