I find both have their place. Which do you prefer, and why?
@AmazingEmbrace Please read the sticky post at the top of the Lounge if you're confused what it's for. It's a place to discuss contentious topics or topics that have become so.
Moving this to General forum.
I enjoy complete silence during cuddling. I like being fully present in the moment gazing into their eyes and listening to something deeper than words can express. I enjoy focusing on the sensations and the quiet connection between us.
That said, I also enjoy conversation, laughter, and when someone feeds my mind with interesting knowledge. I incorporate both quiet connection and conversation into my sessions. Depending on the natural flow of the session, some have more silence, while others have more conversation. If we're having fun, I sometimes end up talking a lot because I'm thoroughly entertained. 😝
You never really know what you're going to get with me. It's like rolling the 🎲.
I tend to like variety in most parts of life, cuddling included. A session entirely in silence would probably send my ADHD brain into overdrive and I'd be too distracted to ever actually relax fully. And while talking with cuddle partners is something I really enjoy, lapsing into silence isn't awkward imo, it's just a natural ebb and flow. Mostly I don't like forcing either way - forcing silence or forcing chatter.
it depends on the cuddle participants in my opinion. Some find therapy in talking and others silence. I think it becomes about how "relaxed" a person can be in the moment. That's my 2 cents...if pennies were still a thing.
I like to make full unwavering eye contact while screaming and making silly animal noises
@pmvines can attest to the eye contact and animal noises - thankfully didn't experience any screaming 😅
@cuddlefaery
I do one hell of a howler monkey don't I? Very cuddly
I also like to finish by sitting on you while I weep
Exactly what @cuddlefaery said, down to the neurodivergence😂❤️
It's down to personal preference of the cuddler. If I sense they want silence, I respect that. If they want to chat, I will politely listen to their life story. Some people love to get into a comfy cuddle position and then proceed to " Offload" all of their troubles to me, hence I need time to be emotionally prepared. I have had people who tell me in advance they they are very shy and / or autistic, yet they would like me to engage in conversation and be patient in waiting for their response. Personally, I don't like complete silence, I usually will have on some chilled music in the background, relaxing classical or pop songs without lyrics, at a comfortable volume. 😌
You know when someone asks that in DMs in the “get to know” phase of things, it raises warning flags about dubious compatibility. That question is often asked by people who script interactions with others, which in and of itself is ok, it’s just not what I enjoy. I like organic go with the flow sessions because I enjoy Easter eggs and surprises. This usually involves conversation and COMFORTABLE silences where both parties drift in and out of both with ease like friends do. So neither either or both—more of a wait and see what we create in a shared space.
When it’s a good fit for me, then we can take and laugh and share and lapse into comfortable silence. If i feel pressured to talk, it’s not a good fit. If I'm with someone i have absolutely nothing in common with to talk about then it’s also not a good fit.
It all depends on my cuddle partner. I find some enjoy the pleasure of silence. Yet others I find bliss in the conversation. I love them both and each has its place.
Depends entirely on the mood for me. I like both! I feel comfortable having harder/deeper conversations with someone when we're both a little vulnerable. But I also like when it shifts to a comfortable silence of just holding each other and being present in the activity.
Yes to all of the above. As an Aquarius and ambivert (introvert based), I’m not the one who will drive conversation, but I like participating. I’m very aware of that about myself. I’ll usually mention that to the cuddler when planning a session. I don’t need the other person to dominate conversations, but if they are relying on me to start every conversation, we’re gonna have some nice silent pauses while we enjoy the moment and I think of what to say next. Ha!
Hello @BlueIris. I made that observation prior to posting but for some reason it wouldn’t allow me to post in the general forum. Thanks anyway.
I like complete silence for sure
Depends on the people, the connection and organic needs of all parties in my experience
As you know there is room for both. I mean you will meet all kinds of folks with different personal histories, interests and personality and which fits at any given time will always be in flux
Honestly, it completely depends on what the client needs in that moment. Some days, sharing a good conversation and venting is the perfect way to unwind. Other times, just having a safe, quiet space to breathe and enjoy comfortable silence is incredibly healing. As a practitioner, my goal is always to follow the client’s lead and provide whichever one brings them the most peace.
I like to talk
A mixture of the both to me. I love a funny cuddler.
Also remember not to use emoticon in a text message. Sometimes they apparently have alternate inappropriate meanings. This happened to me before in a text outside of here. I thought it was just a random literal meaning and I got texted back something like they were like confused about why I sent that. I later learned the meaning and everything made sense. I dont use that one anymore
I enjoy and value both! I simply go with the flow of my cuddle partner🤗
according to another thread, wearing a suit 🕴🏽
It would depend on if it was one of the first times I was with my Cuddle partner or how well I know them. Or what they needed as well. There’s times I’ve had to hold space for somebody and just been there in complete silence. If it’s somebody knew, I would probably talk and ask general questions about them to get a feel for them.
For me, it would vary from person to person.
Largely immersed in my awesome playlist…… coupled with a few paragraphs of short conversations peppered in for good measure….. topped by an occasional impactful sentence of sentimental significance…
I love the conversations, especially when getting to know the other person. Humorous anecdotes are the best, as is sharing stories about awesome things they've done or seen. I find peaceful silences are more meaningful after a wonderful conversation. 😊
Personally I love chatting and getting to know someone. especially for a first time. I feel that’s kinda needed to lay the groundwork of a exceptional future cuddle. once you have established a connection with someone those moments are seriously so relaxing. otherwise things kinda feel awkward if you’re just meeting and don’t know if everything is peaceful On their side. I’ve had times where conversations have fell flat and it’s almost like pulling teeth having a conversation for a first time cuddle. after I initiate a conversation like 4 times and get one word answers I assume the person doesn’t want to talk and it’s better if I keep quiet but it’s harder for me to relax if that isn’t talked about beforehand. Not a mind reader and hard to tell if it’s first time nerves or wanting silence so having that Clarified beforehand is so appreciated 😂
Neither! Just feeling a comfortable energy where myself and the cuddler are at ease and on the same page.. however that manifests.. with or without words ❤️
