Anyone actually spoken or met anyone?

Hi, has anyone on here actually spoke to or met anyone? I've messaged some local people but they haven't even replied 🙄, I've been on here a while

  • @Bristolman43 were the local people non pros (enthusiasts) or professionals that you messaged ?

Yes I have. I’ve communicated with a couple people and arranged to meet in person. It’s very nerve wracking though. Definitely easier said than done, so I don’t blame anyone who backs out.

  • I've got one ongoing conversation with an awesome individual and received a few lovely and warm welcome messages but mostly just chat with people in the forums. I'm looking into my local pro's but at this time of year a lot of people are understandably on break or booked up. It's a stressful time in an even more stressful year, so I wish all of you the best. Warm virtual huggles

I have had a few conversations with people interested in hiring me, discussing schedules and I have met a few individuals as well. So far so good.

  • I've spoken and met with several lovely people, but the folks I tend to ignore are the ones who make it obvious they didn't read my profile. I'd recommend making sure you're reading those so you get an idea of whether they're compatible with you or even active on the site before messaging them.

  • Personally, not as of yet.

  • So, I have good news and bad news. And then more good news.

The good news is that yes, you can meet people on here. I have met several professionals and a couple of enthusiasts. I've also met other enthusiasts online. This is a real site with real people, and it does work.

However .... there are very few female enthusiasts and they are flooded with messages. Too many of these messages are from creeps, which puts people off and they leave before they have even really started.

For messaging enthusiasts, I haven't calculated my reply rate but it is low. With professionals my overall reply rate is about 2/3, but some of them take a while for legitimate reasons. To add to your disappointment, in the UK there is no signficant cuddling outside London and the South East. Even there there are very few - only about 200 females of all types have logged on in the past year within 100 miles of London. (When doing a slightly different set of numbers I found the ratio of men:women was 7:1.) In other words, your chance of finding an enthusiast cuddle buddy on this site outside London is functionally zero.

Finally the good news. If you are able to make it happen, there is at least one professional within potential striking distance of Bridgend (Estellita). I have had a session with her (writing the Karma is on my to do list) and the summary is that she is lovely, 5 stars.

You mention London in your profile and if you are up in town it's worth getting in touch with the London professionals. I have met several and you will see my Karma, every word of which is true.

I've been active on here for a couple of weeks now. I'm involved in a few lovely message conversations and have had 2 phone calls. Due to COVID, I'm not open to meeting anyone right now, but even if I were, there are not many people in my area on this site (no one is active). I'm hoping that by contributing to the forums, creating a good profile, and generally educating myself on platonic cuddling and what I'm looking for... that by the time COVID is no longer the threat it currently is, I will be in a good position to actualize some cuddle relationships, either from people in my area who join the site and see me as a good potential, or from other natural opportunities in my circle of friends.

I figure this is the kind of thing that will take a bit of nurturing to develop into something I want it to be. It's winter and COVID, so I have the time to do that right now.

Thanks for all your comments, I messaged non professionals and they were local, I'm genuine and just feel like I'm being ignored 🙄

  • There is a pandemic raging, sooooo, look at it from a conscientious person’s perspective. They might be scared.

  • @Bristolman43 don't take it personally. I've spoken to women who have left the site after they first joined because of the number of messages they received. Not problematic content, just the sheer number.

As I say, I haven't calculated my reply rate. I would guess that from profiles that have logged on in the last day or two it's under 10%. (And I always had at least 1 karma.) At least half of these stop after a message or two.

Opening messages to female enthusiasts should be polite, brief and friendly. Spelling and grammar should be perfect. Obviously they must be individual. Do not mention cuddling in the first message - try to create a connection first.

@Bristolman43 hang in there. Persevere. I would say I get about a 90% response rate from enthusiasts. But actually having a ongoing, long-term conversation is a different story. I don't pursue that kind of relationship with another enthusiast unless our connection warrants it.

I’m an enthusiast and I have cuddled with people from this site. I’m not currently cuddling.

