Hopefully that's a designated poop area, and you don't have to do silly things like put it in a plastic bag.
@lonelytauros he was mid pee @TxTom good thing pee doesn’t go in a bag😅 picking up after my pup comes with having a pup. I’m always prepared with bags. 4.99 for 6 rolls at Walmart 🤪

@MajesticMango Dogs have been pooping on the ground for a million years.
Only now, we've unnecessarily introduced additional plastic, labor, energy, and transportation costs into this process.
All dog poop eventually ends up back in the ground---either where the dog stands, or somewhere else.

My dog, a boxer, was not particularly interested in cuddling people. He preferred to be stretched out on the cool floor tile.
I was not particularly interested in cuddling my boxer. Despite constant brushing, he shed like crazy, leaving fur everywhere on everything he touched.

We pick up after pets because we live in condensed, overpopulated cities and towns, or confine our dogs to our backyards and dog parks. If we didn't pick up after them, those places would turn into a cattle pit within a few months.
The issue is the concentration. No one picks up after wolves, because their scat is dispersed across a wide range and naturally turns into fertilizer.
I know people who live on large acreage and let their dogs roam freely. You can bet they don't go hunting to pick up after them. Because it's also dispersed across the property.
Dispersed? No issue. Confined by humans? Issue. And our responsibility to mitigate.

But not in more sprawling, suburban neighborhoods like mine, where such policies are still strictly enforced. It's a moderately vegetated area. The deer population outnumbers the dog population 10-to-1, not to mention all the other wildlife here: squirrels, raccoons, skunks, possums, foxes, countless birds, etc.
Responsible dog owners should simply take care not to leave feces on sidewalks or other high foot traffic areas.
That's all.
I have a tiny dog and even he produces enough in one week to draw plenty of flies and make the area bake with the smell. It really doesn't take much. 😬
There are biodegradable bags, if the plastic bothers you enough to pay the premium. I have both kinds; I bring the biodegradable ones on hikes.
