@TheFunCartel No one is saying someone has to be interested. However it's weird that people keep referring to something that's not a kiss as a kiss in this thread. (Just because it has a cute name)
"Do you want to touch noses?" "No" "Cool"
But this would be a weird conversation: "Do you want to touch noses?" "I don't want you to kiss me." "Not what I asked, but ok"
Edited to add: Clear communication is important here and when people (seemingly intentionally) mix up definitions of things, how can they possibly engage in enthusiastic consent?
@CuddleHrV "considering a kiss on the cheek is a common greeting in some cultures, and maybe, in Hollywood, I don't see it as particularly romantic."
I come from a southern european culture where cheek kissing is as common as breathing... I made the mistake of attempting to give a cheek kiss to someone here who was from a culture where it is not common to try to console her a bit.. (This was as we were leaving, after our session where she had spent a large amount of time pouring her heart out about personal issues and had been incredibly upset)
She was very upset and it took a great deal of apologizing and explaining for her to forgive me. I would never do that again with a cuddle partner.
I am not a rocket scientist but am smart enough to know anyone advocating for Eskimo kisses on a site with clear rules against such behavior may need to seeks to seek help .....they clearly don't understand the word no
@dennis22554 Where are the clear rules against it?
(And let me stress that I'm not advocating for it)
The rules state "no kissing". It's clear that the rules are referring to the act of placing your lips on someone else (either on their lips or elsewhere). That's what the vast majority of English speakers would define as kissing. Definitions are important, communication cannot happen without them.
Given that "Eskimo kisses" are something completely different and doesn't involve anyone's lips or anything that a normal English speaker would define as kissing, how is it clearly against the rules?
Face to face touching is INTIMATE.
Rubbing noses is NOT a sign of appreciation. It literally means "I love you". So unless you would say "I love you" to that person, refrain.
Definitions are important
Definitions are not black and white though, nor are they the end all, be all. Definitions lack context, perception and emotions, all of which enter the equation when cuddling.
@TheFunCartel Agreed in the context of someone you are cuddling with. While you are cuddling, dictionary definitions don't matter. All that matters is what you communicate and agree to with the other person.
However, when if comes to things like CC rules, the client service agreement and the terms of service, those definitions do matter. Someone can't tell others that it's "clearly against the rules" when there's absolutely no evidence that it is.
For people here that don't want to have any contact between faces, cool, don't do that. But it's not my place, or anyone else's (except the site owners), to tell others that face touching is against the rules.
Also, in the AI overview of a Google search for "Eskimo kiss", it says, among other things: "It's usually a greeting, rather than a romantic gesture. "
But it's not my place, or anyone else's (except the site owners), to tell others that face touching is against the rules.
Right, yet when someone said they wouldn’t do it because it makes them uncomfortable you said but it isn’t kissing. When you question a boundary someone stated it isn’t an intellectual argument, a point to be made, or an exercise in logic. It is a red flag to most people.
The behavior seems intended to escalate the heat and could only lead to troble...there is a lot of things that I would like to that I could argue are not necessarily sexual but why take the chance...women have enough to worry about
@TheFunCartel Correct. I probably should have expanded on my response there. I wasn't implying that @g_w_t_w should consider doing it because it's not kissing. I was simply trying to make sure we are all talking about the same thing. When people in this thread keep referring to "nose touching" as "kissing" it makes it difficult to have a rational conversation about it.
@g_w_t_w I’m not certain you realize there is no mouth involved in an Eskimo or butterfly kiss. Lips are not involved. I was a nanny for 20 years this is something commonly done playfully with children instead of a mouth kiss. It is most definitely platonic. It’s just running the tips of your noses together. Now consent should be asked and breath mints probably shared. But if both parties are comfortable with it I don’t see any harm In it
@sage91436 you are exactly right! I read comments above referring to something i thought involved face and lips so that’s what I reacted to without checking the definition. You all can have your own preferences. What you personally do during a session has no effect on me. Anyway I hadn’t googled the term, just going by my own thoughts of anything involving the word “kissing “ from experience here on CC. It still seems intimate and romantic and just weird on a cuddle site. People here will try very hard to make their encounters romantic or more. That’s what I’m addressing.
Exactly...lt stretches the limits of what the cuddling site is intended for....I see at as playful behavior that is fine for a more intimate relationship...CC is service based ....if Eskimo kissing is fine...what else is fine...its asking for trouble
I once asked a woman for an eskimo kiss but she wasn't inuit.
@dennis22554
what else is fine
I would argue the following is fine:
Anything that is:
(Of course, in practice, only the first of those really matter, because if both people enthusiastically consent to breaking the rules, who's going to report it? But I wouldn't advocate for people breaking the rules, especially when it can warp expectations for different cuddlers.)
Absolutely agree
@dennis22554 💯 People here constantly try to justify behavior that isn’t comfortable on a platonic cuddle site. I still believe that was the intention for this particular thread. You all can twist things around however you want but that’s what I think.
I just don't want somebody leaving a boogie trail on me.
@g_w_t_w You are absolutely correct. I think the intention may have been to see how the boundary of 'platonic' can be pushed.
@g_w_t_w also agree --as addition it was intended to normalize the behavior!
I give all my buddies at work Eskimo kisses
“CC is service based” - Not for enthusiasts it isn’t. Lord save me if anyone wants me to service them. 🤮
“Touching noses means I love you” - What the actual f? Not to me it doesn’t. It means, I’m having a great time being close to you. Thank you for sharing space and time with me. I like sharing a cute and playful touch with you.
How about everyone does what they’re comfortable with, and what they have consent from their partner to do? As long as it doesn’t explicitly violate the TOS (kissing means with lips, people) , let grownups be grownups and spend their cuddle time in the way they and their partners agree to.
I’m amazed at what a big deal some people made about people touching noses. Seriously, we’re talking about touching noses lmao
@SweetlyBlissful: "How about everyone does what they’re comfortable with, and what they have consent from their partner to do?"
I agree. Things like touching noses, foreheads, etc. mean different things to different people. Consent and being kind/respecting boundaries is the way to have a pleasant experience and maybe make friends. 🙂
If everyone simply does what they are and their cuddle partner are comfortable with, then there would be no need for topics like this, which amount to asking for validation of something you already want to do.
I agree with Kuddlykoala 😊🩵
.
@billiam Is this one of those times you wrote something, took a bit to reflect, and decided it was best to not post? Just asking because you were saying you were working on that. Good for you if you did that. Anger, frustration and the general chaos that is out in the world today can drive anyone to say something you might regret. It takes disciplined introspective person to walk away from making that mistake. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I will now demand a nose touch upon entry to my lair. So cuddles beware of the dwelling tax, tip to tip, right to left before embraces over here. It's not romantic at all, i don't even like it but we've got to get Inuit before we go further. No i don't love you, well the way Jesus did, but not in the way you may want.
Nose, forehead, shoulder, shoulder, embrace, that's the required order.
Snot smears for all
