Pro's vs non pro's

[Deleted User]cuddlebear989 (deleted user)

I was wondering why their are so many pro's vs non pro's? Are the people that become a pro just greedy and want the money? It seems to me that enthusiasts don't have a lot of choices of cuddlers if the can't afford a pro. I get that a pro wants to help people. It's not like they went to college to get a degree in cuddling and to become legally trained by the state. Just wondering.

I'm honestly not exactly sure on why either. I've tried out pros and non pros. The pros that I've seen genuinely care for other people and they see money as a bonus. I'm even good friends with a pro.

However, I think being with a non pro is really beneficial because its like having a friend. Its a whole different dynamic than a pro. I feel bad for those who seek a non pro and don't find one.

    Supply and demand.

When SOME women see the money pros make and get a taste for how many men are seeking?

Come on. Easy move. Why do it for free when 100 are ready to pay and you still get the same cuddles.

Now is that everyone? Of course not but there are some pros who aren’t pros and really just see the fact that being paid for it isn’t such a bad thing and you walk away cuddled with your car paid for in a few hours a month.

Because non pros get so many messages because you also have the men who go, “wow FREE! Hoo boy I can save 50-100 an hour!”

    Goes both ways.

Now I’d prefer an actual connection. Mutual enjoyment and a friend.

But if I am going to pay it had better not be you falling asleep in one position as my arm is under you because that isn’t cuddling.

That’s you using me as some sort of sucker and it isn’t exactly what cuddling could be.

Just my take. YMMV. Doesn’t speak for all but let’s not run from the reality that some guys see non pros as “free cuddle” and some pros see the guys as easy marks for a part time gig that pays better than the day job.

I agree. Most pro's seem to care about their clients. But I think that they take advantage of people's loneliness and they cash in.

  • I have friends who are paid cuddlers, and have even hung out with them and cuddled with a few as friends, not as a client. And I can tell you the ones I know at least are really genuine and enjoy it, and want to help people and see it as a service type of field. I certainly don't fault someone or call them greedy for being able to make a little money doing it. I find it is usually people who are upset that they are not able to find a cuddle pal on their own who get angry at people who charge to do it. But for those who cannot find one on their own, the paid cuddlers are a good resource to have.

Of the women on this site, actually only about 15% are professionals (worldwide); they're just more active so it may seem like there are more of them.

I'm sure there would be some that are money oriented, but I don't think those ones last very long (because there is a lot more to it than they expected and/or they set their fees to high and/or they don't get as many repeat clients). I think the vast majority of professionals do it because they are loving and affection people already, and cuddling is a good fit for them as a profession or sideline.

I don't see them as taking advantage of people's loneliness; I see them as offering a service for which there is a need. Many of them wouldn't have nearly as much time to cuddle if they weren't supported in doing it.

There have been lots of discussions about prices though:

    High price of cuddling
    Cuddling rates
    How much do you charge?

  • [Deleted User]cuddlebear989 (deleted user)

I get that. I'm not angry about the pro vs non pro ratio. It sucks a bit when their are so many pro's. I just get the feeling that you are paying for a escort but not getting anymore in return. I just want to make some new friends on here without needing to pay someone to be a rent a friend.

  • edited July 2018

The cuddlers on here are not escorts or sex workers and I am sure feel rather insulted with the insinuation. And nobody is stopping you from making friends. Whether they are paid to cuddle or not, doesn't mean they don't want to also have friends. It may not end up being a scenario where you are meeting them to cuddle and what not, but doesn't mean you cant converse, maybe meet for coffee or hang out socially if you hit it off as friends and what not. My best friend was a cuddler on this site. She isnt on here anymore and doesnt do the cuddler thing anymore. We talk all the time and have made road trips to hang out as she is out of state, That being said, we don't just hang out and cuddle. I understand that was something she did as a service provider and is not something she does all the time in her personal life with just anyone. I say all this to point out the fact that yes, someone may be open to being your friend, but that doesn't necessarily mean you are going to be cuddle pals, even though this is a cuddle site. People are allowed to be selective in their personal lives.

  • [Deleted User]cuddlebear989 (deleted user)

I wasn't calling them that or meet anything by it. It just how it felt with the money exchange before the session. Also their was a little awkwardness after the exchange.

@cuddlebear989 I agree it can be surprisingly difficult to connect with non-professionals here, and the dynamic is quite different as @GameStriker4481 mentioned.

But it can actually simplify things a bit when you cuddle professionals ... there's less confusion about expectations and it's clearer that it's just platonic. I've cuddle two enthusiasts and one wanted to make things sexual (I didn't, and she's left the site) and the other became unsure how she felt about cuddling outside of a romantic relationship. With a professional it feels like we're more on the same page. Though I'm sure there are plenty of enthusiasts who get it; just my experiences so far.

