    @TxTom
I was surprised, but there are Baskin-Robbins everywhere here in Seoul, I was shocked. It’s very popular here. I haven’t seen one in DFW area in ages. Lots of coffee, ice cream and dessert places here - a few on every street. Also, there are a few Dunkin’ Donuts, McDonald’s, Burger King, Starbucks, Shake Shack, Five Guys, Popeyes and a lot of other fast food chains. No drive-through though of course

  • [Deleted User]jimmylee (deleted user)

@KittyPukka dang! That would have been the high point of this thread.

  • I'm always fascinated with the changes that chain restaurants make for foreign countries

  • @Sooson There is absolutely nothing wrong with Vanilla... I happen to share that as a favorite.

    Also like sea salt caramel.

  • @g_w_t_w I'm sure the South Koreans prefer us, rather than the alternative. Baskin-Robbins' are much better than labor camps.

  • @TxTom Yes, ice cream for dinner! You ever try this:

  • Karmel Sutra Ben and Jerry's

  • @starrynitecuds

Nope, but I do like me some sweet crunchy Beaver Nuggets.

  • @Sooson love Texas Roadhouse rolls 😋 they’re my favorite.

  • @Ineedahugortwo
Who can resist Texas Roadhouse Rolls

  • I am a client here.

    @Ripley54566
I would agree should never pay full amount up front before meeting the pro. Occasionally, I may give a deposit like around say 10% to 30% or amount covering transportation, say like $25. I never pay more than what I’m willing to risk to lose. If a pro insists on full amount without meeting first, I would just politely ignore or politely cancel the request.

I will say this about the cuddling profession. At the end of the day, the cuddlers here are ….human beings….surprise surprise. My understanding, there is little to no licensing or credentialing required to be a pro cuddler here. No degree is required. No continuing education is required. No on the job training is required. They don’t have an office or some agency checking in on them.

My understanding they just have to click Yes to some Code of Ethics here.

(note: I know there are some sites that do more than this, but I’m talking about this site)

A lot of pro cuddlers are individuals who are trying to make ends meet or get some extra cash and heard about the profession.
Not to be impolite, but some cuddlers are probably looking at this and comparing to doing UberEats/Instacart or baby sitting or getting a job with Amazon.

So we should understand that that most of the pros here are not going to provide that ‘licensed’, sterile, distant service that you may be looking.
They are people with feelings and needs and who are trying to make it through the day and have cuddling is a profession they’d like to try out and make some cash. They may enjoy the experience of cuddling. They are people with feelings. You’re going to get multiple different experiences. It doesn’t mean that they are bad people. But I will say a good client should understand that their pro have some needs/insecurities/boundaries as they are human beings. Yes they are providing a service that is bound by some ethics they agreed to, but you have to understand that the low barrier to entry means you are essentially going to be meeting with …strangers you may meet at a concert or public park or library. different personality types. I don’t see the point in complaining that most of pros here are not meeting some highly coordinated, sterile, professional standard that you seem to want when it is not a requirement to join this field. If you want to meet with licensed professionals who will respect boundaries and may be able to handle your personality, you may need to hire pros from different organization/profession (say counselor, massage therapist or the cuddlist site that I saw recommended).

You have said you don’t plan to do repeat business. That is ok. That runs risk of you entering into conflicts because more people you cuddle with (from this site), the more likely you will encounter someone who may not understand your personality or your past or your delivery. I would say that the way you communicate can mitigate risks and conflict with different personality types. Simply saying this is how you are and admitting you’re not a decent person or that you don’t care will likely not fare well if you continue to meet with various different pros on this site. I would recommend a strategy of communication and conflict resolution to avoid having negative experiences. That will require some effort on your part but I think it will make your experience here more enjoyable. I have more thoughts, but I will post later.

Below bold/italics is quote from Ripley

QUOTE:I don't think this was pretty unreasonable right? A bit cold and unsensitive maybe, but In my mind also very much necessary given the situation from my end. This was starting to smell like a scam.

Oh boy was I wrong. What I was hoping would be handled professionally resulted in a pretty long text accusing me of being cold and heartless for even asking that to someone who was grieving, and finally revealing my true colors. The "pro" accused me of playing games. Pretending to care when I only cared about my own money, and leading them to believe that I wanted to spend time with them and I support them through their father's passing.

To which I responded, "No I never said I wanted to be there for you at all to support your fathers passing. Why would I pay you money for that?"

I did get an apology and the money back, but I this isn't the first time something like this has happened. Making me curious what the common denominator here is. If it keeps happening to me then I must be the problem here yeah?
    END QUOTE

    My response
I would agree you do not have to provide support for pro’s grieving. You are not required or obligated to be inconvenienced or denied a service or refund or do other tasks for the pro cuddler. I 100% agree.
I would agree that comment from the pro is not 100% professional and there may be some emotional manipulation going on there.
(BTW, i’m taking everything you say based on your perception of how the conversation went, I know there’s two sides to every story.)

But if I were in your position, I would not take this response from the cuddler as personal affront or violation. Again, they are people and sometimes people make mistakes. This cuddler ultimately did the right thing by apologizing and offering a refund. You also have a mechanism to report them if they continued to abuse their position.

I would give this person some leeway and mercy given she has lost a parent and that is a devastating impact on one’s life.

If you put things in proper context and understand the pro you’re dealing with is going though a personal challenge, I don’t see the need to get overly upset by the outcome or take anger out on the profession. Just my thoughts.

  • @Ineedahugortwo I'm ashamed to say the Texas Roadhouse rolls have been my phone's screen saver for a while (replacing Sister Skinny). =) =)

  • Ah to go from 6 pages of a cringe lord trying to argue how he's just misunderstood to yeast rolls and ice cream Love the forums .

@CrownSage I respect your humanity and ability to empathize. You are, however, giving the OP too much credit, since he does not appear to have an abundance of either quality.

On the more important topic - Haagen Dazs Pineapple Coconut.

People are on here for different reasons. If you're looking for an experience with no friendship, care, etc attached, you could put that in your profile, as well as that you usually don't do repeat sessions.

Clients have gotten mad at me that I won't hang out with them outside of sessions, I don't really feel like I need to lie and say "maybe someday" or some other nonsense to spare their feelings. I just say I don't do that and let them be mad if they want.

I put that in my profile too though so it hasn't happened in a long time.

You write that you're looking for companionship, can you tell me how that's different than friendship for you?

@WriterGF I generally ICK on coconut because it tastes like suntan lotion, but Haagen Dazs does quality. I might remember to look for it at the grocery store.
@pmvines I used to love the Karmel Sutra and Chocolate Fudge Brownie pint. Not offered now, so I make my own combo. 🥺
