Valentines Day plans?

  • @Auroradream: I agree, the handmade ones are the keepers! ๐Ÿฅฐ

  • My boyfriend doesn't want any gifts, as he's quite the minimalist, so I'm making him his favorite meal and giving him a handwritten, heartfelt card, that ties into a personal joke of ours - I ordered it special, off of RedBubble. ๐Ÿ›๐Ÿ’Œ He's already talking about the dinner, which is really sweet. He wants to spend the day snuggling and relaxing at home, so that's what we're gonna do. I would have been down to do a weekend getaway, but I've been traveling so much lately, I'm happy to just spend quality time here with him and the pup, too. Not to mention, it's been 0 degrees lately, and the mountain passes are dan-ger-ousss! So it's a weekend of walks in the snow, hot chocolate, popcorn and movies for us! โ˜ƒ๏ธ

Your post cracked me up. I've always thought that flowers and chocolate are wayyy too cliche; I happen to know my boyfriend is getting me a model horse I've been wanting, that commemorates the wild horses on the island where we first met. ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ

One of my favorite Valentine's Days was just meandering Fremont Street with my boyfriend during the day; it was so nice and quiet! ๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿป We went and sat by the pond with the ducks, later, after watching the Bellagio fountains. ๐Ÿฆ† It was a lovely, peaceful, no-cost day, filled with quality time.

Previously in life, I've had boyfriends who weren't into celebrating Valentine's Day, and it did hurt my feelings a little...not because I wanted money spent on me, but because I just felt a lack of love on that day if nothing happened. It could have been sitting in the backyard holding hands, hiding notes on printer paper, anything at all...but to have your loved one actively say they don't want to do anything, felt quite hurtful. But I do understand that everyone's Love Languages are different, and I tried to remind myself of that, while in those relationships. I do feel more appreciated, now that I'm in one where the day is acknowledged. It doesn't matter how...simply that it is.

I love the group celebration concept! Like the whole Friendsgiving thing. ๐Ÿ˜Š

That is super sweet. The past few years, I've been decorating the house for birthdays and leaving things up for two or three weeks...why shouldn't birthdays be celebrated as long as holidays? My boyfriend's birthday was at the very end of January, and the table is still decorated, banner up, balloons are still floating like a boss. I thought maybe he would think it was silly, but he actually told me a few days ago that he really appreciates all the little things I put up and that it's stuff he would never ask for but that it makes him feel very loved that I thought of each thing and went out and got it and took time to put it up, etc. That makes it worth it. ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Dude, I would be absolutely DOWN to go to a hockey game for Valentine's Day! ๐Ÿ’ I went to my first Eagles game with my boyfriend recently, and had an absolute blast. I got a busted hockey stick, and the guy who gave it to me was apparently so touched when I went back at the end of the game to get his attention and thank him again, that he called me back down and gave me a game puck! Lucky the people around caught my attention because I didn't hear him calling me! It was a lovely experience. The music, the smoke, the pounding, the fighting, the goalllllls. ๐Ÿฅ… Count me in. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

I don't have a romantic partner at this time.

But if I did, all I'd want to do is spend the day snuggling, whether that be at home or in nature. And I would only ever be with a partner that wanted the same.

Or, maybe not the entire day snuggling. Maybe half the day hiking together, and the second half snuggling.

I would never be with a partner that expected material gifts of any form for Valentine's Day. If just sharing time and snuggles with me is not enough, then I don't want the relationship, because then I would feel like I'm not enough.

So I appreciate your attitude toward Valentine's Day, and I wish more people felt that way.

With that being said, this year I'm celebrating Valentine's Day by attending a cuddle party.

  • @SunsetSnuggles
    You sure about that ?

  • I was hoping for a day of cuddling, but have no one scheduled so I will be planting seeds via winter sowing in anticipation of garden season
