Any vegans in here?
Where my vegan people at?
No
Well i couldn't maintain since i wasn't good in the kitchen so i just stay meat free
Vegetarian (noun), Indian word for lousy hunter.
I've been vegan since 1988.
And yet, there's a lot of very good vegetarian dishes in Indian cooking.
True.
Yes, I'm an omnivore but I often eat and make vegetarian and vegan when I am doing Indian food, though goat cheese is hard for me to pass up when I have it on hand so less often with the latter.
If i was good at preparing variety of food id be vegan. I don't see much value in eating the rest other than availability
Being vegan and having a backyard garden (and time/energy to cook) sounds like a great combo.
Exactly
Raw vegan here.
Vegetarian since the '80s. Raised two vegetarian offspring, one is vegan now. My daughter (age28) made a vegan Thanksgiving
I’m not really sure what the point of this post is, but the answer is yes. I’m a total vegan and have been my entire life.
Although, if I’m being totally honest with the group, I do cheat here and there with some form of chicken, beef, turkey, pork, bison, fish, or dairy. And when I say here and there, I mean daily.
So...four of us? 😆 Not surprising.
I've been vegan for seven and a half years. People ask me if I cheat on my birthday, or Christmas... Dietary vegans who are in it for weight loss or health certainly do that. Allergy-motivated vegans sometimes even cheat, because the side effects are worth it to them. I can't speak for environmental vegans. But ethical vegans have no reason to cheat...it's like asking a regular person if they cheat and have a cannibal meal on their birthday. 🤨 Not only is it not a temptation, it would literally make me feel emotionally horrible...not how I'd want to spend my special occasions.
Anyway, I love being vegan; it was a massive life change for me, since I grew up eating meat every day, and all my favorite meals had meat. But I feel so much better about myself, and I got the unexpected bonus of losing a lot of weight when I first went vegan.
I'm healthy (though yes, definitely still overweight), and every single one of my labs are within range. I take a couple vitamins to ensure I don't dip low on anything important, and I'm delighted that those even come in gummy form, so I feel like I get a couple fruit snacks, each morning. 🤩
Being vegan has brought me a lot of joy, self-respect, health benefits, and purpose.
I thought vegans were 🦇💩 crazy until I became one overnight... And a lot of them are. 🤭 It can seem an insurmountable lifestyle to take on. If anyone is interested, I would not suggest going cold turkey overnight. 😆 Starting off with Meatless Mondays is a very simple way of dipping a toe in the compassionate waters of veganism.

I love meat
@tiffanybaby
I'd find it hard to get enough protein for the day. I try to do 120g - 160g.
Plus, I love eggs so much.
Lol
Im vegetarian, though not vegan.
I'm vegan there's a few of us haha
Not me. I love my meat.
Im a freegan 🤷🏼♀️
I’ve been vegetarian for 11 1/2 years. I always planned on going vegan but found it too difficult. All of my partners have been omnivores over the years so it’s already difficult just being vegetarian especially when going to peoples homes and going out to eat I also hate mushrooms and eggplant which limit my options, but I try to take the vegan option when it’s easy, For example, I prefer nut milks over cows milk.
I’m also vegan. I’m new to it… 4 months in today. I love to cook so at home it isn’t a difficult change… just learning new recipes and methods. The challenge for me is that I travel a lot for work and often need to host others for meals out. I take a lot of food with me or buy it if I’m flying. However , I find I have to do a lot more research and planning for choosing restaurants and if I don’t have the chance to choose, it can be challenging to find something that works well.
I've never considered myself anything other than an omnivore, though I (in the past) spent many years living with someone who ate plant-based, so I got used to cooking meals that were tasty, gave adequate protein for my athletic pursuits, and variety using only plants because it was easy to just eat plant-based myself with shared meals.
I did just fine in the gym eating plants, though I usually supplemented wirh spirulina, which made hitting my 130-150 grams per day quite easy along with the legumes I ate a lot of, and still do.
Another thing about eating plant-based, it can be cheap of you buy unprocessed foods in bulk--I buy oats and beans in 50 lb. sacks and store them in air-tight, food-grade containers. If you go for things like ersatz eggs made out of mung beans or high end meat substitites, plant-based eating can be very expensive.
Yeah plants are super cheap relative to animal products. Animal products would be even more expensive if they weren't subsidised too. That's something that bothers me. Being forced to help people buy milk when it's expensive and unnecessary.
I am a vegan and have been a vegan for over 11 years and almost 12 years! I have been a vegetarian for about 1.5 years right before turning vegan.

I can't speak for environmental vegans.
I can't either, but I used to have a co-worker that was one and we had a lot of discussions about it. I wouldn't call the non-vegan part of his diet "cheating", but he would often take home non-vegan leftovers from group meals out if no one else wanted them. His philosophy was that food waste was worse than eating non-vegan leftovers that would otherwise be thrown out.
