All I can say is "Wow!!!"

So I just had someone block me cuz he thought I was making fun of his beliefs or way of celebrating the holidays. Although that clearly was not the case. He sent a message that I interpreted as him giving me info about how ai celebrates the holidays. So my response was "That's cool lol." But apparently it was a typo on his part and he was referring to himself. So he sent me this very ugly message accusing me of making fun of him and his beliefs. And that I need to learn how to better communicate, as well as needing to educate myself. Just making me look like a horrible human being and that I'm not as "exclusive as I think I am" whatever that's supposed to mean. I was completely blown away by this! Never have I ever judged, let alone made fun of someone for who they are or what their beliefs are. Sorry that I'm a giggly, happy person. Normally I wouldnt make a big deal about this or even bring it up but it really bothers me that he didn't even give me the opportunity to explain and just knowing that someone thinks of me in that way doesn't sit well with me. For those of you that know me or have cuddled with me know me better than that. I Just don't know how I can make it right and apologize since I'm now blocked. Any suggestions?

@friendlyj311 That is entirely on him, not you. If I were offended I would ask what you meant, but obviously he has anger issues if he was that easily triggered. You probably avoided an issue.

  • I don't see why you would have to apologize, he made the mistake.
The guy definitely has anger issues as @TheFunCartel says.
Not worth to feel bad over.

Water off a duck's back. If he blocked you, then there's nothing for you to apologize for.

(corollary - if he wanted an apology, he wouldn't have blocked you)

  • @TheFunCartel @Jubal @Krisha yall are all so right! Thanks for reaffirming that for me. Surely it was for the best lol. Wishing yall Happy Holidays πŸ€—

  • @friendlyj311 Happy holidays πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸŽ‡

Miscommunication is so easy with messaging. One typo leads to a landmine.

However, I've learned that someone elses's psrspective is not an evaluation of your worth. You know yourself far more than anyone else.

If you do have a number of people reacting to you in a certain negative way, it's worth looking into.

But i feel people should understand that messages are missing the tone and I wish more people would ask for clarification before blocking or going off the deep end.

  • @friendlyj311 If they meant to be in your life, they will come around. They were once stranger who became acquaintance or even friend… now they are back to stranger. Life moves on!

  • I had someone block me because he said I had not asked him a single question in our back and forth. We had been messaging back and forth for several weeks, I had definitely asked questions. πŸ™„

Who knows why people interpret things the way they do or do the things they do.

Take it as a blessing even if it doesn’t make sense to you.

  • You dodged a bullet with that one. He blocked you bc he was ashamed at his ugly reply to you. Don't give it anymore thought πŸ™‚ he filtered himself out of your way!

@MonkeyNeedsAHug how can the flintstones celebrate Christmas when Jesus wasn’t even born yet?

  • @friendlyj311 People are going to judge you.. "LET THEM"!! If you're going to be "here", you're going to need thick skin. It's no one's purpose in life to "please" anyone else, so there's no point in trying. You're not responsible for someone else's perceptions of anything/anyone. I can't tell you how many times I've been called a cunt because males will message me with something dirty and I reply back with "not interested". Don't sweat it! That person just wasn't a good "fit" for you. Better to find out sooner rather than later!

  • He made a typo and blames you for bad communication. He definitely has a problem and is most likely has insecure .
Him blocking you is probably the best thing he did for you.

  • Being blocked is actually the work of the cuddle gods intervening on your behalf.

    Be thankful.

  • Awwww thanks everyone for taking the time to provide your input! Very much appreciated and yeah it was definitely for the best lol.

  • @friendlyj311 It is indeed an awful feeling when someone has a different image about ourself than what we really are..especially when you are an empath (you seem like one).
We spend tons of energy trying to prove n convince them otherwise.

Our brains (unfortunately) wired to speculate the negative feelings.
For example : All these comments are so positive/supportive of you but imagine if someone indicated that you have done something wrong then our brains drop everything else and laser focus on the negative stuff.

I have been a borderline people pleaser and have chased/begged/supported/pleased people to change how they feel about me but lately I have been telling myself -

    • Do they have capacity to process what I am trying to communicate?
    • Can they respond with respect and consideration?
    • Is this person really important n worth my time n energy?
    • Isn't this unfair that I am spending my resources towards this individual rather towards someone I care or who care about me?
    • Am I letting this person living rent free in my thoughts?

I did relapse sometimes and went through this cycle to prove my worth
    but learning that
We have a very short life with limited resources. Please do not waste your energy towards some stranger that too on a website who actually blocked you and moved to the next victim.

Someone in the comments mentioned about 'LET THEM' theory. That is a good one. Let them think what they want. Not in your control.

    --Cheers!!

I like your sense of humor!! 🀣🀣
    β€œNo soup for you!!!!” πŸ˜‚

  • @GuyverGordon hahaha that's too funny!!!

  • @consciousseeker very well said! Thank you so much for sharing what has helped you. I'm gonna try to get better at that. And sadly I deal with it daily at work. But one of my goals for this coming year is to focus on worrying about me!

@great_pillow08 wow that's crazy! They really go to that extreme? Screw them lol

So grateful for all of you! Yall are all truly amazing! πŸ€—

  • @TxTom I agree with your sentiment ... Definitely a blessing to be blocked.

Blocking is never a bad thing to me anymore! 😁

For I was recently blocked by a Dudebro (who is a memorable repeat offender in my inbox 😠) here on CC, he messaged me months ago attempting "online sex talk" with me and YES I did report him and HE BLOCKED ME when I replied 'this is not platonic conversation" (again I also reported him for that as well) but he wasn't banned just given a warning, I think that's what I recalled happened to him..A warning! πŸ€”πŸ˜

So I decided to make a "note to self" (loving the note option😍) just in case he creeps into my inbox again...Lol! Which he did, he opened up with your basic " how are you?" BUT because I recognized creepy behavior him from last time plus my little note as a reminder πŸ˜‰ I chose to respond with "Go away please!". And he blocked me... Again! Lol πŸ€£πŸ˜†πŸ€£πŸ˜†

Maybe he'll keep himself blocked this time! 🀞😁

  • I feel lucky when someone reveals themself as a problem. I can then confidently avoid and move on. The obvious ones are a gift, lol.
