Has anyone tried a heavy or weighted blanket? They weigh about 10 to 25 pounds and are suppose to feel like a hug and provide more restful spleep.

Yes, I have one. It’s 20#, which is super-heavy, but great for anxiety. I’d love a 10# one to use more regularly.
I often bring my blanket to cuddles with first-time clients in case they are nervous.

I don't know if weighted blankets would be helpful for me. If I have extra blankets on the bed in the winter and they're too heavy, I get anxious, not calm down. I use a heated blanket to increase the warmth factor without adding weight. That said, I don't have any anxiety issues normally. Just thought I'd add my two cents.
I am not fond of heavy blankets when cuddling, but they are wonderful when alone.
My blanket is 25 lbs, as i am a larger guy. I find that my blanket allows me to sleep deeper longer and and fall asleep faster. When i sometime need to wait awhile to dose off, under the heavy blanket i don’t.
I can't stand any weight on me when I am sleeping. Here in Arizona in the summer I sleep with nothing on top of me, not even a sheet. In the winter, I sleep under a quilt but it's fairly lightweight.
I got a cheap twelve pounder from Target. I could probably go heavier, though, honestly. Maybe I'll add a second one to the mix I save up a little.

I’ve heard from friends that, if you are already moderately good at sewing, they are easy.
(And, if you need fabric inspo, fabric.com is wear I picked out my fabric that she used!)
Kind of using one now? I have a denim comforter, and as you’d expect it’s quite heavy. It’s been wonderful for me. I used to struggle to sleep alone but this really helps. I think it might be slightly easier to sew too? (Debatable) it’s stuctured like a normal comforter, so no weights, ect. But it’s just made entirely out of denim.
I like it, what's it stuffed with? I'm assuming the top and bottom are denim? I bet it does have nice weight to it.
I'd like to try one, I'd imagine it would help with my RLS.
I didn't know heavy blankets were a thing before this thread, but I guess I've had it forever.
They are good and work like passive weight on you. But I would rather have a genuine cuddle buddy giving n sharing warmth IMHO.
@PaulaDahla I handmade mine and absolutely loved it, at least until my pup arrived. I didn't get the right fabric so the beads kept popping out. It can be pretty time consuming but isn't too hard to make! I'm planning on making another pretty soon here and well.
I thought about buying one, but then I got Felix who is a 6' tall teddy bear and that's plenty of weight for me. My husband has said that watching me Lug Felix around the apartment tends to be a funny sight with my short stature but I do like to sleep with it more on me than beside me, so it's a more convoluted weighted blanket lol

My son got a weighted blanket for christmas. He has autism and really likes the feeling of it. He also tens to wear tighter clothes and has leg weights and a weighted vest that he will wear if he is out walking the neighborhood sometimes.

I suggested a weighted blanket for my husband, though I think the concept kinda freaked him out. Of course, panic attack disorder in mind, it kind of makes sense for him to want to sleep light weight.
