Going out on Valentines night is especially briliant if you like watching couples sitting in hostile silence. Woman dressed as fine as fine can be, man looking like he was unexpectedly called off a building site.

@CuddleDuncan lol 😆 For real though, it’s sad! I’m happy single so I don’t have to be part of that anymore…. I used to be that exact couple! I escaped thankfully after 10 years though. 😬
@Jillybear87 when I was with my ex we avoided Valentines like a rabid hippo. For a couple, Valentines has zero upside and oodles of downside. We did, however, have occasional, proper, fantastic date nights on random evenings - much better.
I discovered the joys mentioned in my earlier post on a spontaneous first date many years ago ..... neither of us had noticed what night was until the penny finally dropped. We were the only people in that restaurant having a happy time.

My plans (for Valentine's Day) will be to go to work like any other day of the week, and then go home relax that evening and enjoy my weekend days off afterwards! 😁

I'm going with my best friend to her follow up doctor appointment. She just had two surgeries on Wednesday to remove cancer and another big tumor we are hoping isn't cancer. A good way to show someone you love them 😀
The rest of the day will depend on the news we get, I guess.
I don’t have any plans for Valentine’s Day. I don’t have a valentine near me. I’ve also never really went out for Valentine’s Day that I can remember. When I was dating my ex-wife she was bored with the holiday so did not want to do anything

There's a couple I'm close friends with and I go over every so often and cook dinner for their family (kitchen takeover!). They invited me over for Valentine's they treat it as a wider celebration of love and happiness versus a couple's thing. They're amazing people. Now to figure out what to bring to cook..

My boyfriend's taking me to a steak dinner 2 weeks AFTER the fact because I have a social anxiety and I hate crowds. I also HATE Valentine's Day!! If you're only showing that level of thought one day a year, why are you even in a "relationship" and if you're with someone who measures your "love" in dollar signs, that's not love AT ALL!! Chocolate just ends up on my waistline and flowers die in a few days. Just hold me while I lay in silence while listening to your heart beat- but yeah, after being raised VEGAN and not having my first steak until I was 24- a GOOD meal first definitely doesn't "hurt"...
Hopefully, the Philadelphia Eagles 🦅 parade will be on the NFL Network Live 👏 I may watch that. I may not study as much as I should on Friday
@great_pillow08 Your post reminded me of how, back when I was married, we would do "birthday month." Her birthday was in September, so every day of the month I would hide a little surprise for her in the house. Not necessarily a gift, might be just a note or a card or something small, just to let her know I was thinking of her.

Congratulations @AlexysDanyelle ! I am very much a giver so for me it can be difficult to spoil myself. It's like everything i buy for myself is costs (mentally) triple the price and I decide its too much. I'd luv to take myself to Paris again🗼 one day
