A love letter to those who read and don't post

Hallo, readers. I know you are out there because you view my profile, and sometimes one of you writes me a beautiful message. Often these messages have something important to say, and I wish it had been said publically. Often they are touching. Always they are worthwhile.

I would love to hear from you. Much as I enjoy reading the posts from my friends the usual suspects, it would be nice to hear from more people. The community needs your voice. Needs you.

Regular posters, please do not post in this thread in the first instance. Leave this space free for those who aren't sure.

There are a million reasons why posting might be hard. I remember my first time on my first forum - I was a lurker for a while before being able to write. This thread is here to help you get started, but I don't really know how to help. If you give me a clue I'll do my best, and if you don't want to post here you can message me. Or indeed any forum regular who you like the look of.

Look, I'll even write the post for you, I can't say fairer than that. Just copy, paste, and fill in the blanks. Actually you don't even have to fill in the blanks.

Hallo, I'm from ___________ . I like ___________ , and was wondering if anybody else likes it too.

If in doubt, please post. Come on in, the water's lovely!

@CuddleDuncan This issue/topic (why many, if not most, of us don't post in the forums) has been addressed in previous forums. Thanks for your concern, just the same.

  • Why not I've been trying to post here and there anyways :)
Allo my name is (let's just go with Dex it's one of my more common nicknames anyways lol) I like making and customizing knives etc. I'm currently going about putting together a new small scale forge. It's not my only hobby to be sure but its probably one that will stand out the most :)

  • blush

    Called out!

Ok, you got me, I'll speak up, but I don't have much to say.
    Yet.

  • @MaullySterling Yay! Great to see you here!

I have a feeling, that once you have settled in, you will have plenty to say. πŸ˜„

  • @NightShift39 Nice! That’s badass! Welcome :)

  • Hi all! I'm Melissa, I just joined. Still figuring out the ropes. With covid, I'm not able to have my need for human contact & touch met, so I'm hoping to find someone who is also taking care to be safe from catching/spreading covid to cuddle with regularly. A gal can dream right? Lol

  • A warm welcome to my fellow newbies :)
Way to go stepping up and saying hey.

@SweetCamiXO Thanks, I'm still just a hobbyist. At this point it's fair to say I'm actually better at building forges than forging knives lol

  • It's funny how your view of the world is never quite complete. I always thought that, 'would you like to come back to mine and play with my forge' was a euphemism. πŸ™„

  • @CuddleDuncan i feel like this was directed at me because I absolutely reed way more than I post. Hello CC community. My name is Nick in the Brooklyn NY area. I enjoy cooking, old music, sci fi movies and most outdoor events. I enjoy these threads and get a good laugh every now and then.
    Thanks for this :)

  • I'm new, but have been fairly active in the forums, so I don't feel like I 100% fit with @CuddleDuncan 's request.

So, just a hi and welcome to @NightShift39 @MaullySterling @CuddleMeMel @Nickoli ! I hope you stay and keep being brave!

  • @CuddleDuncan lol I've looked into it as a pick up line, but it turns out it's far more effective for catching guys than gals. (shocker right?)
Won't lie though a gal that wanted to come over and work my (actual) forge would sure as hell stoke my (metaphorical) fire lol.
Of course a broseph that wanted to hammer out some of life's frustration on some hot steel and have a beer or too many wouldn't be a wasted day either to be fair. :)

@xelda thanks kindly for the second welcome to the site :)

  • Im feeling rather low today and this post cheered me up just a bit. Thank you.

Im Sam and Im from New York and I like Hiking and i was wondering if anyone else does too

  • Welcome to the cuddle crew @wrench sorry yer havin a rough time today mate
:( hope it gets better for ya.

  • Really happy to see some new people posting here. πŸ˜€ Hope these are the first post of many.

If you think this thread might be directed at you, then it is. Would be great to hear from you.

For the record, amongst other things I like hiking, music, beautifully cooked food, New York and ropes. And I'd love a go on a forge.

    @wrench
I am in Colorado and hiking is one of the things I do to combat lifelong depression.
Nothing like a long beautiful trek in these mountains to knock it out of you.
Get out there Sam and kick the blues to the side.

  • @CuddleDuncan lol I'll keep you posted when its finished. I'm going with a light weight portable propane fired setup for this build so it should travel nicely 🀣
