Losing Hope

I know I am new here but I am already starting to lose hope that I will be successful. So far I have had 3 bookings...one successful and two cancellations. I have lowered my hourly rate but still nothing. Am I just being impatient or should I be doing something different??

  • That sounds frustrating Jana. When I read a profile I want to get sense of who you are and what the experience of cuddling would be. For me I don’t need an explanation of why you don’t host. I assume that when I see host isn’t an option. You may want to focus on what kind of energy you bring to it.

Also, you may want look at a few pros who have lots of karma and good reviews and see how they talk about themselves. Don’t copy of course. But use it as template.

    You got this! :)

  • I only added that part because even though it was not checked... people were still asking if I could.

  • @JanaMarie74
Some of them will still ask even if it’s in your profile underlined and bolded. 🤷‍♀️

There are pro forums specifically where I think a lot of these things are discussed as well.

  • Thank you

  • @JanaMarie74 your profile is great but I personally would get rid of the first paragraph.
    Just my opinion….
That information will flow naturally during conversations IF they even want to know and since it’s the first thing ppl are reading on your profile it may deter them from continuing to read the rest.
Sometimes ppl are just purely looking for an easy comfort cuddle without having to think about all the little details.
I hope that makes sense and is helpful!
    Keep going! 🙌🏽

  • Location can make or break success as well. From what I remember of Easley, I can't imagine that there's large awareness or demand out there. If you're able and willing to, expanding your service/search area would likely help. I believe Cola has more activity than Greenville, although college towns are more likely to have people aware of platonic cuddling in the first place, so Clemson would probably be good too!

And honestly? Try to have patience. It can just plain take time to build up clientele and to find your niche. If you can find some in-person cuddle events near you (Cuddle Party, Meetup, Eventbrite, FB groups, Nextdoor, etc.), it can help a lot to network with people already active in the community. Advertising on other platforms and getting creative with local outreach can go a long way as well.

    Wishing you all the best!

  • There might not be a great demand for "pro" cuddlers. I myself do not even search for professional cuddlers. Some have checked out my profile, which I am sure will happen after I make this post. Sometimes, I look at pros profile by accident or they some up as a search. Location might be your issue and like the other person said give it time.

  • I think it’s possible you’re being impatient. You joined in July, not very long ago.

Are you sure you want to be a pro? Why not try to find some cuddles as an enthusiast? You’re very upfront and honest about “craving touch for survival.” That’s one of the realest statements I’ve seen on this site.

I’m not sure that’s going to help you find bookings as a pro. And I’m not sure how to put it into words but… it projects need. And that’s not bad. It’s lovely. I need and crave touch too. It’s beautiful. But I think you might secure more bookings if you advertise yourself less as one craving and needing and more as one providing, because your need verges on desperation. (And again I don’t think that’s bad. It’s very human and honest. But if you’re trying to secure bookings as a pro I think it doesn’t help).

Lastly I’d bump your price back up.

Hope this all makes sense and isn’t offensive. It’s odd to consider marketing when talking about human need and intimacy.

  • Points taken. Changes made. Thank you all for the advice.

  • I think part of the problem is being new and no karma yet. I also think your about me part of your profile may need some tweaking. You want to convey why others will love cuddling with you.

  • @JanaMarie74 love reading all the great feedback you’re receiving here.

I agree with @SoulSurvivor about being an Enthusiast first, find your rhythm. If cuddling strangers is for you then do more research by looking through Pro’s profiles for inspiration for writing you own.

I think @trysdet makes a solid point about communicating why they would love to cuddle you. Maybe a few key details on what sets you apart from others.

Wishing you many wonderful connections and experiences. Happy Cuddling!

  • Hey @JanaMarie74

I am a pro, and have been on here a couple years now. I would probably be described as "successful", so I can offer some advice if you want it.

    Things that have helped:
-Being active in the community, not just to get clients. I attend meet and greets (and helped organize one), I go to in person events like the Human Connection Conference here in Colorado, and I socialize with other cuddlers (pros, enthusiasts and clients). Networking is super helpful for getting clients and having a positive reputation. Plenty of other pros or enthusiasts have sent clients my way because they trust me.
-Also be active on the site. Update your pictures, check out forums, message people who visit your profile multiple times, and keep your profile info current
-Detailed profile (feel free to check mine out, as long as you don't just copy and paste verbatim). I have had many first time cuddle clients express that my profile put them at ease, answered all their questions and made them feel like I was a good choice for a first session.

    Things to be mindful of:
-I would never tell anyone this is a consistent source of income. Colorado is one of the most cuddle positive states, and I still have entire months with no clients at all. Some months, I have tons of clients. At best, this is a side gig but not something you can bet your rent on.
-Location matters a lot, and every area has different numbers of potential clients and pros so keep an eye on that in your area
-Screening for good clients is so much more important than having lots of clients. After my first year, I got real picky and did more safety screening (public meet first, ID check, deposits, etc). I don't have as many clients, because I turn down a lot of messages, but my clients are the absolute best and I feel much safer now.

If this is important for you, be patient and keep at it! This is genuinely the best community ever and I love the work and the people, so the money is just a bonus.

Feel free to message anytime if you wanna chat about it 💛

  • @TattooSqueeze I agree with you

  • @JanaMarie74

I keep hearing from pros that the hot summer months are definitely the slow season.

    Good luck.

  • Strangely enough, it's on a hot summer night that you're supposed to offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses.

  • @trysdet I think when your goal is to attract everyone, you will inadvertently attract no one. While I am open to cuddling everyone, I know I am not the right match/provider for everyone. I believe niching down may yield less clients but more quality clients that are looking for the experience you are providing.