I ignore some people. There are reasons. You sound frustrated. It goes both ways ✌️

  • I'm an enthusiast and have cuddled with 3 people, met another handful in person, and have correspondence with another handful. I'm a woman so chances are higher for me given the statistics of who is on the site. There are lots of threads about this, about having a good profile, how to approach (and not approach) enthusiasts, what improves your changes, how common it is to get no response from enthusiasts, etc. Good to read up on that as many of us have contributed to them our best thinking about it all.
And welcome! You'll always find a handful of us weirdos on the forum who are happy to exchange and support and point you to resources and give you good and bad news with equal enthusiasm.
    :)

I have talked to a few people and met up with a few. Hoping to have regular sessions with one cuddly guy. I hope we can all find and get what we need here. Sending good energy and cuddly vibes to all.

I have met quite a few female enthusiasts, but I travel a lot. But it seems from the ladies I have met that 80% of the men eliminate themselves early on due to sparse messages, poor communication, impatience, and a lack of respect. Just communicate like you would with anyone you strike up a conversation with in real life—ask questions and listen. This isn’t rocket science. But it is chemistry.

  • What @FunCartel said,

Just communicate like you would with anyone you strike up a conversation with in real life—ask questions and listen.

is exactly right. The tragedy is that most of that 80% can't do it in real life, which is why they can't do it in the cuddling world.

  • @NightShift39 I’m an hour from st.Petersburg ☺️ Lol

  • @Sheena123 trust me I'm well aware of this fact we simply haven't interacted yet and I like to at least say hi to some one before sending a message courtesy and all. :) So hi there lol nice concise profile by the way.

  • @NightShift39 why hello! 👋 lol I enjoyed reading your profile as well! It’s very informative and I’ve worked 12 hour night shifts at a factory in Canada so I know exactly how you feel. Dinner time is breakfast time 😂😂

  • edited December 2020

😊 awe thanks I try. And yep I've worked so many night shift jobs I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I had nights off any more lol

  • I’ve met people pre and post covid. I’m fine and they are fine. Since most people aren’t running around going to parties and mostly keeping their social circles small it’s been fine. As always use your best judgment and stay in your comfort zones, some have bigger zones that others and that’s fine. I’ve flown and taken two trips and all is okay.

This is such a common recurring question that it almost seems like the site should warn people (especially men) when they sign up.

"Hey, just so you know, the man/woman ratio on this site is completely skewed, and you may find it really difficult to find women to cuddle with... or even to reply to your messages."

Then again, I imagine that telling new people the site probably won't work out for them would not be good for business.

  • Hundreds of people, even a few of those ellusive women, but almost no one in the last year. It's too nerve wracking. I miss being able to spontaneously meet new people.
Take in to consideration the extraordinary circumstances.

Unfortunately, the first big headline when visiting the site for the first time is "Get a cuddle buddy today!" Very misleading. Honestly, you've been here only 3-4 months, during a pandemic. I think giving it a year to find someone is more likely. But I have noticed that the more you comment on these forums, the more people get to know you, and the more visits you will probably get to your profile. Overall, you will become a safer prospect for potential partners. I can't comment on the number of people in your area. But I know that enthusiasts who get a good vibe are willing to travel for someone with the right chemistry.

  • edited December 2020

@creedhands I agree about the forums. However, there are people I haven't seen post on the forums much if at all, and I wonder how many users on this site don't even look at the forums? I imagine there may be some users who mainly search for other people and don't look at the forums much (if at all).

  • Most of the people I correspond with don't visit the forums. My two cents.

  • edited December 2020

Yeah if you're used to typical dating site set ups you might not even notice the forum at first the stickies at the top are all faqs and rules easy to just hit the search with out scrolling down enough. whistles innocently

I’ve been on here for about a week now and messaged a few people but haven’t gotten any replies in return. I’m pretty good about reading profiles and seeing login dates as well. Unfortunately there’s not many guys in my city who are cuddlers. But I’d even be down for messaging or even texting. This season’s been a bit lonely. I’ll take what I can get!

  • UPDATE: Have hope cuddle seekers it CAN and DOES happen!!

I'm currently working on ironing out lodgings and schedules for meeting my first enthusiast from the site. 🥰🥰🤯🥳

Ok I admit I'm travel happy and covering WAY more ground than most would lol, but that's not the point here.
We interacted in the forums, chatted in messages and are setting up our first phone call. I'm nearly vibrating with excitement (ok it could be the Deathwish coffee but that usually feels different)

The take away here is dont give up and also maybe consider joining us here in the forum you shy lurkers ;)

Virtual Hugs and Snuggles for all.
