Training Courses for Cuddle Professionals

Please post any professional training courses or resources that you have discovered. Also your experience of a course if you have done it.

1) Nordic Cuddle offer a training course for cuddle practitioners. I have cuddled with people who have done it (and the person who created it) and it's absolutely excellent.

It is accredited both by the Complementary Medical Association (CMA), who have classed Nordic Cuddle as a Centre of Excellence, and by the International Council for Online Educational Standards (ICOES).

2) @FlyingToaster found Certified Cuddlers which is run by the person from
Cuddle Up To Me

Anybody got any more?

  • The main courses I know of are as follows:

    Cuddlist

    Cuddle Sanctuary

    Cuddle Professionals International

The only one I've started so far is Cuddle Professionals International, which is okay but has a lot of written assignments, which seems a little odd for a career that is so embodied and practical. I am thinking I may switch to Cuddle Sanctuary instead as their content seems very high quality from what I've seen of them so far.

There's also two IICT certified Australia based courses that may be of interest to pros Down Under:

    My Touch Therapy by Jasmina

    Cuddle Academy

  • I’m currently going through Cuddlist.com. There is a fee, but the knowledge is worth it. I highly recommend it. Thank you for sharing the others.

  • I hope one year they'll do another CuddleXpo =( It was awesome!

  • Bumping this just in case somebody has discovered a new one.

CAPC (Canadian Association of Professional Cuddlers) is the one I’ve been eyeing for a couple years. Once COVID is a little more under control and I’ve got means to take a trip out to BC, I’m applying for training with Maryelen Reid (who was one of the speakers at the Int’l Professional Cuddler expo), and listing with them. You can list with them without training, but your rate will remain at $60.

The training with her is listed at $120, but I’m not sure if that’s per hour, or per course. It seems some info has changed over the last couple years.

  • @Catloaf when was the international cuddler expo? 😯 I didn't know that existed... Thanks!

  • I recently finished the cuddlist training and it took me the better part of the year due to my ADHD and the fact that every time I decided to work on it I got busy with sessions again. I finally finished and I’m on cuddlist but I have not gotten a single client from it yet I’m a little bummed about it. While the training was helpful I’ve already learned a lot through experience and I was really hoping to get more business out of it more than anything.

  • @xandriarain a big benefit to cuddlist is the facebook community and their MANY webcalls for professionals every week. I don't go on them enough, but I did it a lot in my first year...

  • I just earned the Trained Professional Cuddler designation from Cuddlist.com. I took about a month to complete the self-paced course because it was a lot to take in, reflect upon, and respond to. I highly recommend it!

I highly recommend/second Cuddle Sanctuary as mentioned above. They have shorter courses you can start with and also offer group cuddle leader trainings so you can add to the diversity of your offerings. I've been gradually working through their programs, and Jean is amazing kind and helpful. I also love that they include diversity training, which many programs leave out.

School of Consent - (absolutely necessary, I believe, for all pros, and their Wheel of Consent is great to share with enthusiasts and clients. Really, imo frankly, this should be taught in grade school.) - https://www.schoolofconsent.org/

The Somatic School - (a bit tangential, but definitely related - great if you are interested in mind-body integration, trauma-informed touch, taking a more coaching, education, or therapy approach to professional cuddling) - https://www.thesomaticschool.com/
