Does it actuallly pour when it rains?

I’ve had a few problems come up recently. Fridge died, decided to try a repair person, he said it wouldn’t be cost effective to fix it so I bought a new one. Wife car engine blew but luckily it’s being replaced at no cost to us. Mother in law is in the hospital, she’s gonna be okay but still though. So my question is this, when you have problems in your life, does it seem like they come in waves? Or does it only seem that way because when you have multiple issues at once, it just feels magnified? If you’re only having one problem, you just handle it and move on. Opinions?

  • I definitely think there can be cases where problems come in waves. I've known a few people that have had it be just one thing after the next in their life that is going on. I think there's a saying that trouble comes in 2s or 3s. I've experienced that, and even have a little bit of that going on of late. But a lot going on at once can absolutely make even the smallest of those problems magnified because stress is real and legitimate. Particularly when the solution to the problem isn't currently known, or is going to be an ongoing detriment in some way.

  • When it rains, it pours.
Good things and bad things both seem to come in 3s.

  • Things seem to pile up. I had one issue happen the other day, and I’m like,,”I’m not sure I can handle one more thing,” and then it turned out it was a simple fix that I could do, instead of a house insurance claim. 😅

  • "Smile, things could be worse."
So I smiled, and things got worse.

Let a smile be your umbrella, and you'll end up with a face full of rain.

Do what you can to keep yourself healthy, and deal with everything else the best you can.

  • @BuffaloBuddy sometimes it's nice to smile and just dance in the rain 🌧 💃
Gotta make the best out of the situation.

  • I always try to stay positive. Your mother-in-law is going to be fine. The engine will be replaced at no cost. It may be a lot at once but it's still better than what it could be.

In the last few years, I lost my dad and my brother, and then my dog of 10 years and almost got married to a physically abusive narcissist. Not all at once but the last 3 years.

Things could be worse, but I have good friends around me and love cousins and such. Plus it gave me a wake up. Call to get going on my own health issues that I was ignoring taking care of others. I don't regret taking care of others for my health. I'm just focusing on doing it now.

  • 2019 just before Covid
    1) August my husband died unexpectedly
    2) November I got peritonitis and was close to dying myself (no exaggeration)
    3) When I got out of the hospital I got a call that a good friends husband was killed while riding his bicycle - day before thanksgiving-

    2020
    4) covid happened (to literally everyone in the world
    5) I got a hernia really NBD just another thing (which meant another surgery) early days covid.
    6) got covid in November 2020 nbd
    7) best friend got a very rare form of cancer - called lyomyosarcoma and after 2 +years of fighting she made the decision to live her last month with dignity and saying good bye to ALL family and friends -

Having gone through so many tragic things over the past - 4 1/2 years I can say, life does get worse and then it gets better -

if you can work through the things it gives you more perspective- it makes you stronger and able to help others, just by being there for them- and being able to empathize -

and then you never know you may have more suffering ahead - so live life to the fullest - while you can because you don’t ever know…. What is ahead

-and so my answer is A resounding YES it does pour when it rains

  • It occasionally pours when it rains by chance, at least for the most part. When it's not by chance it's because of an underlying related factor.
