Is massage allowed?

And any pro also doing massage?

Comments

  • @chocolatey775 there are a number of ladies listed in Las Vegas that are massage therapists and they offered that as a service. Nothing non-platonic about a massage in my opinion. After a hard 6 days of working out, I know I appreciate a great massage to get the knots out. ;)

  • "Massage" is even less well defined than "cuddling".

  • Tbh when it comes to cuddling I’m very passive I let the ladies lead & make it more about them than me even if I’m the one seeking , hard to explain but yeah.

  • My rule is I only do massages over the clothes. I usually only short massage for about five or ten minutes and then get back to cuddling

@introvme interesting perspective. I see "passive" as being more about you - like you are waiting to be served. I'm pretty active when I cuddle for the very reason you mentioned. I'm more of a giver and try to be very observant and in the moment to know how my partner best wants to be cuddled/touched/massaged/etc.

I don’t believe it’s not allowed. I however do not allow massaging in the cuddle space. it would be making it all too easy for clients to violate the terms and conditions of platonic cuddling as well as personal boundaries. as for me the professional though I was trained but am not a certified licensed massage therapist. I cannot do any massage. I would be held legally responsible for any injury I potentially cause.

Yeah I don’t see it that way @DrCuddleBug lol ... - as far as you being “active” do you mean that as far as pros or enthusiasts? Because I see “”active” as - “i paid” so I’m buying her time to do what I want ...

I see it the way you said I see it on your 2nd half of your comment which you understood perfectly @ “for the very reason you mentioned” ☺️

@introvme I have no idea what you are talking about. Lol By active, I mean I'm not just lying there like a deaf fish waiting for my partner to initiate e dr move or cuddle position. She may, of course, but I'm not just passively waiting. My cuddle partners are not there just to meet my needs, so I am actively seeking to meet theirs.

  • @DrCuddleBug what I did was made the same assumptions you made/ in reverse / & you reacted exactly as I thought you would ... just be a little bit more mindful next time thanks 😊

  • [Deleted User]DrCuddleBug (deleted user)

@introvme mindful? Did I say something offensive or unkind?

  • @DrCuddleBug when I read your initial comment I genuinely thought , “I have no idea what this guy is talking about” ... so just incase & for the benefit of doubt my response to your initial comment was exactly the same but in reverse ... just to see if you would feel the same which I assume you did by your opening sentence, “I have no idea what you are talking about” ... so it validated my feeling towards the route you took Initially.

Yeah I'm very much like @introvme. I just go with the flow, although haven't really massaged or been massaged other than like them massaging my leg or hand.

  • [Deleted User]DrCuddleBug (deleted user)

@arghdaddy I believe you can "go with the flow" both passively and/or actively. To go with the flow basically means not being locked into any particular, predetermined plan, yes?

  • [Deleted User]arghdaddy (deleted user)

@DrCuddleBug yes, that's exactly right. Plus I kind of leave it up to my cuddle buddy to determine things just to make sure she feels comfortable & safe at all times.

  • Thai massage is more in line with what is acceptable for cuddling. One cuddler I used to see was also a Thai massage therapist, and set up her office so that the space could be used for both.

But any form of massage I'm aware of is very much one-directional, and some of the appeal of cuddling--at least for me--is that it is a two-way expression of affection, so there is limited room for the two to overlap. That is, in part, why I seek cuddles (or would if it weren't for the heightened pandemic) separately from massage therapy, which addresses different needs of mine.

  • Massage is only allowed on every third Tuesday and only if you are both enthusiasts who both enjoy pineapple pizza. I don’t make the rules. You just can’t make this stuff up. But you have to follow these massage rules!

  • I hate pineapple pizza

  • @bigben Sorry, no massage for you then

  • @Importance thsts ok im usually busy on tuesdays

  • Scalp massages are a must for me lol. My scalp likes cuddles too 😂🤩

  • @Importance I love pineapple 🍍 pizza 🍕 We definitely will cuddle one day, possibly massage after pizza lol On a serious note, I have seen many pro cuddlers that offer massage as a possible extra service on thier profiles. So my answer of yes! We are all adults, understand consent and can stay within site rules.

I am a licensed massage therapist and I have listed massage as an add on option. This will be strictly platonic as I am not willing to risk losing my license. And yes, liability is a thing. I'm insured as well. And everything will be documented like any other massage.

The Terms of Service (TOS) are absolutely clear on this point. Anything of a non-platonic nature is banned, and a number of examples are given.

Massage is platonic, and therefore acceptable providing of course it is acceptable to all the parties in any particular case. Massage is not mentioned explicitly in the TOS, but then neither is watching a film.

There is a tiny corner of the massage world which is non-platonic, but such massages would be banned for multiple reasons under the TOS: nudity, touching of areas normally covered by underwear, and of course being non-platonic.

  • I think some pros were temporarily banned for mentioning they offered massage in the past but that restriction has been wisely relaxed. Still, as @CuddleDuncan notes, it's about TOS/platonic boundaries. The term massage is NOT sexual unless you willfully misinterpret it. Many if not most therapists have to fight the stigma of 'masseuses/masseurs' providing sexual favors, even though they've gone through extensive professional training, including a heavy focus on ethics and boundaries. Would you expect something more from a chiropractor? If not, you shouldn't from a therapist or any professional in the healthcare industry.

I vote for desexualizing the term through education, consistent use, and calling others out for misusing it. Instead we should sexualize something funny like toe socks or combovers.

While my Pro account was under review to be approved, I had listed in my profile that I offer massage for additional cost. I specifically listed professional, platonic massage. They approved me so it must be ok.

You've been advised to change your username to something strictly platonic. Thank you. [-Sid]

  • Massage is actually more defined than cuddling in most states. What people choose to do in the time they share with each other is up to them, but most states and local jurisdictions require licensure or have regulations regarding the exchange of money for massage. A licensed massage therapist is the only person that should be doing massage for money. To do so otherwise may be breaking the law. These regulations exist to protect both the therapist and the client. If we lived in a more progressive society professional cuddlers would have training and licensure as well.

  • I would say yes as long as it falls within the cuddling rules of this site. Platonic etc..
