If we're smart about it, we don't have to keep so much shut down.

If you follow the medical professionals' recommendations for an individual, make sure you get a good diet without too much sugar, and get adequate exercise, with social distancing and some common sense / basic logic, we can get through this thing without overwhelming the hospitals and shutting down too much business.

It's impossible to 100% avoid infection or have a 0% death rate going forward; it's worse than the flu, it's going to ravage through the community until we build immunity, and avoiding it too much can cause it to explode later.

I have a scratched lung that makes me more vulnerable, so I've been studying this thing every day for months, hours every day typically (passively while I work generally), so I think I'm more educated than the average American about it, and I can tell you that a good and properly-maintained immune system will make you safer than full avoidance ultimately.

I really wish people would get more educated and take better steps to protecting themselves, and also that the governments would advise more on this than just shutting things down, because the current situation is not sustainable for our economy, and taken too far will make people more susceptible to being overwhelmed by any virus.

  • Diet won't protect you from Covid-19. To protect yourselves, follow the government's recommendations. Go to https://www.coronavirus.gov/
Do NOT take any notice of what the WHO (World Health Organization) says.

  • Which Government? Government With No Medical Background? Common Sense Is To Follow The Real Medical Doctors Recommendations.

  • The key to defence against any threat, is to not rely on any single method, but to do everything possible.

Some people will catch it, and they will have a better chance of survival if they are fitter and don't smoke ; so that any retained lung function is more effective.

The way to "not keep so much shut down", is to take the opportunity to be aggressive in the short term.

The virus has a weakness we must exploit. Outside the human body, it has a short life ; inside many human bodies, it multiplies. The best strategy is therefore to prevent the design instructions of Covid-19, from reaching these potential "factories of Weapons of Mass Destruction".

90% of those dying from COVID-19 have comorbidities. The other 10%, were thought to be healthy, fit, and died anyway. There has been some mention of genetic susceptibility. We don’t fully understand why some young healthy people are dying.

I strongly agree with most of what you have said, except the last comment that a healthy immune system would be better than avoidance. I’m taking extra precautions because I almost never get sick but I might be one of the possibly 50% of people who show no symptoms and I don’t want to infect anyone else.

What @geoff1000 said is accurate. May I add that if you practice avoidance and don’t get exposed to the virus, your chances of getting it or dying from it are zero; whereas if you are healthy with a great immune system and exposed to it your chances of transmitting it to others, getting ill, or dying are nonzero.

  • @LoveCuddling20 - Most medical doctors know nothing about the Coronavirus. For that you need a infectious disease expert. And the US based its guidelines on the recommendations of the top infectious disease specialists in the world.
