Cherry Blossoms

I love cherry blossoms and all the other flowering trees around this time of year. They don't bloom for very long, but there is something so beautiful about when they rain down pedals when the wind picks up.

What in nature do you find peaceful and heartwarming to you?

    I love the California Poppies that come up in my garden every spring. They are so cheerful. Everyone who walks by notices them.

    I love water and lakes. Specifically the lake which surrounds the small island where I grew up, nestled right in the prairies. My family no longer has our cabin out there, but I dream of one day returning. The tie I have to the lake is very strong. To look out at it, or even imagine it is my balm to whatever emotion I'm feeling. It's especially nice when the campers are gone, and you stay year round in the isolation. It isn't a lonely isolation though, it's more of a knowing that you are one of the only humans on the island, and yet you're surrounded by life still in the form of nature. Here is the sunset I took in exactly three years ago today while standing on the rock shoreline at the beach.

    @FunCartel I did. It acts like it will attach the image but it doesn't seem to post the image with. There were multiple attempts made. I think it's more my phone and the browser but I'm not at home to try this on my notebook. Thanks though! :)

    @respectful amazing photography as usual, but you know I love your pictures. I wish I had a decent camera, keep them coming please!! Everyone. Here's my favorite flower this time of year, well one of them but the others aren't blooming yet in cold zone 4. Small and round but big presence...that's not why I like them honest!!

    @respectful Your flowers are absolutely beautiful and I will admit to not being at all familiar with at least two of them. I am a flower lover as well and have even gone as far as to carry field guides around when exploring! So thanks for the loveliness.

    The small white bell shaped I posted are called commonly lilly of the valley, jacobs ladder, or Mary's tears. Their known in the scent world as muguet. They are extremely potent scent wise and usually grown in shady areas and the flowers aren't easily visible without getting right down there and moving leaves so when that distinctive smell hits me I always start looking down!

    The last one far left, bottom almost looks heart shaped. I'm sure it's all part of the same marsh area but the way the channel is carved at the moment is definitely heart shaped!

    These are from an area called Rocky Ponds, close to Sydney. It's hard to get to but a very peaceful place.

    my parent's home currently has the greenest and most flourishing front yard. i wish i had a picture to show but i was just admiring it the other day while i watched my nephew slide down a bright red slide onto the grass... the colors were quite beautiful through my eyes.

    A clear sky with no moon was perfect for seeing shooting stars from the Eta Aquariids meteor shower last night. The background is the Milky Way.
