In all honesty I am completely mystified at their appeal.
They seem like very buggy status symbols to me. But hey, not everybody likes my truck either.
One of the worst things to ever happen to online food reviews is two words : cheese pull! If I went my entire life without having to see people try to purposely make a big string of cheese drag from their mouths to whatever it is they are eating that happens to contain cheese I would be a happy boy.
I’m convinced that regional delicacies come from famine.
No one took a look at snails and said… “hmm. Bet that would taste good with garlic and butter”.
Cases in point: moldy cheeses, sea urchins, beet soup, etc.

I looked up the histories of several that just seem bizarre to me and it’s either unknown, or has a “story” tied to it.
Bacon is ok. But just that -ok. If I'm having a breakfast sandwich or side item and I have the choice I'll choose sausage most every time

Patty for sure ! Links are alright but I prefer the spicy and somewhat burnt taste of a patty especially for sandwiches

Sure, genres keep evolving — lofi, chillwave, trip-hop, etc. — but they’re more like new branches than new trees. Rhythmically, harmonically, and structurally, most of them still grow from roots that were in place by the mid-’70s. What’s changed isn’t the genre foundations, but the textures, production techniques, and cultural contexts.
I’d never say “nothing new has happened.” But I would say that most of what we call “new genres” are variations or recombinations of earlier building blocks. And that’s not a bad thing. It just means the language of pop/rock solidified early, and the poetry keeps evolving.

I lived in Florida for 2 years. They have nutrias that contaminate the water and no not stuff that's good for you. Rodents. You have to drink bottled water there.