Having said that, I do want a connection when I cuddle someone! So my ideal person to cuddle (professional or not) is someone I click with on an emotional level too, and can become friends with over time. Which I do believe is possible with a pro too (relevant thread).

In my limited experience talking to people, it appears expectations are clear when communicating with a pro. They try to figure out if you are a good human being genuinely interested in sharing platonic touch and respect their boundaries in addition to the rules on the site.

Non - pros look confused . They seem to treat snuggling as dating and care about profession and career and language and race and religion and height and weight and all sorts of things people look in a potential date.

I know it's frustrating to see your area is filled with pro's, but keep in mind how frustrating it is to meet people on here in general.

I'm not a pro and I get some rude messages and people who are very pushy and people who refuse to answer questions or don't read your profile. But that's normal for girls on most social media connection platforms. I know know pro's deal with far worse because people decide that you -owe- them your time because they intend to pay for it.

More than once, I've considered going pro, because at least if I'm going to get badgered by the same person I politely declined, I can flip the situation and earn. Or if the person shows up and it turns out their picture was ten years old, at least I can flip the situation and earn. Or if they overstay their welcome, or text the whole time, or whatever annoying thing, at least you're earning.

And there's nothing stopping you from befriending a pro. So you pay them to hang out, so what. How is that any different than meeting a friend for a game, or a concert, or a beer, or a movie, or bowling? You have to pay for those experiences, you just aren't paying your friend directly. A lot of the time, spending time with friends costs money. Does that stop you from spending time with them?

Cut out the middle man and get your cuddle on.

  • There's only two pro's in my country, so that might be a regional thing.

  • might be a regional thing but I know in LA and the Bay, cuddling has a huge market. huge demand especially with these busy cities where folks are mainly kept to themselves or have a hard time finding folks to cuddle. i come across a lot of folks who say they are not too keen on being touched. and as much as folks say they could really use a cuddle right now (very popular twitter status quote) they will always have preference as to who they cuddle with. i think the cuddle enthusiasts on here are amazing for taking that step ahead of actually looking for a cuddle opportunity (whether with another cuddle enthusiast or a pro).

an old roommate, upon finding out my profession, said she couldn't stand the thought of being touched or held and folks i know who reached out to me to try out professional cuddling "for the money" ultimately found that they couldn't do it. they considered an hour of "just cuddling" to be "too much" either because they did not like, and i quote "laying next to a stranger for a long time" or they found their energy drained.

i'll be honest.. as a pro, i find it disheartening when folks i know do it for the money. however, i firmly believe that they will find out eventually that cuddling cannot be a commodity. the professional behind the cuddling service has to very much be somebody who understands what they are doing and why they are doing it. they do not realize how important things are as a professional to provide QUALITY cuddling sessions and GREAT customer service. they may not realize that cuddling takes a lot of energy, emotional labor, and high consideration. thus, cuddle agencies have established training programs for this, believe it or not.

a non-pro might be able to cuddle with you but you will always have their preferences, schedule, and quirks to consider. as a pro, i prioritize my cuddlers' preferences and try to accommodate to their cuddling and space requests within code of conduct of course. i do not ever cuddle with a bad attitude, or a bad mood because it will affect the energy exchanged between the cuddler and i and the cuddler may leave feeling worse than how they came. as a pro, i have to be aware of my energy and channel only good energy with my cuddler partner. as a pro, i take my cuddling business very seriously that i do not get swayed by offers of more money or cash tips if i cuddle in underwear or allow any funny business that is strictly prohibited on this site and my own.

that is just my two cents but i always encourage to keep looking for the cuddle partner you deserve! not every pro is going to be the one for you and if pros and paid cuddles are not your thing, power to you for knowing that! good luck on your search!

  • I think all points have been properly covered. Good thread. :-) There definitely are pros on here just looking for easy money. I have heard from many people experiences where they felt their money was wasted. Be very intentful in finding the right quality pro for you. I hate hearing about people feeling like they wasted their money :-( Pros are not cheap!! Screen us just like we screen you. The genuine ones are completely worth the money. I will add that my clients feel like we are friends. There are definitely different kinds of pros depending on what you're looking for.

  • I have met so many non-pros on this site that just joined and then told me they plan on being a pro. So before I had a chance to see them they became a pro. One lady we talked and I told her I only seen pros and she asked what I paid and then after that she decided to become a pro. We never met to cuddle.

