Fast ban

Holy cow I as writing to a new member and then said how did they find out about theatre. And asked if they were going to be an enthusiast or pro. Then when they responded they were pro-pending. As I was typing my reply they got banned! 😱that’s a first for me!

    I have only been on here for 2 days so far, and there are so many messages in my inbox, that a few showed "banned" in there and were grayed out before I even got a chance to reply to theirs.
    I was like, oh goodness, what did these men do? Glad I didn't have to deal with it 😅

    Not a ban but I once had someone message me and by the time I got into check about 15 minutes after their message was received they had already deleted their account. 🤷‍♀️

    Create another account with the same ip address of a banned account probably and the system doing auto bans

    I definitely have someone repeatedly making fake/new accounts messaging me. Everytime we start chatting, they get banned. At first I thought it was a coincidence but it kept happening. I think it’s what @SqueezeBuddy said. Why do people do this??? 😫 It’s cringey and creepy.

    @MindTherapy right???? Like I understand they are violating rules but I’m assuming there are a pretty common one that gets violated.

    @SpinDoctor most common ones: an already banned person creating more accounts to circumvent said ban, and offering or seeking non-platonic services.

    In the last month I have sent 2 welcome messages to 2 different new female enthusiats & both of their replies back to me have been completely innocous, but before I get a chance to reply back to their replies to my original greeting message they have both been banned. ?🤷‍♂️?

    There's a lot of banning and deleting on here, aye. I get some brief amusement looking back over my most recent "profiles you've viewed" and seeing how many have been banned. Of the few profiles I looked through yesterday for example, 3 have been banned. My inbox/outbox is like 70% greyed out names at any given time. It's all a bit strange, but we continue.

    If they're new then it could be that their profile didn't get approved, which is an appealable decision. Mine was denied when I first got here because they thought my picture was AI 😅 I appealed it easy peasy and was back on.

    Please don’t tell people the most common reasons for people being banned when you have no data to support your claim.

    Implying you have inside information and sharing it like that just chums the water. If people want the dirt, they should sign up for the newsletter like I did.

    Not only do you get all the juicy gossip, but I hear the money raised from subscriptions is funding a health savings account for the moderators.

    I’m no expert, but I’d be willing to bet many more pros are banned for behavior that could cheat CC out of it’s cut (giving out phone numbers without a booking, underreporting session length, etc.) than for offering non-platonic services, or for creating duplicate accounts.

    @MonkeyNeedsAHug I'm sure that's up around like 3rd ... But it's also not as fast of a ban as if the only infraction is giving out contact info or being an untagged pro, they'll get a warning first and a chance to rectify. The other two are more instant bans, no warnings.
