Why Is Relationship Status A Thing?

  • I think why the site has that as a thing if a cuddler is single or not is probably mostly to do with the safety of people. I know people can lie and say they are single when they are really in a relationship but it is probably for safety if someone does not want to cuddle with someone who is in a relationship. I had two female coworkers one was single and the other one was engaged and the two of the female coworkers go close and the single coworker was getting close with the engaged coworker and her Fiancé and my engaged coworker got jealous that her single coworker friend was getting close and was suspecting things were going on and they ended up not talking to each other again. This was all after they both stopped working at the job. But my point is that a partner can get jealous if they are being close like with cuddling with someone and it might cause drama and their are people out their that don't want the drama

  • It's a riddle and I'm working on it

    I hope it works out

  • I love cuddling people that are married

  • Something you just have to accept when cuddling strangers is that your cuddle partner may be married. They are under no obligation to tell you their status and if asked they can simply lie. Their spouse may know, may not know it's a gamble. There are married people that have full on affairs where they lie about their status, in comparison platonic cuddling is tame in comparison.

  • While we're on this highly divisive subject of why relationship ship status is used.... I'd say the same thing about religious status as that gives more red flags to me.

That said... I'm comfortable cuddling people in any relationship status. To me it doesn't matter due to it being platonic cuddling. Whereas, I'd rather cuddle atheist or agnostic individuals over Christians because I find them more down to earth and less consumed with bigotry and fiery, "godly" judgement

  • Dang people on here are so hostile

  • I have finally reached the end of this thread and feel as though I should receive some form of professional development certificate for doing so.

Coming at this from the perspective of a professional cuddler, I actually think relationship status is far less important to me than honesty, intention and boundaries. But I also respect the different thoughts, feelings and experiences shared here. If relationship status matters to you, then absolutely make that clear, respectfully, without needing someone else to be wrong for feeling differently. The fit between two people matters enormously in this work, and knowing who isn't right for you is every bit as valuable as knowing who is.

If someone is married or in a relationship, I don't automatically consider that a problem. Adults have all sorts of relationship structures and agreements, and it isn't really for me to decide what another couple should or shouldn't be comfortable with.

What would matter to me is someone deliberately misrepresenting their situation to me, or quietly hoping that “professional platonic touch” might turn into something else. I recognise that there will be occasions when a partner doesn't know about a session. I'm not the relationship police, nor do I particularly fancy the job, but I would encourage people to be open and honest with their partners wherever possible, and I open those conversations right from the outset before a session even takes place. Ultimately, how someone manages their relationship is their responsibility. Mine is to make sure that what happens in my room remains exactly what I say it is: professional, platonic and boundaried.

Likewise, I don't think my own relationship status has any bearing on the professional service I provide. I'm not offering myself as a potential romantic partner. I'm offering a safe, boundaried space for human connection and platonic touch. Whether I'm single, married, dating, living in a convent or preparing myself for werewolf consumption shouldn't materially alter that.

For me, the useful information isn't really “single/married”. It's: Do you understand what this service is? Are you being honest with me? Do you respect the boundaries of the person you're meeting?

The rest belongs to the adults involved and their own relationships.

Although after four pages of energy pollution, hall passes, werewolves and spiritual sanitation, I am beginning to wonder whether my Code of Conduct is woefully inadequate.

I'll disinfect the cuddle snug and consult an exorcist before Monday.

  • @rootedhealing ^^^^^^^^^^ all that. 🤣🙌🏽💯
Thinking I might add “Spiritual Disinfectant” to my product line on my website 🤔
