Your favorite movie and the sequel to it that was never made

I see a lot of great movies in people’s profiles , one is “ Deliverance “ I see frequently , I’d love to see a sequel to it made . I even thought up a plot it’s time coordinated - almost 50 years later and the three main characters are still around , I might post the plot later , there’s a love triangle in it , not many stunts ..
what’s your favorite movie that you would like a sequel to ?

  • There is only one movie that I have have seen that had sequels that didn't suck. That was Back to the Future.

Several years ago, I heard they were planning a sequel to Beetlejuice, and Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder were up for it. However, it looks like it might not happen.

@Mike403 I think the series of Star Trek movies have had some good ones. Star Trek might actually be an example where the first movie was arguably disappointing (many people say it's a bit slow-paced) and the sequel (The Wrath of Khan) was better than the first. Also, James Bond is similar - They've been making James Bond movies for many years and there are some that are pretty good. I also thought the first 3 Indiana Jones movies were pretty good - I remember seeing The Last Crusade in the theater and I really enjoyed it.

  • Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and the sequel: Deja Vu.

  • Silverado. One of the great westerns that doesn't get enough credit. They said "We'll be back" at the end, but alas, a sequel never happened.

    The Graduate Part II

A sequel was planned but was never made, however the book ('Home School') was published in the UK.
My sequel would have been completely different.

  • Machete kills again. There was a preview of a third movie but it was never made

  • District 9 really needs a sequel! That ending left me feeling anxious to see what happens to the alien dude.

  • @cuddleversed that one is genuinely puzzling. Britannic is just gagging to get made - you don't even need to change the plot - and frankly any writer who can't get a film out of Olympic isn't worthy of the name. (Olympic sank a U-boat and another ship, which is a lot for a passenger liner.)

  • So many...a few I would like to see:

    What’s Eating Gilbert Grape

    The Big Lebowski

    Clockwork Orange

    Almost Famous

    Taxi Driver

Lady Bird (never wanted this one to end)

    Dazed and Confused

    Looper

    The Usual Suspects

    The Passion of the Christ.

The Passion of the Christ 2: Revengeance. This film would reveal that it wasn't Jesus who was crucified, but his brother, Isukiri. The movie would pick up several years after the original, with a grizzled Jesus living in Shingō, Japan. Jesus would be consumed by hatred and a burning need to avenge his brother's death. Two friends would join Jesus in his journey; Debu, a portly ninja, and Ooichinchin—a disgraced samurai, and Jesus' love interest. Later on, Jesus would encounter Pizza Pasta, a handsome (and deadly) ex-legionnaire who is sympathetic to Jesus' plight.

The Passion of the Christ 2: Revengeance would be a non-stop action thrill ride, full of blood, guts, and homoeroticism.

  • The professional

  • Bull Durham

Crash is married to Annie and he is the manager of the Durham Bulls. Nuke is at the end of his pitching career and returns to play for the Bulls.

  • Ok . In “ Deliverance 2 “ the three surviving canoe trip expeditionaries return the kahoolawausee which is now “lake kahoolawasee”, and they construct expensive lakefront homes , and plan to live out their retirement years , then they learn that the local rabble still suspect them of the disappearance if the two local mountain men that never came out of the woods about the same time the guys went on the weekend canoe trip . However , there are more respectable folks in that area that knew the mountain men were moonshiners ,and are sympathetic to the canoeists because one of them drowned ( the story made up by the survivors ). But being caught in a lie by the sheriff about the one broken canoe “ floating upstream “ in class 5 rapids divides creates some doubt that their companion really drowned . Anyhow , the Jon Voight character Ed , consistently has nightmares about the weekend and eventually creates marriage problems so his wife divorced him , and then he does meet a local women Amanda Lynn ( who also plays the mandolin with the toothless kid who played the banjo in an impromptu gas station parking lot jam with drew ( the one who drowned ) . So Ed and Amanda Lynn start out as cuddle buddies .... ( to be continued)

  • ..... ok . Ed does eventually learn that Amanda Lynn , is actually the DAUGHTER OF THE MOUNTAIN MAN who raped the ned Beatty character “ Bobbie “ in the woods that day , eventually shot in the back by the Burt Reynolds character Lewis , who , happens to display the blood stained arrow on his trophy wall with the other big game mounts in his lake front recreation room .
One day while cuddling Amanda Lynn , ED has a flashback of the rape of Bobbie and the killing of the mountain man he breaks down and cries , sobbing uncontrollably. Amanda Lynn thinks that he is bothered by the townsfolk suspiciousness if him being involved in her father’s disappearance and tries to comfort him , and tells him that such a tender man like him could never have been involved in that , and that her mama told her he wasn’t good for anything anyway.

    ( to be continued )

  • .... meanwhile Amanda Lynn’s husband Tommy , finds out about Amanda cuddling with Ed and he gets jealous. He is like I mean jealous.

( Tommy , is the SON of the other mountain man who [ if you saw the movie was killed by Ed ]... picked himself up out of the rabble and went to college , and became a FORENSIC crime scene investigator! And all along the years bones have been washing up along the shores of lake kahoolawasee, and Tommy has been studying them scaling DNA out of them somehow and is determined to solve the mystery of the disappearance of his daddy )

    ( to be continued)

  • Hmm favorite movie is a tough choice, but 3 I have always felt everyone should see at least once are Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, and Legend. :)

A movie that I desperately wanted to have a sequel was Hackers, and no Antitrust DOESN'T count. I don't care what people say.

I want to know what Crash and Burn get up to next, how does Cereal turn out with his new found fame, does Phreak ever manage to break Joey out of his shell? Does Nikon make as awesome a Godfather as I think he would? These are the things I NEED to know! Lol