  • @MaxCuddle On the surface, the hourly rate is hard for people to pass up. But in the end, it's not enough if you aren't incredibly comfortable being physically close to strangers. It's not as glamorous of a job as it seems. Unless you genuinely love it, in which case, it's the best work ever :-)

This song is genious in describing the situation, for me.
Makes me feel selfish to think about the song this way but, there it is,

    Focus - By H.E.R.
Produced by H.E.R. & DJ Camper

    [Chorus]
    Me—Can you focus on me?
Baby, can you focus on me?
    Babe—

    [Verse 1]
    Hands in the soap
    Have the faucet's running
And I keep looking at you
    Stuck on your phone
And you're stuck in your zone
    You don't have a clue
    ...

Have a listen. I hope you like the song, no matter how you connect to it.

@MaxCuddle Same, that has happened to me a lot. As I stated previously, its kinda sad how a lot of people miss out how awesome having a non pro is. Luckily, I met someone on here who is a non pro and we became friends. Then we became closer like family. We shared secrets, struggles, and were just there for one another.

the dynamic between a cuddler and a pro can be very much beneficial on its own. no sticky business, always getting quality cuddles (when you find your suitable pro), requests and cuddle session catered to you. i know so many folks have shared with me experiences where their cuddle partner (pro or not) tried to get sexual with them or their pro failed to provide a good cuddle session or a good space for an incall. i want to express my dearest apologies, not on behalf of them but as a pro on the site, i feel more on behalf of the pro community here. and i urge folks to use the karma feature and report any pro that pushes for more than a cuddle. same if anybody ever books a session with me... i've had folks give me feedback and i wholeheartedly appreciate every comment. heck, even one person left karma mentioning that i did not have adequate AC for a cuddle session during the hottest days of summer and guess what... i made sure that my next place has AC now.. AC and heater is available at my place for this very reason. this is what comes with being a professional.

@ cuddlebear989 ... the abundance of pros you noticed .. in addition to the “ call for pros “ , on the home pages , the site monitors messages of non pro enthusiasts. Once a non pro is noticed to be active , and is determined to have the right stuff, there is an attempt to recruit the enthusiast. , and re- assign the account as professional. That could , account for a small percentage of the pros.

Another sub- category of professionals , is , there are some that sign up as pro without ever intending to engage in that activity .
That is a way a non pro reduces the inbox influx of messages , to some degree , while still browsing the Cuddler displays , of a possible target Cuddler partner

  • @cuddler4u24 The site's founder @Mark isn't someone who would try to recruit enthusiasts to become pros, especially not by monitoring their messages!

If you take a look at his interview the third question is about the intention for the site. That might help clarify some things.

  • @cuddlerforu24 I am not sure where you have heard that re attempting to recruit people and monitoring their messages, but that is not accurate. Are you sure you are thinking of the correct site?

  • Respectful and pmvines: I was informed , of the practice , by a non pro in person , that the site sent her the suggestion .
At the time I had no reason to doubt her.

Also I was informed by an active pro , In person that there is in fact a reader of messages . I believe if you read the terms and conditions of the site you are warned of just that .

  • If that is true I would be interested to hear what @Mark has to say about it. I do know that if there is suspicious activity or if someone is reported messages are subject to being monitored but I don't believe there is big brother tapping into all of our private messages. And I have never heard about anybody being recruited or attempts made to recruit and I have bunches of pro and non pro friends who I converse regularly and openly with. Not saying it is not plausible, just am saying I have never heard of it.

    Nope.

    Nope.

I'm not aware of us ever encouraging a non-Pro to become a Pro in the history of this website. In fact, I'm personally a little disappointed when I see an enthusiast turn Pro - I want to increase the female to male ratio of enthusiasts.

There was a bug earlier this year that caused some restored accounts (after de-activation) to mistakenly see a page that only Pros see but I think this was isolated to male accounts. There was also another bug that caused all female accounts to see a Pro section on their homepage. This lasted 24-48 hours. Perhaps it was a case of misinterpreting one of those situations?

@Mark thank you for the clarification. I personally would have been a bit disappointed had an attempt to recruit cuddlers been true as I like the organically grown nature and feel of the place.

I can’t argue with who is in charge . I only stated , what I have heard .
I have read stories of successful actors , models , whose careers were launched after a suggestion “ you should try ...”
If there is someone who is good at something , why not make money at it

Fairly standard terms and sensible for here considering the scammers we are banning on a regular basis.

But no, we do not monitor enthusiast messages. Putting any ethical arguments aside, it would be a colossal waste of time and resources for what is a very streamlined operation.

Do we sometimes look at enthusiast messages? Yes. For example, if someone gets reported, we might look at their inbox. If we think there is reasonable suspicion, we might check on that inbox a few times over a short period of time in order to come to a conclusion. Also, if someone is innocent but happened to have a conversation with someone who is reported, we will unavoidably see both sides of the conversation.

By the way, I wouldn't want to rule out non-human monitoring (e.g. detecting keywords that are considered red flags) as a possibility for the future. There's no plan for that now though.
