Necrotopic: Why do you think people might randomly visit someone's profile? heeheehee I know...

[Deleted User]Homesteader (deleted user)

A thousand times before. I know. Answer anyway! lol

I've come to the conclusion that my glorious, marvelous, charismatic, groovy self only has appeal to those folks from, like, a thousand miles away!!! lol They'll come by, peek in, but not leave a message... Why?

OT: When you click on a profile pic, why do you do it? No, I'm not tech savvy enough to do the whole poll thing ( Obi-John-Kenobi, HELP!!! lol), so I'll just ask the question. Inquiring minds want to know!!! :)

Opening it up, what do you think are the top 3 reasons someone might randomly visit a profile without leaving a message?

Thanks in advance!

  • Why do you think people might randomly visit someone's profile?

As George Mallory might say, "because it's there."

  • Most of my visitors, the ones who have viewed me, I rarely visit in return. If they’ve just looked and not messaged, I’m not curious.
But I might open the profiles that are shown at the top of the homepage if there’s no clothing visible in their photo. Like, maybe someone needs to be reminded by the Mods that clothing is required here. 😁

    Thanks, Folks!! lol

@TxTom ~ Right?? lolol Okay, Smarty Pants!!! lol

@g_w_t_w ~ As someone who has an Iron-Clad Policy of the wearing of at least a t-shirt by my Cuddlers, I understand!!! lol

@Bear ~ I think I was hoping that the curious "looky-lou" people were peeking because they'd enjoyed something I'd posted.. Thanks for chiming in! :)

I think I'll go "peek" at a few of the members shown at the top of my dashboard, out of curiosity, of course! Just to see what happens! :)

Anyone else care to share your insight into this fascinating topic? :)

When we go to an enthusiast’s profile shouldn’t it be an enthusiastfile?

  • [Deleted User]Homesteader (deleted user)

Hahahaha!! @TheFunCartel ~ You want me. Admit it!!! lol

Um... No. The correct term for it is "Enthusi 0 phile," and I'm now wondering if you is one!! lol

    Visit my profile! lolol

  • Why do you click on a profile.

Because you are obviously attracted to it-either aesthetically, intellectually. emotionally or any other attraction that draws your attention.

    @TxTom
I have to disagree- Many profiles are "there" and I don't click on them.

We pursue what we find attractive-intriguing-exciting-interesting.

  • I'm fairly new to this site, and read many of these questions, but first time answering a question. I've cuddle a few times with one professional, and she asked me this same question the other day. My answer to her was, that other than making me feel completely at easy with her, I like her pictures and seeing her also helps to give me that calm I recieved at our sessions. I thought taking a screen shot was just creepy, so I visit her profile from time to time.
If someone replys to a question, and gives good advice, I may check out their profile too. I try to check out profiles of ppl closer to home, or to a city/state I maybe visiting. I usually send a friendly message tho, as to why I'm checking them out.

  • I browse this site relatively frequently these days, in many cases instead of sleeping. I’ve been traveling quite a bit so I’ll click profiles when I’m trying to find a cuddle partner, but I don’t think that’s what you’re asking? So when I’m not necessarily looking to message, In decreasing order of frequency, I click on profiles that have interesting forum posts, randomly appear on the main page, or clicked me first.

I’ve clicked you because you’re enthusiastic and entertaining.

  • My old android phone has a mind of it's own ( goes from frozen to super senitive) majority of my clicks/ views are actually accidential ones.

Some are whilst trying to read a post on the threads. The curious profile views I do make tend to be followed with a message.

Does any one else get a feeling of stepping on someone's porch when they accidentially click a profile? I sometimes slightly panick especially they view mine in return.

    1. I look at the profiles of people who message me.
    2. I look at some of the profiles of people who have looked at my page.
    3. I look at some profiles of people in my area.
    4. I look at some of the profiles of people online or latest.
    5. Sometimes people post here so I look at their profile.
    6. Person A wants to cuddle with me. I look at Person A's Karma.
    7. Continuing with #6, Person A was left Karma by People B, C & D. I look at the profiles of B, C and D AND the profiles of people who left THEM Karma to see if they seem reputable, to help determine if Person A might be safe.

@BrianOcean ~ Love the screen name! :) Also love what you've shared!! "We pursue what we find attractive-intriguing-exciting-interesting." Thanks!

@broncoguy45 ~ Honored to have inspired your first forum answer!! Wooohoooooo!!! :) Thank you for being mindful and not being "creepy"! lol Your insightful answer is appreciated, and I'd imagine the people whose profiles you happen to visit probably appreciate a brief note as to why you're checking them out!! I think it would be really cool if we were to normalize that!

@lovingspoonfull ~ Good call... But your answers filled the bill! :) And, just so you know, your last comment gave me happy, fuzzy giggles!!! Thank you! :) (Y'all can't blame a gal for enjoying a compliment from a fellow Cuddler! C'mon!!! :) )

@4cuddles ~ Aw, Babe! I used to have it on my profile, "Hello! Come on in! Would you like some tea?" as an intro... It's okay..
A lot of us, here, enjoy curious potential Cuddlers stopping by! :)
And it's REALLY cool if you follow up your curious profile views with a message! Go, Courageous You!!! :)

  • I will have to admit something - if you have an actual photo and a smile and nice eyes maybe I’ll click on your profile. Otherwise, I have no reason to.

