@Sooson what's this innocent victim bit? Allllll the people trying to get pushy and gropy when I joined this site had nothing to do with my profile pictures. I was mindful as f*** setting up profile and had enough creeps (some with AWESOME karma) to make me lose my faith in humanity.
This site is a breeding ground for sexual assault. I feel AWFUL about how little education there is for new pros here. I feel awful. It makes me feel ill. I do not know that the healing it facilitates is worth it. I don't know. Heal the men and traumatize the young women. Great.

This site makes money for lots of people at the end of the day (holding that hypocrisy within me too..)
Maybe it's the involvement of money that's the problem.

@coregulate The universe has never been safe, but there are some things that are just out of our control so we rely on technology to make things better but the more that we rely on technology the more we have to feed it and that comes at a price.
I’ve heard of many stories from the client perspective of everything is fine until the pro gets there. Unfortunately, in these stories, the client is pressured and threatened
From a pro perspective, I have been able to tell pretty easily someone’s intentions while speaking after the booking is made, it’s always been from people with no Karma.
However, I do hate that these providers are on this site. It ruins it for everyone else. Let us have this, there are plenty of other sites to do this on and it’s making our concern for safety even more so.

@ATemporaryUser0 You're not even close to blaming or shaming. Warning new Pros about the risks and dangers and advising them to be prepared IS for their own protection. Too many erroneously believe this is easy money and don't recognize the risks. The honesty you suggest helps them to become empowered and less victimized. Thank you for recognizing women aren't delicate flowers who can't handle the truth, that maybe some aren't cut out for this site.
@Morpheus An hourly rate has absolutely nothing to do with whether a woman is strictly platonic or a sex worker.
@TxTom I eventually noticed that obvious, reportable profiles tend to crop up more often from those with higher pricing (like $120-$180). Of course this doesn't prove anything, rates can vary wildly due to location, and there are $60 Pro's with reportable behavior, as well...but from what I've seen, it does tend to lean a bit toward the more expensive ones.

@SunsetSnuggles An hourly rate has more to do with the state of the local economy. I've seen Pros who explicitly state their rate changes depending on the area they are traveling to.
As for sex workers, I think upselling generally happens in person.
The obvious stuff is going to be reported. There will always be some element in many industries. I remember not too long there was a barber in washington state that was offering non platonic services lol. Doesn't get any more platonic than cutting your hair and even they weren't spared.
A few years ago a local teacher was making great money off the dads of her own students. They think she was adding about $20,000 in untaxed income from it. I think the untaxed part was what the state was mainly upset about.
Money is crazy y'all. It's such a trip.
Humans used to barter locally for everything they needed. But they still labored for it. Currency (if it's based on something tangible, and not just fiat), is more advantageous, because it doesn't limit us to only local bartering, and it gives us much more options.
The moral issue with currency, just like technology, is not the currency itself, but how it's acquired and used.
