Embarrassed to be blocked for canceling

So, I made a request for booking a week ahead of time, reasoning that caring for dying parents had me worn out and in heed on some comforting, She agreed to the time in one short message but as the date grew closer, there was no address or follow-up even though I sent another message or two. The two days ahead. I had to cancel, as my mom took a turn and was expected to pass away on the day we had scheduled, or maybe the next day. I spent a few days holding mom's hand and now I see that the pro cuddler has blocked me. Maybe I should have said I would pay for the session when canceling? I am embarrassed and I guess thankful I did not get a bad review and mostly that I did not get a better chance to apologize. She had a few negative reviews from her own communication so I was a bit surprised, but still feel terrible about it all. So, sorry to the whole profession here.

  • I’m so sorry for your loss!

Given that she wasn’t communicating appropriately and has reviews related to this, I wouldn't worry about it too much. No need to feel bad about this. You have a lot on your plate, and it seems like she can’t handle the communication involved in this work.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss.
Please don't be embarrassed. Take it positively as you dodged a bullet.
The pro has their reasons and sometimes their reasons make no sense. And that's ok.
If that person is quick to disconnect over a cancelation... They were just not the person for you to cuddle with. You're still a treasure to the community. You bring communication and professionalism and I'm sure the best you can give. The right cuddle will happen for you. Keep on keeping on 🫂

  • You cancelled two days in advance with a pretty damn good reason. And you seem really respectful of pros on the site. She clearly doesn’t have any maturity and care towards being a pro cuddler so you dodged a bullet. I’m sorry for what you’re going through. I hope you’re able to get a good caring snuggle after this passes

@ALittleHelp What everyone has said, but I do have a question. Did you read her reviews before booking her? The reason I ask is negative karma is so rare that when you do see it and they have multiple bad karmas…well the galaxy is telling you something.

I’ve had people on this site block me that I never interacted with. I’ve never even visited their profile before and then at one point click on their profile because they see it on the forum or in a karma and I find out I’m blocked. Don’t take it too personally unfortunately common decency and common sense are not too common. I’m sorry for your loss.

  • You did absolutely nothing wrong and like others said shouldn’t be embarrassed in the slightest.
There are plenty of pros on here that would be more understanding and empathetic of the circumstances and you gave plenty of notice where the pro could have still booked other people. And no you shouldn’t have had to pay for a session that didn’t happen.
Sorry for your loss and I hope you find some lovely comforting cuddle experiences that go smoothly in the future ♥️

  • I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. It really does not sound like you did anything wrong here.

I've come to view blocking as a morally neutral boundary, not a personal failing. A block is just someone setting a boundary, which the site communicates. People can have any number of reasons for blocking - clash of personalities, incompatibility for cuddling, just not having the bandwidth to communicate, etc.

In consent communication practices, we learn to hear a boundary, thank them for telling us, and then let it go. While with a block you cannot tell the person "thank you for honestly communicating your no/boundary", you can still say it/send the thought out into the universe, and give yourself permission to accept and move on. Many of us have learned to accept without guilt or shame if a partner tells us "no thanks" to a touch - we can apply that same principle to online communication.