  • [Deleted User]Homesteader (deleted user)

@g_w_t_w ~ Hahahaha!! Watch out!!! lol As someone who, every day, looks into a pair of gun-metal-gray eyes, and gazes upon a smile that would launch a thousand (of my own!! lol) ships, I can understand why you might click on a photo like that!!! lolol My fella's HOT, but stingy with the Touch... dammit!! lolol

I guess I just wanted to pick the brains of the folks here. I, personally, typically click over into the profiles who have posted something that struck me as insightful, wise, or hilariously funny. LOVE the meme thread, so I like to affix a face to the name of someone whose humor cracks me up! lol

Just wondering, I suppose... Thanks, folks, for chiming in :)

  • For me, probably 75% of my profile clicks are from forum posts. Some of those are new names I hadn't seen before. Some are old names I forget who they are and then i click and go "oh yeah ... that person". If I noticed a picture change, I tend to also visit because the forum pics are just so small. Sometimes I'll visit to see if I get a response.

Then there maybe 10% are from browsing, usually it is trying to find out what the city mentioned is located. Another 10% is either browsing or forums where my phone had decided for me that I didn't mean to scroll down or across but it knew I meant to click ... and so it decides for me. The last 5% are someone who has visited me first.

Now ... of all the messaging I have done, I only initiated maybe 4 or 5 of them. The anxiety (?) I have is akin to calling someone (anyone really). I don't like to feel like i am bothering which messaging feels like bothering (whether it is actually true or not). So if I am going to message, I need something that is greater than that hesitation. So one profile I ran into specifically said it was okay to just say hi ... so I did. I think most others there was a follow-up on something said in the forum (which I used as a hook for myself).

I will say that most of the time I visit, I want to message .... but most of the time I am stopped by myself.

  • I most often have been looking a city lately. Wondering what state "Palmsidedown" is located. Or "

Then probably something attracted my in the picture.

Followed closely by the screen name curiosity, why is this lady named Cauliflower eat eater???

    Then comments in the forums.

    @pmvines
Actually 99% of the time I’ve clicked on a profile is for that same reason, accidental.

I’m curious though, if there’s no photo of a person in the thumbnail we see, what’s the motivation? I guess the age or location?
If they’ve used an interesting picture instead of a photograph, I might click on that. I only access CC on my phone so the images are so small, I’ll enlarge it if it looks interesting, Then, if the image is somewhat artistic, I might click.
And so many of the ones with the generic icon have nothing filled out so again there’s nothing to inspire me to look.

  • Curiosity number one. Particularly if they've posted in the forum.

Attraction number two. Not gonna lie but if you're cute I can't resist at least looking.

Locality number 3. You're near me or somewhere I travel for work. Curiosity kicks in.

Thanks to you all for sharing!!!
I'm surprised (and grateful) that you've share so many different reasons for clicking through on profiles! Some of these, honestly, NEVER crossed my mind... I'm grateful, again, for the insights provided! :)

Its quiet, and my skin is hungry, so I think I'll go HARASS some of the people whose profiles show up in my "visitors" tab!!! Hi, @pmvines! :)

  • @Homesteader ✨🤗Great question! I’m definitely one of those people who likes to explore the site and see what’s happening out there. Sometimes, I’ll follow a ‘karma trail’ where one person’s karma leads me to other profiles. If their karma is interesting, I’ll check out more of their interactions, and it sort of turns into a never-ending rabbit hole of intriguing profiles and stories. And if I see shared cuddles, I’ll go down that rabbit hole too, like, ‘Oh, how cool! This person shared a cuddle with XYZ!’ I also browse when I’m bored it’s such an interesting place, in my opinion!

I always wonder if it’s being intrusive lol

  • Half the time it's because I find someone actually near me and I don't proceed anyway as there's absolutely nothing on their profiles.
The other half is because I'm careless using my phone haha.

  • Why are we making it weird to look at someone’s profile? If anything the weird part is that this website shows you anyone who’s viewed your account. This website is to engage and connect with fellow humans, so of course I’m going to click on someone’s profile for a multitude of reasons. I’m amazed at the people who seem slighted that someone has “looked, but not messaged”. I can look at someone on the street, or say hi to someone in an elevator - it doesn’t mean I want to marry them. We are humans - it’s what we do! Let’s all check each other out, and find out if we want to explore more!

    @NikkiFM Agreed.

  • [Deleted User]redhots (deleted user)

    @NikkiFM This…

  • [Deleted User]goldmanj784 (deleted user)

I sometimes look at karma for someone I will cuddle with, and then look at the person’s profilewho left the karma. Otherwise, I end up back on a profile from the history and predictive text on my phone.

  • Profile pic looks interesting. Sometimes I'll click on it again, days, weeks, months later because I forgot and then the text on the profile reminds me 'oh yeah i already clicked on this lol'.

  • I mostly on look at someone who has looked at mine or they look interesting

  • [Deleted User]Homesteader (deleted user)

@NikkiFM - WHOA WHOA WHOA... WHAT IN THE HOT HASTY HELL JUST HAPPENED???

NO ONE, AT ANY POINT, WAS TRYING TO MAKE THIS "WEIRD." IT WAS A FUN QUESTION. THAT'S IT. Get over yourself, posting all loud and WRONG. NOT NEEDED. Why come into a thread being combative and alarmist??? WHAT IS THE POINT? You WANT nice, THEN YOU >>BE<< NICE. You don't care for the thread, you can easily click right back out and go find something that doesn't chap your ass so badly!!

Obviously, from the number of very interesting, often detailed responses, this was a MOSTLY well-received question!

    NOW...BACK TO THE FUN.

When I first joined, I felt like it was "intrusive," too, @shecuddless , but I was delighted to find that the majority of the people I messaged ALWAYS messaged back, thanking me for the note! lol So, I quickly got over the feeling that I was intruding! lol

I'm nosy, and the karma trail idea is interesting, @goldmanj784 ! Thanks for the suggestion!! I might just have to try that! lol
